Abstract

This study investigates the critical role of cross-cultural perspectives in understanding intimacy and communication within marriage. As societies become increasingly diverse, traditional marriage counseling approaches often overlook the unique needs and experiences of couples from varied cultural backgrounds. This article aims to explore how cultural values, norms, and communication styles shape the experiences of intimacy and influence relationship dynamics among married individuals. The research highlights that intimacy is not merely a personal experience but is heavily influenced by cultural context, which dictates how affection, emotional support, and conflict resolution are perceived and expressed. By analyzing various counseling models, including those that are culturally informed, this study emphasizes the need for adaptability in therapeutic practices. It also discusses the potential barriers that culturally diverse couples face in counseling settings, such as misinterpretation of behaviors and expectations rooted in differing cultural backgrounds. Furthermore, the article provides practical recommendations for marriage counselors to create more inclusive and effective interventions. This includes the necessity of integrating cultural competence training into counselor education programs and developing tailored counseling strategies that acknowledge and respect cultural differences. By doing so, counselors can better support couples in navigating their unique challenges and enhancing their relational satisfaction. Ultimately, this study advocates for a shift in marriage counseling paradigms to embrace a more holistic and culturally sensitive approach, thereby improving outcomes for couples from diverse backgrounds.

Abstract

Zikr is an act of worship that is intended to facilitate a closer relationship with Allah SWT and to reinforce individual spiritual connections. This study aims to examine the role of dhikr as a tool for spiritual growth in the training of da'wah personnel at Dayah Jamiah Al-Aziziyah. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was employed to gain insight into the implementation of dhikr, its impact on the spirituality of cadres, and the factors that facilitate or impede its effectiveness. Data were collected through the following methods: participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicated that zikr is meticulously incorporated into the daily regimen and training program. The cadres report positive outcomes, including an enhanced sense of proximity to Allah, inner tranquility, emotional regulation, and elevated motivation in their preaching. Furthermore, zikr facilitates the strengthening of solidarity and social relations among cadres. However, the consistency of dhikr implementation is occasionally hindered by obstacles such as busy schedules. The success of the program is contingent upon the provision of caregiver support, technical guidance, and adequate facilities. The findings indicate that zikr is not merely a routine act of worship; it is also a tool for character development in the context of da'wah, fostering qualities such as patience, humility, and inclusivity. Ongoing assessment and program refinement are essential to enhance its efficacy. This model is a valuable reference for other Islamic educational institutions seeking to cultivate exemplary da'wah cadres

The results show that intensive interpersonal communication serves as an effective medium in shaping the Islamic character of santri, with teachers acting as a role model and providing moral guidance through daily attitudes and behaviors. This relationship enables students to more easily internalize religious teachings in their daily lives. This study contributes to understanding the important role of interpersonal communication in dayah education, particularly in shaping santri with noble character and strong spirituality. Moreover, this study strengthens interpersonal communication rooted in Islamic values, setting it apart from conventional notions of interpersonal communication ***** Penelitian ini mengkaji komunikasi interpersonal antara santri dan gurèe (guru) dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman di Dayah Mudi Mesra.

Abstract

The energy transition in Indonesia represents a complex policy challenge that intertwines political will, economic interests, and environmental imperatives. Public understanding and acceptance of this transition are largely influenced by how the media and communication actors construct narratives around sustainability, fossil fuel dependency, and renewable energy adoption. This study aims to analyze the role of media and communication strategies in shaping public policy narratives and influencing stakeholder perceptions regarding Indonesia’s energy transition. A qualitative content analysis was conducted on 150 media articles, government press releases, and public statements published between 2019 and 2024, complemented by in-depth interviews with journalists, policymakers, and energy experts. The findings reveal that the Indonesian media often frames the energy transition within political and economic contexts rather than environmental urgency, leading to fragmented public understanding. Communication strategies employed by the government emphasize national development and energy sovereignty but lack consistency in sustainability messaging. The study concludes that effective and transparent communication—supported by collaborative framing between media and policy institutions—is essential to foster inclusive public engagement and accelerate the nation’s shift toward clean energy

Abstract

Background. The proliferation of social media has fundamentally reshaped public discourse, creating powerful new arenas for climate change communication. Youth activists, in particular, have adeptly leveraged these platforms to mobilize global environmental campaigns, bypassing traditional media gatekeepers. This research addresses the need to understand the specific communication strategies employed by these digital-native activists to engage audiences and drive collective action. Purpose. This study aims to identify and analyze the primary communication strategies used by youth-led environmental campaigns on social media platforms. Method. Adopting a qualitative case study approach, this research conducts a content analysis of social media posts from prominent youth activist campaigns across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. The analysis focuses on message framing, narrative techniques, visual elements, and calls to action. Results. The findings reveal a multi-faceted communication strategy that combines strong emotional appeals and personal storytelling with the simplification and visualization of complex scientific data. Furthermore, a consistent and clear call to action, often linked to specific policy demands or lifestyle changes, is a central component of these campaigns. Conclusion. This study concludes that the effectiveness of youth-led climate campaigns on social media lies in their ability to create a relatable, urgent, and empowering narrative that fosters a sense of shared identity and collective efficacy among their followers.
