Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of students' critical thinking abilities with high mathematics abilities in solving functional problems at SMAN 1 Pamekasan. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Pamekasan with the research subjects of 3 students with high math abilities from 36 students of class X-F. This research is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data is collected through test methods, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study explain that in solving the function problems in the form of a story about the linear function of the three subjects able to fulfill all indicators of critical thinking, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. However, the three subjects have different critical thinking abilities when solving problems in the form of stories about quadratic function. The difference is the first subject meets all indicators of critical thinking, the second subject meets all critical thinking indicators except inference and self-regulation indicators, while the third subject only fulfills evaluation and explanation indicators. Information about the description of students' critical thinking abilities with high mathematics ability can be used as information to design the right learning process in the world of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran lingkungan bahasa dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris lisan santri di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid Paiton. Lingkungan bahasa meliputi interaksi santri dengan sesama santri dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris, peran interaksi santri dengan ustad dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris, dan peran interaksi santri dengan sesama santri dan interaksi santri dengan ustad secara bersamaan dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa kedua lisansantri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex post facto. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh santri di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid Kompleks E Paiton yakni 130 santri. Sampel sebesar 95 santri ditentukan dengan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dan tes kompetensi berbicara dengan teknik wawancara yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresiganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran interaksi santri dengan sesama santri dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris adalah rendah (0,192), peran interaksi santri dengan ustad dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris adalah rendah (0,224), peran interaksi santri dengan dengan sesama santri dan interaksi santri dengan ustad secara bersamaan dalam pemerolehan bahasa Inggris adalah rendah (0,285). Interaksi yang dilakukan santri dengan sesama santri dan ustad berpengaruh terhadap pemerolehan bahasa Inggris. Santri yang sering berinteraksi dengan bahasa Inggris memperoleh input yang lebih banyak dan mempunyai kelancaran atau kefasihan yang lebih baik dari pada santri yang tidak atau jarang berinteraksi dengan bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This study examined the role of speech style between teachers and students in learning English. This study was ex post facto research, using quantitative approach. The students at English Department of Madura University, Indonesia were the population in this research. A sample was decided using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by simple regression technique. The result of the study showed that the role of speech style between the teachers and the students in learning English is 0.62 (62%). The speech styles of the teachers and students work on students’ proficiency level in English. Conducive classroom in language learning is the requirement of the right speech styles of the teachers and the students. It makes necessary for the teachers to provide students with suitable speech style with the contexts in order to put up the classroom serving the students with substantial input.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that are less attractive to students who attend Islamic boarding schools. They assume that mathematics has nothing to do with Islamic values. Whereas mathematics material has a relationship with Islamic values such as the material for arithmetic sequences and series. In this case, a teacher needs to use the right learning model to deliver the subject matter, for example with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model. RME is a model of mathematics learning that can connect mathematics learning objects with real life so that students can easily understand mathematics. This study aims to describe the effect of internalizing Islamic values in mathematics learning through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model in arithmetic sequences and series subjects which were carried out for two meetings. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with the research subjects are 29 students of class XI IPA MA Matsaratul Huda. Data collection techniques used teacher and student activity observation sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, documentation, and test sheets. The results of the observation data analysis of teacher and student activities can be categorized as "very good" and students also respond "positively" to learning. From the results of student learning tests can be said to be "complete" classically with the results of 89.65% 85%. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that the internalization of Islamic values in mathematics learning through Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) affects student learning activities and outcomes and helps students understand the material and can provide new knowledge about the relationship between mathematics and Islamic values. This research can be used as an alternative in providing better learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model Realistic Mathematic Education pada materi barisan dan deret aritmetika berbasis kehidupan Islami Pondok Pesantren yang dilakukan selama dua kali pertemuan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas XI IPA MA Matsaratul Huda. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, angket respon siswa, dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil analisis data observasi aktivitas guru memperoleh nilai akhir  dan hasil analisis data observasi aktivitas siswa memperoleh nilai akhir . Selain itu, siswa juga merespon “Positif” terhadap pembelajaran dengan persentase . Secara klasikal hasil tes belajar siswa memperoleh hasil  sehingga ketuntasan belajar siswa dapat dikatakan “Tuntas”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa pembelajaran matematika melalui Realistic Mathematic Education dapat membantu siswa memahami materi dan dapat memberikan pengetahuan baru tentang hubungan matematika dan kehidupan nyata yang berbasis Islami di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of scaffolding in mathematics learning in inclusion classes. This research uses qualitative descriptive method and data collection technique is done by observation, interview and documentation. Then the data that have been collected is analyzed by the reduction stage, presentation and conclusion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that Scaffolding used in this research refers to Anghilery scaffolding which consists of 3 levels, namely (1) Environmental Provisions, level (2) Explaining, Reviewing and Restructuring and Leveling (3) Developing Conceptual Thinking. Scaffolding given to students with Special Needs during the learning process in the inclusion class depends on the level of mistakes made by students with Special Needs.The error is seen from the results of working instrument before being given scaffolding. Then from the mistakes,  the teacher provides scaffolding to students with special needs according to their needs to correct their mistakes.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menganalisis berbagai bentuk tugas baru guru di abad yang serba canggih dan bagaimana guru harus dapat bertransformasi mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Keberadaan Information Communication and Information (ICT) yang melejit mengubah banyak hal, mulai dari kehidupan sosial sampai pendidikan, dimana peran guru sangat menentukan bagaimana semua aspek tersebut tetap berjalan dengan baik tanpa harus menolak segala perubahan yang hampir selalu terjadi. Abstract

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan-kesulitan yang di hadapi guru di Madura khususnya MTs Raudhatul Ulum in Kapedi di dalam pembelajaran speaking dan mendeskripsikan cara yang dilakukan guru dalam memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran speaking. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitative dengan menggunakan pendekatan case study. Teknik pengumpulan datan yang digunakan adalah observasi, interview, dan dokumentasi. Coding, simplifying, displaying, dan summarizing data merupakan langkah-langkah dalam melakukan analisis data dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masalah atau kesulitan yang di hadapi guru di Madura dalam pembelajaran speaking adalah negative mindset dan ketertarikan siswa terhadap bahasa Inggris. Memotivasi siswa, mencampur dan mengalihkan kode, dan menggunakan strategi yang inovatif merupakan cara yang dilakukan guru dalam memecahkan kesulitan yang dihadapi. Dengan demikian, penting bagi guru beradaptasi dengan cara memodifikasi pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran speaking. Keywords: Madura, kesulitan, belajar, speaking, pembelajaran Abstract:The purpose of the study is to describe the Madurese teachers’ difficulties in speaking at MTs Raudhatul Ulum in Kapedi. It also aims to describe the ways of the teachers overcoming those difficulties in speaking. This study is qualitative research. This research uses case study approach. Observation, interview, and documentation are the technique used in collecting the data. In analyzing the data, coding, simplifying, displaying, and summarizing the data are used. The results show that the teachers have two kinds of difficulties they are the students’ negative mindset in English and the students’ interest toward English. The teachers are using three kinds of solution to solve those problems those are giving spirit, mixing the language, and using innovative strategy. Therefore, it implies that teachers should go well with the circumstance by modifying their approach in speaking.Keywords: Madurese, difficulties, learning, speaking, instruction

Abstract

This study is to find out the effect of COVID 19 pandemic on English proficiency .This research is an experimental research using quantitative approach. The students in higher education are as parts of population in this research. A random sampling technique is used to decide the sampling size. The subjects of this study are 36 students. The data are analyzed by paired t test technique.  The result of the study shows sig (p) is significant. It is smaller than 0.05 (it is 0.000). The difference can be considered true. The mean is 59.30 before COVID 19; 49.33 is the mean during COVID 19. It indicates that the students at higher education with before COVID 19 pandemic have better English aptitude than in COVID 19 virus. It implies that the teachers and members of educational society in higher education be supposed to assist out students with the suitable atmosphere to be of assistance students with consequential input in addition to offer students with interface in an attempt to the regularity of experiencing English; additionally, it is suggested that the members of scholar society are being release significant input for the students.
