Reciprocal Teaching has four techniques. They are predicting, questioning, clarifying, And summarizing. The researcher used quantitative research, one group pre-test post-test . The population of this research is all students of the English department Of Madura University. The sample was one class; the Second grade of the English department. To analyzing the data, the researcher used SPSS V.16. This research was conducted by giving a pre-test, applying an experiment using reciprocal teaching, and giving a post-test. The data were analyzed using the t-test formula to determine the effectiveness of using reciprocal teaching. The results showed that the average value of the pre-test was 47.4 then after being given the reciprocal teaching technique, the students were given a post-test with an average score of 89.9. The value of the Normality test using the reciprocal teaching technique is 0.795 > 0.05 (Asymp. Sig. (2tailed)). Then, for the significant homogeneity test 0.205 > 0.05 (Asymp. Sig. (2tailed)). Then, for the Hypothesis Test value of (0.000) < 0.005 (Asymp. Sig. (2tailed)) So there is a significant difference between learning descriptive text not using reciprocal teaching technique and descriptive text learning using a reciprocal teaching technique.

The result of study showed students complained about pronunciation, unfamiliar words, and memorize as their difficulties in enriching vocabulary. While techniques to overcome that difficulties, they are word list and song that is applied by students and modification of memorize that is applied by teacher. Students are expected to manage the way of learning, and also what will they do to avoid the possibility of difficulties they can face.

Abstract

The general question of this research: do the students’ who taught by using pre-questioning technique has better achievement than the students’ who taught by using the traditional technique? The researcher used Quasi-Experimental design. Because the research conducted in a school situation, it is necessary to use groups as they are already organized into classes. Furthermore, both of the student groups are determined as Experiment Group (X) and Control Group (Y). Experiment group (VII-A class) is a group which taught by using the pre-questioning technique, while the control group (VII-B) is a group which taught by using conventional technique. The instruments used to collect data are pretest and posttest. After getting the result data, the researcher used ANCOVA to calculate it, the result of computed F value. The hypothesis testing showed that there is a significant difference in reading achievement between the students’ taught by using Pre-questioning technique and the students’ taught by using Conventional technique. The students’ who taught by using Pre-questioning technique have better achievement than the students’ taught by using the conventional technique. It was proved from the computation where computed F-value (16.668) was higher than the F-critical value (4.00) in 0.05 level of significance. It meant that Ha was accepted.

This study employs an ex-post facto research method, using a quantitative approach; it emphasizes how past behavior might be used to anticipate future events. The sample approach is proportional stratified random sampling. To analyse the data, a simple regression approach was applied. The study's findings reveal that the percentage of students who are anxious about studying English at Madura University's English Department is not very high, at 0.64 (64%). The degree of anxiety among students affects their ability to produce English. those with low levels of anxiety will do better in English than those with high levels of anxiety. Abstract

The teacher's self-regulation in solving problems with contradictory information needs to be investigated because this certainly has an impact on students' self-regulation abilities. However, research related to this is still limited. Problem with Contradiction Information (PWCI) is appropriate to view self-regulation. This research is a case study which involved teachers in East Java, Indonesia and already have an educator certificate. There are 24 teachers as participants of this research, 14 females and 10 males. The objectives of this study describe how the teacher's response when completing PWCI and how the teacher's self-regulation when solving PWCI. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The results show that (1) There are two types of teacher responses in completing PWCI, the first type is the teacher who answers the questions directly without checking the provided information, the second type is the teacher who is thorough and cross-checks before working on the questions, (2) The emergence of self-assessment teacher regulation when completing PWCI is divided into four, namely, teacher self-regulation appears at the stage of understanding, implementing, re-checking and does not appear when completing PWCI. Most of the teachers are not aware of the contradictions in the questions given.
