Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by abnormal blood sugar levels whose prevalence is increasing in Indonesia, including in Tasikmalaya City. Based on the Tasikmalaya City Health Office report in 2023, there were 11,782 DM patients, with 744 cases recorded in the Tawang Health Center working area. Tawangsari Village, namely RW 01, has health problems related to DM where people are less aware of the importance of implementing a healthy lifestyle, especially doing physical activity and limited posyandu services. The purpose of this “SEMANGGI” program is to increase community knowledge and awareness about DM prevention through education and joint gymnastics. The method used was participatory-based, involving health education through lectures, questions and answers, and the completion of pre-test and post-test to measure knowledge improvement. In addition, joint exercises designed to support a healthy lifestyle were conducted. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in community knowledge scores from an average of 2.65 in the pre-test to 4.45 in the post-test (p<0.001). This program demonstrates the effectiveness of participatory-based community empowerment in improving knowledge and promoting a healthy lifestyle to prevent DM. The sustainability of activities like this is needed to optimize its positive impact on public health.

Abstract

DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever) is a disease caused by the aedes virus. WHO states that 4,000 people worldwide have died from DHF, Banjar City in 2024 had 387 cases of DHF. Based on the results of community diagnosis using the ultrasound method, it has been determined that the priority health problem is DHF (Dengue Fever). Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, it was found that the determinant factor of the health problem is non-compliance with the 3M Plus PSN which includes: empty houses are not maintained with damp and dark conditions, the community does not understand and has not implemented the 3M Plus PSN at home, and the community only recognizes DHF prevention efforts limited to fogging. Therefore, we designed innovations through the LASKAR DBD program (Collaborative Strategic Steps for Dengue Fever) with the implementation of activities in the form of revitalizing the DBD center building as a place for socialization and counseling about dengue, fishization by giving guppy fish as larvae-eating fish, held a SAMBEL (Equal Learning) program, namely the installation of 3M Plus PSN stickers in each house as educational material as well as counseling activities for cadres and school children related to DHF, then held a BALADO program (Together Fighting Dengue with ovitrap) which is a modified SAMT ovitrap demonstration activity.

Abstract

Personal hygiene during menstruation is important to determine the health of reproductive organs in adolescent girls to avoid infection. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 2023, the number of adolescent girls in Indonesia in the early adolescent stage is more than 21 million. Errors in maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation can increase the risk of reproductive health disorders in adolescent girls. The purpose of this service is to increase the knowledge and awareness of adolescent girls about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. The method used was an interactive lecture using an educational and participatory approach. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in knowledge scores from an average of 2.65 in the pre-test to 9.30 in the post-test (p<0.001). These results reflect that the lecture method with an educational and participatory approach used, as well as the leaflet media, is effective in increasing the understanding of adolescent female students about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation., without any reference or formula.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of a mental health education intervention on the knowledge and attitudes of student organization members at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Siliwangi. The intervention, which included educational sessions and group discussions, was conducted on 22 April 2025 and involved 15 student participants from two student organizations. A pre-test and post-test were administered to measure changes in knowledge and attitudes. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant improvement (p = 0.022) in knowledge scores after the intervention. Attitudes also shifted positively, particularly in aspects of peer support, stress awareness, and healthy lifestyles. The findings indicate that community-based interventions in student organizations can effectively promote mental health literacy and supportive behaviors.
