Abstract

Background. Adolescence is a critical period for emotional development and social adjustment. During this stage, the ability to regulate emotions becomes increasingly important, particularly as it influences the formation of prosocial behavior—actions intended to benefit others. Gender differences have also been observed in both emotional regulation strategies and prosocial tendencies, highlighting the need to explore how these variables interact. Purpose. This quantitative study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotion regulation and prosocial behavior in adolescents, with a specific focus on gender differences. It also sought to identify whether gender moderates the influence of emotion regulation strategies on the development of prosocial actions among adolescents. Method. The study involved 320 high school students aged 13–17 from urban and semi-urban schools. Data were collected using standardized psychological scales measuring emotion regulation (including cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression) and prosocial behavior. Statistical analysis was conducted using correlation analysis, multiple regression, and moderation tests to examine gender-based differences. Results. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between cognitive reappraisal and prosocial behavior in both genders, with a stronger effect observed among female participants. Expressive suppression showed a weak or negative correlation with prosocial behavior, particularly among males. Gender was found to moderate the relationship, indicating that females who engage in positive emotion regulation strategies tend to display higher levels of prosocial behavior. Conclusion. Emotion regulation plays a crucial role in shaping adolescent prosocial behavior, with notable differences between males and females. Educational and psychological interventions aimed at fostering emotional competence should consider gender-specific approaches to enhance social functioning and empathy among adolescents.

Abstract

Quantum teleportation through optical communication channels is one of the promising technologies to create secure communication systems in the future. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of quantum teleportation through various types of optical communication channels, such as standard optical fibers, low-loss optical fibers, and free photon-based communication lines. The research was conducted using a quantitative experimental method, measuring the success rate of teleportation based on channel length, channel type, and environmental disturbances. The results showed that low-loss optical fibers had the highest efficiency, with a success rate of 85% at distances of up to 50 km. The free photon-based path shows good performance at short distances, but decreases drastically at longer distances due to atmospheric disturbances. The study also found that photon loss and environmental disturbances are the main factors affecting entanglement stability, especially in channels more than 75 km long. The conclusion of this study confirms that low-loss optical fiber is the best choice to support quantum teleportation on a local to medium scale. The main challenges in the development of this technology are the reduction of photon loss and the management of environmental disturbances. Further research is needed to address these limitati

Abstract

The limitations of conventional von Neumann computing architectures in handling complex, data-intensive tasks have spurred significant interest in brain-inspired neuromorphic computing. A critical challenge in this field is the development of hardware that can efficiently emulate the synaptic plasticity of biological neurons. This study focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and integration of ferroelectric thin films, specifically hafnium zirconium oxide (HZO), as a promising material platform for creating artificial synaptic devices. The primary objective was to fabricate high-quality HZO thin films and demonstrate their capacity to mimic key synaptic functions. HZO films were synthesized using pulsed laser deposition, followed by comprehensive characterization of their structural, ferroelectric, and electrical properties using XRD, PFM, and I-V measurements. The optimized films were then integrated into two-terminal memristive device structures. The resulting devices successfully exhibited essential synaptic behaviors, including potentiation, depression, and spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP), with low energy consumption per synaptic event. The gradual and controllable modulation of ferroelectric domain switching was identified as the core mechanism enabling this analog-like resistance modulation.
