Abstract

Scientific interpretation is an approach to the interpretation of the Qur'an that utilizes modern scientific knowledge as an instrument to understand verses related to natural phenomena and natural laws. This article explores the role of scientific interpretation in bridging religious texts with science and its contribution to the development of science itself. The method used is a literature review and critical analysis of the relevance of Qur'anic verses to modern science. The results of the study show that scientific interpretation has the potential to expand the scientific horizons of Muslims and facilitate constructive dialogue between religion and science. In addition, this approach can significantly contribute to understanding the complexity of the relationship between religious texts and contemporary scientific discoveries. Nevertheless, the study also highlights the methodological and interpretive challenges faced in applying scientific interpretation, including the risk of subjectivity and bias in understanding the text. Therefore, a careful, systematic, and principle-based approach is needed to maximize the benefits of scientific interpretation. This article concludes that scientific interpretation has excellent potential to be an effective tool in developing science while strengthening the understanding of Islam that is relevant to the context of the times.

Abstract

The practice of stunning animals before slaughter has sparked significant debate within Islamic jurisprudence, particularly regarding its compatibility with halal requirements. This article examines the controversy surrounding stunning animal slaughter from the perspective of fiqh (Islamic legal thought) and contemporary fatwa issued by Indonesian ulama (Islamic scholars). Drawing upon primary sources, including fatwas and scholarly discourse, this research highlights the diverse opinions among Islamic scholars on the permissibility and ethicality of stunning. It explores key issues such as the interpretation of Quranic verses and hadiths related to animal welfare, the definition of a valid slaughter in Islamic law, and the socio-economic impacts of stunning on Indonesia’s meat industry. By analyzing the legal and ethical dimensions of stunning, the article contributes to the broader discussion of halal standards in the modern context and provides insights into how the Indonesian ulama navigates the balance between tradition and contemporary practices. The findings underscore the ongoing need for clarity and consensus on the issue, as divergent rulings affect both religious observance and the livestock market.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali strategi orang tua di Gampong Tanjung Deah Darussalam dalam mengelola penggunaan gadget pada anak usia dini, dengan fokus pada aspek perencanaan, upaya pelaksanaan, dan tantangan yang dihadapi. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif digunakan untuk mendalami pengalaman dan perspektif orang tua terkait isu ini. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan sejumlah orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini, serta observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar orang tua di Gampong Tanjung Deah Darussalam memiliki kesadaran yang tinggi terhadap pentingnya pembatasan penggunaan gadget bagi anak. Orang tua melakukan perencanaan melalui pembatasan waktu, pemilihan konten edukatif, dan pendampingan saat anak menggunakan gadget. Selain itu, usaha-usaha seperti penyediaan alternatif aktivitas fisik dan sosial serta penerapan sistem reward dan punishment menjadi bagian dari strategi mereka dalam menjaga keseimbangan penggunaan gadget. Namun, beberapa kendala juga ditemukan, antara lain kesulitan konsistensi dalam menerapkan aturan, tekanan sosial dari lingkungan, dan keterbatasan pengetahuan teknologi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan gadget pada anak usia dini tidak hanya memerlukan peran aktif orang tua, tetapi juga dukungan dari lingkungan sosial dan edukasi terkait fitur pengaturan teknologi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas kebijakan dan implementasi integrasi ilmu agama dan ilmu umum di UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, sebagai langkah untuk mengatasi dikotomi ilmu pengetahuan yang sering kali memisahkan ranah spiritual dan intelektual dalam pendidikan tinggi Islam. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengkaji kebijakan resmi universitas, struktur kurikulum, serta praktik pengajaran yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa UIN Ar-Raniry memiliki kebijakan yang secara eksplisit menekankan pentingnya penggabungan nilai-nilai Islam dengan keilmuan modern, yang tercermin dalam visi dan misi institusi, serta didukung oleh kurikulum interdisipliner pada berbagai program studi. Implementasi integrasi ini diwujudkan melalui mata kuliah yang mengombinasikan perspektif Islam dan ilmu umum. Kebijakan ini menunjukkan komitmen yang kuat dalam membentuk lulusan yang memiliki pemahaman holistik dan mampu menghadapi tantangan kontemporer dengan landasan nilai-nilai Islam

Abstract

This article analyzes the foundational framework of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas's educational thought as a critical response to contemporary Islamic education's epistemological and moral crises. Al-Attas highlights the centrality of ta’dib as the essence of Islamic education, encompassing the internalization of Islamic values and ethics to shape individuals with adab and wisdom. His concept of the Islamization of knowledge serves as a strategic approach to filter Western secular influences in educational paradigms. This study employs a qualitative-conceptual approach through literature analysis of Al-Attas’s major works. The findings reveal that Al-Attas's thought is highly relevant for reconstructing a holistic, value-oriented, and spiritually grounded Islamic education system. This article contributes to developing an authentic and contextual philosophy of Islamic education amid the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

The digital revolution has brought significant changes to the world of education, including Islamic Religious Education, requiring teachers to master digital literacy, pedagogy, and content. This study explores teacher literacy's impact on character development in Islamic Religious Education during the digital era. Using a qualitative approach with a library research method, this study analyzes literature on teacher literacy, character education, and educational technology. The findings indicate that teachers' digital literacy influences teaching quality and the effectiveness of character education. Teachers with high digital literacy can leverage digital tools to create interactive and meaningful learning experiences. In contrast, those with low digital literacy tend to rely on traditional methods less relevant to students' needs in the digital age. Key challenges identified include limited access to technology, lack of digital literacy training, and cultural resistance to modern technology. This study recommends continuous training, the provision of technological infrastructure, and curriculum development that integrates Islamic values with digital approaches to enhance the effectiveness of character education.

Abstract

Periode prasekolah merupakan fase penting dalam perkembangan kognitif, emosional, sosial, dan spiritual anak. Dalam perspektif Islam, masa ini dikaitkan dengan konsep fitrah, yaitu kecenderungan bawaan manusia terhadap keimanan kepada Allah. Pendidikan agama sejak dini berperan penting dalam membentuk fondasi keberagamaan anak melalui pembiasaan, keteladanan, dan pengalaman emosional yang positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi tahapan perkembangan keberagamaan anak usia dini, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya, serta strategi pendidikan Islam yang efektif dalam membangun spiritualitas mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dari sumber primer, seperti Al-Qur’an, Hadis, dan pemikiran ulama klasik, serta sumber sekunder berupa jurnal akademik dan teori psikologi perkembangan anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan keberagamaan anak pada usia dini melalui beberapa tahap utama, yakni pengenalan konsep tauhid, pemahaman dasar ibadah, dan pembentukan akhlak Islami. Faktor utama yang mempengaruhi perkembangan ini meliputi peran keluarga sebagai madrasah pertama, lingkungan sosial yang mendukung, serta metode pendidikan yang digunakan. Pendidikan Islam yang efektif harus mengintegrasikan berbagai pendekatan, seperti uswah hasanah (keteladanan), pendekatan kisah Islami, pembelajaran berbasis Al-Qur’an dan Hadis, serta penggunaan seni dan lagu Islami.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia is confronted with a critical challenge in cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual independence among students. Entrenched in rigid and traditionalist pedagogical models, the system often fails to accommodate the dynamic and creative dimensions of human potential, resulting in educational stagnation and diminished societal relevance. This study addresses this issue by exploring the epistemological reconstruction of Islamic education, aiming to develop a transformative educational framework rooted in creativity, rationality, and moral responsibility. The study integrates insights from classical Islamic scholarship and modern educational theory by employing a qualitative methodology based on a comprehensive literature review and analytical-reflective analysis. The proposed model emphasizes the need to deconstruct the dichotomy between religious and scientific knowledge, promote epistemological universality, and adopt pluralistic, student-centered learning approaches. The findings reveal that revitalizing Islamic education through such a framework can foster pious, creative, autonomous, and socially engaged learners. Ultimately, this article argues for an educational paradigm that does not merely preserve religious tradition but actively prepares individuals to become ethical contributors to a just, inclusive, and civilized society. The study also highlights the importance of further research to test this model in real institutional contexts.
