Abstract

Many cases of pregnancy out of wedlock and resulting in widespread early marriages indicate that the ability of children or adolescents to communicate assertively is still weak. Adolescence is a transition period not only psychologically, but also physically. This transition from child to adult includes all aspects of development experienced in preparation for entering adulthood. Assertive communication produces direct behavior that is polite and goal-oriented, a person's feelings or desires. The training in this research aims to increase the insight of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara to be better prepared to face invitations that lead to promiscuous sexual behavior by communicating assertively. The participants in this research were 50 students. The implementation is to conduct counseling first, then continue with training on how to communicate assertively. The results obtained from this training were that some students were able to practice correctly, but others were not able to practice the instructions given.

Abstract

Incentive travel is a key segment in MICE that aims to motivate employees. Although Indonesia is a leading MICE destination, the competitiveness of Jakarta has not been optimized as an incentive travel destination. This study identifies Harapan Island in the Thousand Islands as Jakarta's leading potential for incentive travel, offering unique maritime and conservation experiences. However, there is a significant gap between this potential and the current unstructured and uncompetitive tourism products, which fail to meet corporate expectations. Using quantitative associative methods, this study analyzes the influence of internal factors (accommodation, cuisine) and external factors (accessibility, local support) on destination competitiveness. Data from 50 respondents, mostly tourism workers and corporate employees, was collected through a reliable questionnaire (Cronbach's Alpha >0.90) and found to have a normal distribution. The findings confirm the strong potential of Harapan Island, but highlight critical weaknesses in supporting facilities and product packaging. This study concludes that community-based strategic development for premium products is essential to transform Harapan Island into a competitive and sustainable incentive travel destination, thereby supporting the vision of “Jakarta Nice for MICE.”

Abstract

This research aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in implementing character education through Social Sciences (IPS) learning in elementary schools, especially at MIN 1 Metro. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews, observation and literature study. The research results show that the main challenge lies in the diversity of student backgrounds and differences in character based on gender, which requires a different and more personalized teaching approach. On the other hand, the Independent Curriculum provides great opportunities with flexibility in planning and implementing learning that is integrated with character values. Strategies such as value reflection, collaboration between students, and strengthening teacher-student relationships have proven effective in instilling values such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. This research concludes that character education can be implemented optimally if it is supported by an adaptive curriculum, appropriate teaching strategies, and active involvement of teachers and parents.
