Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education offers innovative solutions to improve the quality of learning, especially in creating teaching materials. However, in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, many elementary school teachers have not yet utilized this technology due to limited knowledge and skills. Therefore, this community service activity aims to socialize and train elementary school teachers in utilizing AI to create interactive and effective teaching materials. The implementation method of this activity includes socialization of AI theory, practical training on the use of AI applications, group discussions, and direct practice in creating AI-based teaching materials. The results of this activity show an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in using AI. As many as 75% of teachers are able to create more varied and efficient teaching materials by utilizing AI technology. However, several obstacles were found, such as limited technological infrastructure in schools. This socialization activity succeeded in improving teachers' ability to utilize AI, but limited technological infrastructure is a major challenge. The evaluation showed that most teachers needed further training to deepen their understanding of AI technology. In the future, there needs to be increased access to technology and ongoing training to ensure the sustainability of AI utilization in elementary education in Bukittinggi

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari suatu permasalahan SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh yaitu kegiatan absensi sholat dzuhur yang masih menggunakan absensi manual menimbulkan banyak kendala, antara lain banyaknya data absensi yang tidak valid dan tingginya risiko kehilangan atau rusaknya kertas absensi karena masih disimpan secara manual. Karena jumlah siswa kelas 7 hingga 9 di SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh berjumlah lebih dari 800 orang, maka pengolahan data kehadiran sholat dzuhur siswa di sekolah tersebut, mulai dari pendataan kehadiran harian hingga rekapitulasi kehadiran, memerlukan waktu yang lama, dan tingkat kesalahan yang masih cukup tinggi. Hal ini dapat berdampak pada kebenaran data absensi tersebut. Penulis merancang aplikasi absensi sholat dzuhur menggunakan Kodular di SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh dengan metode Research and Development (RnD) dengan pendekatan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluate). Dalam penelitian ini digunakan tiga jenis pengujian produk, uji efektivitas menggunakan rumus statistik Richard R. Hake (G-Score), uji praktikalitas menggunakan moment kappa, dan uji validitas menggunakan rumus statistik Aiken's V. Uji validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas digunakan dalam pengujian produk. Hasil uji praktikalitas dengan sepuluh orang guru SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh diperoleh nilai 0,79 dikategorikan memiliki tingkat kepraktisan sangat tinggi, dan hasil uji efektivitas dengan dua orang guru informatika diperoleh nilai 0,91 yaitu dikategorikan memiliki tingkat efektivitas yang tinggi. Uji validitas produk dengan dua orang ahli di bidang pemrograman dan satu orang ahli di bidang kebahasaan memperoleh nilai rata-rata akhir sebesar 0,94 yang dikategorikan valid. Maka dari hasil tersebut, produk Aplikasi Absensi Sholat Dzuhur Siswa Menggunakan Kodular di SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Technological advancements have had a significant impact on the education sector, including the application of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for facial image analysis. This research aims to implement CNN to measure students' learning concentration levels. The FER2013 dataset, which includes seven emotion classifications and comprises 28,709 images for training data, is used as the database. The data is processed through rescaling and augmentation to prepare the CNN model. The model consists of several convolutional layers, pooling layers, and fully connected layers designed to extract crucial features from facial images. Evaluation results demonstrate a very high accuracy of 94.95% on training data, indicating that the model effectively recognizes complex patterns within the data. Although there is a higher loss value of 157% and a decreased accuracy of 62.75% on validation data, this suggests that the model possesses a strong foundational capability and can still be improved through further adjustments. With high accuracy in training and promising validation results, the model shows substantial potential for real-world application, where it can assist teachers in understanding students' emotional responses in real-time. The implementation of CNN aids educators in comprehending students' emotional responses and adapting their teaching methods more effectively, thereby creating a more conducive learning environment and enhancing students' academic and social development. These findings also open opportunities for further research to improve the performance and generalization of the model on unseen data, making this technology an increasingly reliable tool in education

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah dalam pembelajaran IPAS di SDN 04 Koto Tuo, di mana metode pembelajaran yang dominan ceramah dan fokus pada guru menyebabkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi terbatas. Selain itu, media pembelajaran yang kurang variatif dan hanya bergantung pada buku LKS berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang banyak berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) serta kesulitan siswa dalam menjawab soal latihan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, penelitian ini merancang media pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi menggunakan aplikasi Construct 3, yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan proses pembelajaran IPAS di kelas IV. Metode Research and Development (R&D) diterapkan dalam penelitian ini dengan lima tahapan ADDIE, yaitu Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Uji produk meliputi uji validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas menggunakan rumus Aiken's V, Moment Kappa, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai uji validitas sebesar 0,89 oleh dua ahli konstruksi, satu ahli kebahasaan, dan satu ahli konten yang diberikan valid, uji praktikalitas oleh dua guru menghasilkan nilai 0,93 yang sangat tinggi, dan uji efektivitas oleh tujuh belas siswa memperoleh nilai 0,86 dengan tingkat efektif tinggi. Dengan demikian, aplikasi media pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi untuk mata pelajaran IPAS di kelas IV SDN 04 Koto Tuo dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Improving the competence of teachers at Campago Ipuh Elementary School, Bukittinggi still faces challenges in utilizing technology for interactive learning. Along with the development of the era, the use of digital tools in the learning process is important to improve the quality of education. Therefore, training is needed for teachers to optimize the use of digital technology in teaching. The purpose of this service is to improve the competence of elementary school teachers in utilizing digital tools in interactive learning. The methodology used is training and mentoring in the form of workshops that teach the use of various digital learning applications, as well as providing simulations of the use of these tools in everyday learning. The results obtained show a significant increase in teachers' ability to use digital technology, especially in designing more interesting and effective interactive learning. Teachers are also more confident in integrating technology in the classroom. In conclusion, the use of digital tools has proven effective in improving teacher competence and learning quality. The recommendation from this activity is that similar training be carried out continuously and involve more teachers in other areas.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the odd semester of 2023/2024, where the author collected student data and grades. The data were then processed and analyzed to determine the impact of video tutorials on student learning outcomes in Physical Education (PJOK). The required data collection took place in July 2023, and the study was conducted in both the experimental and control classes to assess the impact on learning outcomes. The average cognitive learning outcomes obtained through the post-test between the control and experimental classes can be used to determine the extent of the differences in learning outcomes in PJOK between students taught through video tutorials and those not taught through video tutorials.
