Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Femoral collum fractures are a common injury in the geriatric population, particularly postmenopausal women with osteoporosis. The intracapsular location of the fracture and proximity to the blood supply of the femoral head increases the risk of complications such as non-union and avascular necrosis. Early and appropriate treatment is essential to minimize long-term functional impact. Case Illustration: A 67-year-old woman experienced severe pain in the right hip after slipping while mopping the floor. The patient was unable to stand or walk after the incident. History showed osteoporosis which was not treated regularly. Radiologic examination revealed a right collum femur fracture with Garden type IV classification. The patient underwent arthroplasty bipolar and a gradual physiotherapy rehabilitation program for six months. Discussion: This case illustrates a common pattern of osteoporotic fractures in the elderly, where minor trauma can cause severe damage to the bone. The selection of arthroplasty is appropriate to the patient's bone condition and fracture type, providing stability and allowing early mobilization. Intensive rehabilitation has been shown to support functional recovery. Long-term management of osteoporosis with antiresorptive therapy such as zoledronate, patient education, and environmental modification are also important for the prevention of recurrent fractures. Conclusion: A comprehensive approach that includes surgery, early rehabilitation, and management of osteoporosis can result in a better.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is prone to natural disasters. Landslide disaster are the 3rd highest disaster intensitas in Indonesia that happened in 2020. According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Indonesia experienced 12,254 disasters during the period 2015 to 2019. Various kinds of disasters such as floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions occur and usually have impacts that make it difficult for people to get aid, one of which is food. Providing emergency food easy to consume and contains high calories is important to do and to increase the nation's food security. The development of emergency food based on local products has been widely explored. Method The study is a literature review with the keywords food resilient, landslides, emergency food product, food bars in several databases such as proquest, science direct, pubmed, and google scholar.Result The study aimed to review food bars as food resilient using lokal food ingredients during landslide disaster.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative condition characterized by cartilage destruction, subchondral bone changes, and inflammation, which can impair the quality of life of sufferers. This review aims to analyze the role of inflammation in the development of OA. The method used included a literature search of international and national databases for articles published in the last five years. The results showed that risk factors, such as age, obesity and trauma, can trigger the inflammatory process by involving pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNF-α. Interventions for OA include pharmacological therapies, such as NSAIDs and corticosteroids, as well as non-pharmacological approaches through lifestyle modification. This review concludes that OA management requires an integrated approach to address inflammation and symptoms. A deeper understanding of the mechanisms of inflammation may support the development of more effective and efficient treatment strategies. Keywords: Osteoarthritis, inflammation pro-inflammatory cytokines, pharmacologic therapy, lifestyle modification.
