Abstract

Indonesian Health Survey data shows that the number of active smokers reaches 70 million people. Smoking behavior is a risk factor for increasing the prevalence of non-communicable diseases, so efforts to stop cigarette consumption must continue in order to prevent premature death and reduce the prevalence of smoking-related diseases. The objective of this community service initiative is to empower the community in raising awareness about the dangers of smoking through health education in Haya-Haya Village. The method used was observation and analysis of health issues in Haya-Haya Village. Activities included raising awareness among the community about the dangers of smoking, checking blood pressure, and providing educational materials about the dangers of smoking door to door. The three community service activities carried out have a strong synergy in achieving the goal of increasing community awareness about the dangers of smoking. The socialization provides a strong foundation of knowledge, the billboards provide consistent visual reminders, while the door-to-door distribution of stickers ensures the message reaches the family level. This community service activity demonstrates a concrete effort to increase community awareness and knowledge about the negative health impacts of smoking, particularly in Haya-Haya Village.

Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common nutritional problems in the world and is mainly caused by iron deficiency. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia among adolescents remains high, especially in adolescent girls who have greater iron requirements due to growth and menstruation. Low levels of knowledge, unbalanced dietary patterns, and poor adherence to iron supplementation are the main factors contributing to anemia in this group. Therefore, efforts to increase knowledge through health education activities are needed. This Community Service activity aimed to increase the knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia prevention through improving iron intake and adopting a healthy lifestyle. The activity was carried out in Bongohulawa, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency, on November 3, 2025, involving 40 adolescent girls. The methods used included health education, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and distribution of educational media. Evaluation was conducted using a pre-test and post-test. The pre-test results showed that only 25% of participants had good knowledge, while 45% had moderate knowledge and 30% had poor knowledge. After the educational intervention, the percentage of participants with good knowledge increased to 75%, moderate knowledge decreased to 20%, and poor knowledge decreased to 5%. It can be concluded that this educational activity was effective in increasing adolescent girls’ knowledge of anemia prevention and the importance of iron intake and a healthy lifestyle as early preventive measures.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat stimulasi perkembangan motorik kasar anak usia dini, khususnya pada aspek pola berjalan, melalui implementasi alat peraga pola berjalan berbasis gait analysis. Program ini dirancang sebagai upaya inovatif untuk membantu anak mengembangkan koordinasi gerak tubuh secara optimal sejak usia dini, sekaligus memberikan alternatif media pembelajaran yang aplikatif bagi guru Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal, Limboto, dengan melibatkan seluruh siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan meliputi edukasi interaktif mengenai pentingnya pola berjalan yang baik, demonstrasi penggunaan alat peraga oleh tim pengabdian, serta praktik mandiri oleh anak-anak dengan pendampingan guru. Alat peraga dilengkapi visual cueing berupa jejak kaki dan garis penuntun yang dirancang untuk membantu anak memahami arah, ritme, dan panjang langkah secara bertahap. Observasi dilakukan selama kegiatan untuk melihat perubahan kemampuan motorik anak. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan anak dalam mengoordinasikan panjang langkah, ritme berjalan, dan orientasi tubuh. Integrasi informasi visual dan kinestetik melalui alat peraga terbukti membantu anak menginternalisasi pola berjalan yang lebih stabil. Selain itu, guru menilai media ini mudah digunakan, adaptif, dan relevan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, inovasi media pembelajaran berbasis analisis gerak efektif mendukung perkembangan motorik kasar anak usia dini.

Abstract

Providing knowledge about nutritious food to young children is an essential step in shaping healthy eating habits and supporting their optimal growth and development. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding of students at TK A Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Bolihuangga, Gorontalo Regency, regarding the principles of balanced nutrition through engaging learning methods appropriate to their developmental stage. The program was implemented on October 14, 2025, involving 17 students, and utilized several approaches, including material delivery, educational video presentations, and interactive games that required students to sort nutritious and non-nutritious foods. The results showed that children became more capable of identifying healthy food types, actively participated in all activities, and demonstrated improved comprehension through visual and motor-based tasks. The learning-through-play approach proved effective in increasing students’ enthusiasm and fostering positive behaviors related to food choices. Overall, this activity provided an enjoyable and meaningful nutrition education experience that has the potential to support children’s health and learning abilities in the future.

Abstract

Hand hygiene remains one of the essential factors influencing the health of school-aged children, who are particularly vulnerable to infectious diseases. Handwashing with soap (HWWS) is a simple yet highly effective measure in preventing the transmission of various illnesses. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge, awareness, and handwashing practices of second-grade students at SD IT Lukmanul Hakim, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency. The activity was conducted on September 19, 2025, involving 26 students. The educational methods included material presentation, educational video screening, demonstration of proper handwashing steps, and interactive games using visual worksheets to strengthen students’ understanding. The results indicated that students participated enthusiastically, actively asked questions, and were able to correctly demonstrate the handwashing steps. The use of video media and interactive games proved effective in increasing comprehension and making the learning process more engaging and accessible for children. Overall, this program successfully promoted clean and healthy living behaviors among students, particularly in encouraging handwashing with soap as part of their daily routine.
