Abstract

Education in Islam, which is the most essential part of the historical journey of man, is essentially an effort to maintain and mature values and potential humanitarian grounds. Those values include: freedom, dynamism, otonomism, creativism, progressivism and responsibelism. In addition, the educational process is also instill the values and awareness of all forms of authoritarianism resistance against humanity, and other forms of oppression of pluralism and violations of human rights. Therefore, educational efforts that merely focuses on the process of Transferring knowledge, the formation of learners loyalty, and respect for authority and social elitism, as well as the denial of the plurality of human life is a fundamental error in the construction of Islamic education. Addressing the fundamental error, the author tries to establish a theological construction for buildings of Islamic education that is based on the command iqra'. This command confirms how humans must continue to educate themselves to be able to get out of the pitfalls of humanity that tends to position itself replaces God in a negative sense, which seeks to make the shackles of human freedom and run the historicity through oppression. Then the educational process and then try reconstructed is an educational process always try refreshing awareness dimensions of human values, through exploring critical and creative dimension of Islam to be a philosophical foundation and at the same time necessary to build the spirit of resistance in the spirit of learners against all forms business education and social realities that do not respect human as the owner of all values and basic human rights that should always be maintained. Through the paradigm of resistance, Islamic education that is built to be able to liberate and remove Muslims who today seemed to be falling into a rut of underdevelopment and social humiliation, towards the establishment of civilization and the community owner exemplary centers. Thus, the mission of the revelation of Islam that should be Khaira ummatin rahmatan lil 'alamin can be expected to be realized through the resistance education. Pendidikan dalam ajaran Islam, yang merupakan bagian paling esensial dalam perjalanan historis manusia, pada hakikatnya adalah usaha menjaga dan mendewasakan nilai-nilai dan potensi dasar kemanusiaan. Nilai-nilai tersebut meliputi: kebebasan, dinamisme, otonomisme, kreativisme, progresivisme dan responsibelisme. Di samping itu, proses pendidikan juga menanamkan nilai-nilai dan kesadaran perlawanan atas segala bentuk otoritarianisme kemanusiaan, serta bentuk-bentuk penindasan atas pluralisme dan pelanggaran hak-hak asasi manusia. Oleh karena itu, usaha pendidikan yang sekedar berfokus pada proses transfering knowledge, pembentukan loyalitas peserta didik, dan penghormatan atas otoritas dan elitisme sosial, serta pengingkaran atas pluralitas kehidupan manusia adalah sebuah kesalahan mendasar dalam konstruksi pendidikan Islam. Menyikapi kesalahan mendasar itu, penulis mencoba membangun suatu konstruksi teologis bagi bangunan pendidikan Islam yang didasarkan pada perintah iqra’. Perintah ini menegaskan betapa manusia harus terus mendidik dirinya agar mampu keluar dari jebakan-jebakan kemanusiaan yang cendrung memposisikan dirinya menggantikan Tuhan dalam makna yang negatif, yang berupaya membuat belenggu-belenggu bagi kebebasan manusia dan menjalankan historisitas melalui penindasan. Maka proses pendidikan yang kemudian coba direkonstruksi adalah proses pendidikan yang selalu mencoba menyegarkan kesadaran akan dimensi nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, melalui pengeksplorasian dimensi kritis dan kreatif ajaran Islam untuk dijadikan landasan filosofisnya Dan di saat yang sama niscaya membangun semangat perlawanan dalam jiwa peserta didik terhadap segala bentuk usaha pendidikan dan realitas sosial yang tidak menghargai manusia sebagai pemilik segala nilai dan hak-hak dasar manusia yang senantiasa harus dipelihara. Melalui paradigma perlawanan, pendidikan Islam yang dibangun akan mampu membebaskan dan mengeluarkan muslim yang hari ini tampak sedang terpuruk dalam liang keterbelakangan dan keterhinaan sosial, menuju terbentuknya komunitas pemilik peradaban yang menjadi exemplary centers (pusat-pusat pencontohan). Dengan demikian, misi diturunkannya ajaran Islam yang semestinya menjadi khaira ummatin yang rahmatan lil ’alamin dapat diharapkan terwujudkan melalui pendidikan perlawanan tersebut.

Abstract

The massive social and humanitarian disasters and tragedies currently occurring in this country are a consequence of the failure of the social function of school institutions in educating the spiritual substance of humanity. So far, school has been run as a teaching vehicle that focuses more on and emphasizes the issues of mastering scientific information, the formation of skills, expertise and professionalism that are dry of human values. Meanwhile, the spiritual dimension of humans, which is more directed towards the formation of social awareness and sensitivity, is overlooked by school institutions, as something that is most essential in the educational process in schools. This can happen after educational stakeholders have both been absorbed by the spirit and life orientation of pragmatism-materialism. So that interpersonal relationships between school alumni and members of the wider community who live around them become counter-productive, oppressive, subjugating and even tend to prey on each other (vulture culture). So social disasters and tragedies spread in various variants. School institutions should be understood as social institutions, where all educational processes that take place within them must adhere firmly to basic human principles and values ​​which are autonomous, relative, unique, dynamic and free/independent and responsible. The logical consequence is that students must be placed as subjects who have the right to freedom of self-actualization and choose their future correctly, intelligently, independently and responsibly. Teachers only function as motivators, facilitators and moderators who provide them with various information that can awaken the students' human souls. So that in the end, school alumni do not just have physical and physical abilities and skills for the five senses, but the human side in the context of understanding "plus senses" can grow, develop and be embedded in their human soul, something that encourages the birth of appropriate behavior. with true human identity. So that then every school alumni can become a social agent who reconciles and prospers life together, which is mutual in all aspects of humanity and life.

Abstract

Ada banyak metode pengajaran yang digunakan oleh guru di sekolah. Salah satunya adalah metode diskusi. Metode ini menekankan interaksi antara teman sebaya dan juga guru dalam berdiskusi atau mencari solusi atas materi pembelajaran. Jika dilakukan dengan benar, metode diskusi ini dapat mendorong siswa untuk berpikir atau mengemukakan pendapatnya sendiri, sehingga juga melatih mereka untuk berpikir kritis dan percaya diri. Dalam pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam, modus diskusinya tidak hanya diskusi atau diskusi biasa, tetapi diskusi terjadi karena ada topik yang membutuhkan jawaban atau pendapat yang berbeda. Hal ini diperlukan bagi siswa masa depan, tidak hanya karena orang selalu menghadapi masalah yang berbeda yang tidak dapat diselesaikan sendiri, tetapi juga karena kerja sama atau refleksi dapat menghasilkan solusi yang lebih baik. Menerapkan metode diskusi yang dilakukan oleh siswa terutama di bawah bimbingan guru, sedangkan pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam dianggap sebagai salah satu cara yang tepat untuk menyalurkan informasi yang bermanfaat dan pemahaman yang lebih dalam.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia is confronted with a critical challenge in cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual independence among students. Entrenched in rigid and traditionalist pedagogical models, the system often fails to accommodate the dynamic and creative dimensions of human potential, resulting in educational stagnation and diminished societal relevance. This study addresses this issue by exploring the epistemological reconstruction of Islamic education, aiming to develop a transformative educational framework rooted in creativity, rationality, and moral responsibility. The study integrates insights from classical Islamic scholarship and modern educational theory by employing a qualitative methodology based on a comprehensive literature review and analytical-reflective analysis. The proposed model emphasizes the need to deconstruct the dichotomy between religious and scientific knowledge, promote epistemological universality, and adopt pluralistic, student-centered learning approaches. The findings reveal that revitalizing Islamic education through such a framework can foster pious, creative, autonomous, and socially engaged learners. Ultimately, this article argues for an educational paradigm that does not merely preserve religious tradition but actively prepares individuals to become ethical contributors to a just, inclusive, and civilized society. The study also highlights the importance of further research to test this model in real institutional contexts.

Abstract

This research aimed at identifying the challenges faced by higher education institutions, particularly in terms of the quality of educational staff such as lecturers and exploring efforts that can be undertaken to enhance lecturer competence in supporting the quality of higher education. This study employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The subject of this research was the Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Data collection techniques involved observation and interviews with the university's leadership, faculty deans, program directors, and lecturers. Meanwhile, data analysis in this study was carried out cyclically, consisting of three simultaneous activities: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verifying the data. The findings revealed several challenges in enhancing lecturer competence, such as rapid technological changes, student diversity, and balancing teaching, research, and administrative duties. However, various efforts have been made to address these challenges. The higher education institution has launched competency development programs encompassing training, academic mentoring, relevant curriculum development, and industry collaboration. Improving lecturer competence will benefit students and the institution, help accelerate the overall development of higher education institutions, and help achieve national development goals.
