Abstract

One of the common and increasingly frequent problems faced by developing countries is poor waste management. This waste problem is also one of the crucial problems facing Indonesia. This is also compounded by the fact that public awareness is still lacking regarding waste management and the dangers of environmental waste. This research was carried out at SD Negeri 101826 Tuntungan II on Saturday, 18-25 May 2024. This research is qualitative research using observation, interviews, question and answer and games methods involving various parties as respondents. The aim of this research is so that students at SD Negeri 101826 Tuntungan II can understand and apply knowledge regarding the differences between organic waste and non-organic waste in order to make it easier to dispose of and process waste in accordance with the correct waste disposal criteria. The benefit of this research is that it is a form of caring for the school environment and protecting the earth from waste that is difficult to decompose, so that it can minimize littering. By carrying out several stages and explaining about waste, we can immediately give an example to children that it is important for us to protect schools from various diseases that can result if waste is thrown away carelessly.

Abstract

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a health problem that is increasing in prevalence throughout the world. The aim of this research is to evaluate the challenges and strategies for managing GERD through a literature study. This research method involves searching and analyzing various sources of information relevant to the topic of GERD disease management. Selection of information sources is carried out based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, including relevance to the topic, year of publication, and methodological quality. This research is a type of qualitative research in the nature of a literature study (Library Search) which uses literature as the main research object. Data obtained from literature studies were then analyzed systematically to identify patterns, trends and main findings related to challenges and strategies for managing GERD. The research results show that the main challenges in managing GERD include the diversity of symptoms, risk factors such as unhealthy eating patterns and smoking habits, as well as the side effects of long-term medical treatment. Effective management strategies include a combination of medical treatment with healthy lifestyle changes and cognitive behavioral therapy. This holistic approach not only helps reduce GERD symptoms, but also prevents long-term complications such as esophagitis and esophageal cancer. By paying attention to the challenges faced and implementing appropriate management strategies, it is hoped that we can improve the quality of life of GERD patients and reduce the overall disease burden on the health system. This research provides a better understanding of the management of GERD and provides a basis for the development of more optimal approaches to managing this disease.

Abstract

Method: The method used was a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 49 fourth-grade students. Educational activities included interactive lectures, discussions, CTPS practice simulations using songs, illustrative images, and educational games tailored to the children's characteristics. Practical Applications: The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 6.35 to 8.12, as well as an increase in the proportion of students with good knowledge from 61.2% to 91.8%. Furthermore, students demonstrated high enthusiasm and a temporary change in attitudes toward handwashing practices. Teachers responded positively and stated the need for similar, ongoing activities to support the formation of healthy habits. Challenges to implementation included limited handwashing facilities, crowded classrooms, and limited time. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach involving teachers, parents, and facility management so that the implementation of PHBS and CTPS can be sustainable and have a real impact on behavioral changes in the school environment.
