Abstract

The value of education has long been used at pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Indonesia. The present research discusses implementing value education practices and developing students' interpersonal awareness in the context of pesantren-based higher education. The research employed a qualitative method by adopting a case study design in which data gathering methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique utilizes the data analysis framework. The sources of this research are Universitas Islam Internasional Darullughah Wadda'wah and Universitas Darussalam Gontor East Java. The results show that implementing value education in pesantren-based higher education is deeply entrenched in religious and prophetic values. These values encompass various elements, including kiai (local Islamic leaders), santri (Islamic students), boarding schools, teachers, books, mosques, and campuses, collectively forming an integral part of the value framework. Islamic boarding schools' educational practices and regulations exhibit principles such as honesty, simplicity, independence, purity of heart, and dedication. Furthermore, these principles are instilled through habits, supervision of students, religious discussion sessions, and a range of additional efforts to shape these values within the students' souls and characters.

Data collection using the Likert Scale. Data analysis techniques using the SPSS program. Version.20. The study results showed an influence of authoritarian parenting patterns on learning interest in Islamic Religion learning at SMAIT Imam Malik Bandung based on r results or person correlation of 0.364, indicating the perfect correlation interval. R count (0.364)> R table (0.220). With these results, there is an influence of authoritarian parenting patterns on children's learning interest in the Islamic Religion. The results of the calculation of the coefficient of determination or R Square of authoritarian parenting patterns contribute to an increase in learning interest by 2.2% this shows the magnitude of the increased learning interest at SMAIT Imam Malik Bandung. The significant value of 0.000, compared to the significance level of 0.05 (5%), is smaller than 0.05 (%). Based on the calculation results, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the working hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, this means that there is an influence of parenting patterns.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of school principals in shaping students' religious character through institutionalized habituation management. The purpose of this study is to identify approaches to developing students' religious character, as well as implementation and evaluation strategies applied by school principals. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, with data collection techniques through participant observation, documentation, and interviews. An interactive model is used in analyzing the data, and credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests are conducted to verify the validity of the data. The results show that structured habituation activities, such as school literacy, extracurricular activities, Al-Qur'an recitation, prayer, apperception, reflection, and the application of the 5S method (smile, greeting, greeting, politeness and courtesy) can contribute significantly to the formation of students' religious character. In addition, activities such as K3 (cleanliness, beauty, order), Yasin recitation, weekly muhadhoroh, congregational prayer, and Juz Amma memorization also play a role. The principal's determination of school policies is a determining factor in the success of this program. The implications of this research provide practical contributions to the development of structured Islamic education management strategies and provide deeper insights into strategic leadership in values-based education.
