Background: Health insurance is the answer to the uncertainty of the occurrence of illness and the need for health services. To ensure that the need for health services can be adequately financed, a person or small group of people transfers risk to another party called an insurer/insurer, or an insurance agency.Subjects and Method: This was a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted with PRISMA flow diagrams. Search articles through journal databases including: Google Scholar, MEDLINE/ PubMed, Science Direct and Spinger Link by selecting articles published in 2000-2021 The keywords used are “health care”AND “outpatient” OR “insurance” AND “private health insurance” AND “outpatient” OR “health insurance” AND “private health insurance” AND “utilization of public health care” AND “inpatient service” AND “outpatient service” AND “logistic regression aOR”. The inclusion criteria were full paper articles with retrospective study cohort research methods, the analysis used was multivariate with adjusted Odds Ratio (aOR), the intervention provided was health insurance, the research subjects were private health insurance users. Eligible articles were analyzed using the RevMan 5.3 application. Results: A meta-analysis of 9 articles showed that people with private health insurance were 1.98 times more likely to use outpatient services than those without health insurance, and the effect was statistically significant (aOR = 1.98; 95% CI = 1.39 to 2.81; p<0.001).Conclusion: The use of private health insurance has a statistically significant effect in increasing outpatient use. Keywords: health insurance, private health insurance, outpatient, meta analysis.Correspondence: Sulaiman Putra Nagaring. Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common nutritional problems in the world and is mainly caused by iron deficiency. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia among adolescents remains high, especially in adolescent girls who have greater iron requirements due to growth and menstruation. Low levels of knowledge, unbalanced dietary patterns, and poor adherence to iron supplementation are the main factors contributing to anemia in this group. Therefore, efforts to increase knowledge through health education activities are needed. This Community Service activity aimed to increase the knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia prevention through improving iron intake and adopting a healthy lifestyle. The activity was carried out in Bongohulawa, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency, on November 3, 2025, involving 40 adolescent girls. The methods used included health education, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and distribution of educational media. Evaluation was conducted using a pre-test and post-test. The pre-test results showed that only 25% of participants had good knowledge, while 45% had moderate knowledge and 30% had poor knowledge. After the educational intervention, the percentage of participants with good knowledge increased to 75%, moderate knowledge decreased to 20%, and poor knowledge decreased to 5%. It can be concluded that this educational activity was effective in increasing adolescent girls’ knowledge of anemia prevention and the importance of iron intake and a healthy lifestyle as early preventive measures.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for babies and is recommended by the WHO to be given exclusively for the first six months of life. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Gorontalo is still low, including in the working area of the East City Health Centre. One of the causes is the lack of knowledge among mothers about the benefits, breastfeeding techniques, breast milk storage, and stress management during breastfeeding. This activity aims to increase the knowledge of pregnant women through education using video and PowerPoint media in the BESTIE ASI (Breast Care, Essential Nutrients, Storage, Technique, and Stress Managed ASI) programme. The activity methods include planning, preparation, implementation of counselling, and evaluation using pre-tests and post-tests. There were 15 pregnant women participating in the activity. The evaluation results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 46.67 on the pre-test to 70.67 on the post-test. Video and PowerPoint media were effective in increasing knowledge because they were able to present the material in an interesting, interactive, and easy-to-understand manner. Thus, educational activities using audio-visual media have been proven to support the improvement of pregnant women's readiness for exclusive breastfeeding. Keywords: exclusive breastfeeding, pregnant women, health education, video, PowerPoint

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behaviour (PHBS) is a promotional strategy to improve public health through behavioural change at the household level. Initial observations in Hutadaa Village indicate low implementation of PHBS, characterised by smoking indoors, inadequate sanitation, and suboptimal waste management. This activity aims to increase community understanding and awareness of PHBS implementation through educational interventions. The community service was carried out on 7 September 2025 as part of the UNG Thematic Community Service Programme using an educational approach through presentations, educational videos, and interactive discussions. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge and motivation to implement PHBS indicators, such as proper hand washing practices, use of healthy toilets, consumption of nutritious food, and control of risky behaviours. Thus, community-based education has proven to be effective as an initial approach to health behaviour change. However, the sustainability of PHBS implementation requires environmental support, assistance, and cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

Kata kunci: menopause, hipertensi, pemberdayaan masyarakat, edukasi kesehatan, deteksi dini Abstract Menopause is a natural physiological phase experienced by all women as they age, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. This phase is characterised by the permanent cessation of menstruation due to decreased estrogen and progesterone levels, which affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of hypertension. The low awareness among menopausal women regarding routine blood pressure checks has led to many cases of hypertension going undetected in its early stages. Therefore, empowerment efforts through education and early detection of hypertension among menopausal women are essential. This community service activity was carried out in the working area of Kota Tengah Public Health Centre, Gorontalo City, involving 45 menopausal women as participants. The implementation methods included interactive health education, blood pressure measurements, and knowledge evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed a 42% increase in participants’ knowledge, from 35% before the activity to 77% after the education session. In addition, 40% of participants were found to have hypertension, most of whom had never undergone blood pressure screening before. Community-based health education proved effective in enhancing awareness, behaviour, and practical skills related to hypertension prevention. In conclusion, this program successfully improved the knowledge, awareness, and skills of menopausal women in preventing hypertension. Early detection through self-monitoring of blood pressure serves as a strategic step to reduce hypertension incidence among high-risk menopausal women.
