Abstract

This article discusses the influence of Ibn Hazm (384 H - 456 H) on Islamic education in Andalusia, one of the centers of Islamic civilization during the Middle Ages. Ibn Hazm is known as a great scholar who made significant contributions to the development of science, philosophy, and education. The focus of this research is to explore Ibn Hazm's ideas and thoughts related to education, particularly in aspects of teaching methodology, the integration of religious and general sciences, and character formation. This research uses a literature study method with a historical approach and descriptive analysis to identify Ibn Hazm's influence on Islamic education. The results show that Ibn Hazm emphasized the importance of rationality, freedom of thought, and the development of noble character in the educational process. Moreover, his ideas hold contemporary relevance in integrating ethical values with knowledge in modern education systems. The article concludes that Ibn Hazm's thoughts provide an important foundation for the renewal of Islamic education, both in the past and in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This article examines Abuddin Nata's thoughts on educational transformation, focusing on philosophical and practical approaches that can improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Abuddin Nata's ideas emphasize the importance of holistic education, which not only develops intellectual aspects but also integrates spiritual and moral values to shape balanced individuals. Through a qualitative approach and literature study, this article discusses key concepts in Abuddin Nata's thought, such as the integration of Islamic values into the curriculum, the role of teachers as agents of change, and the significance of character-based education. The findings show that Abuddin Nata's ideas are relevant in addressing current educational challenges, providing direction for improving the quality of education that focuses not only on academic achievement but also on character and moral development of learners. Thus, the educational transformation in Abuddin Nata's thought offers solutions to create more meaningful and relevant education to meet the needs of the times.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces challenges in producing human resources that are competitive in the era of globalization. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of off-the-job training in improving the competencies of teachers at SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological case study, involving semi-structured interviews with three teachers who have participated in the training. Data were collected to understand participants' experiences, the contribution of the training to professional development, and the application of acquired skills. The results indicate that diverse training methods, such as games and simulations, are highly effective in enhancing pedagogical skills and understanding of the material. Participants reported increased student interest and engagement, as well as positive responses to the teaching methods applied. This research emphasizes the importance of continuous training to support teachers' professional development, which in turn will improve the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan, terdapat hubungan yang erat antara pendidikan dan kurikulum. Esensi dari kurikulum adalah acuan sebuah lembaga untuk membentuk citra dan aturan sekolah untuk mewujudkan cita-cita dan tujuan yang telah dirancang. Pada dasarnya sebuah kurikulum dibentuk dan dirancang untuk dapat mewujudkan peserta didik yang mencakup seluruh aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Sebuah kurikulum harus memiliki kesesuaian antara kurikulum dengan tuntutan, kebutuhan, kondisi, dan perkembangan masyarakat. yaitu isi yang sesuai dengan tujuan, serta evaluasi yang sesuai dengan proses, isi, dan tujuan kurikulum. Fungsi kurikulum dalam rangka mencapai tujuan bagi pendidik, fungsi kurikulum bagi kepala sekolah, fungsi kurikulum bagi orang tua, fungsi kurikulum bagi sekolah di atasnya, fungsi bagi masyarakat dan lulusan sekolah. Kedudukan kurikulum dalam pendidikan adalah adanya rancangan atau kurikulum yang bersifat formal dan tertulis yang merupakan ciri utama pendidikan di sekolah. Dengan kata lain, kurikulum merupakan syarat mutlak bagi pendidikan di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah kajian pustaka dengan analisis isi (content analysis) yang diambil dari berbagai literatur yang dikaji dengan menggunakan pendekatan teoritis dan filosofis.
