Abstract

Declining student self-confidence is still a significant problem in the educational landscape, affecting academic achievement, social interaction, and psychological well-being. This study investigates the effectiveness of assertive training as a transformative intervention to increase self-confidence among students at SMAN 2 Palopo. The study, employing a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, focused on 30 students specifically selected for their low self-confidence. The study used observation, a self-confidence scale, and assertive quizzes as data collection methods. Statistical analysis using paired t-tests revealed a significant increase in post-training confidence (p < 0.001), with 53.3% of students categorized as having high self-confidence and 26.7% very high. These results underscore the capacity of assertive training to change students' self-perception and improve assertive communication skills. The study concluded that integrating assertive training into school counseling programs can sustainably foster students' psychological and social development. We suggest future research to explore the long-term effects and adapt the intervention into diverse educational contexts. ____________________________________________________________________Penurunan self confidence siswa masih menjadi masalah yang signifikan dalam lanskap pendidikan, yang memengaruhi prestasi akademik, interaksi sosial, dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Studi ini menyelidiki efektivitas assertive training sebagai intervensi transformatif untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri di kalangan siswa di SMAN 2 Palopo. Dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen One-Group Pretest-Posttest, penelitian ini melibatkan 30 siswa yang dipilih secara sengaja yang diidentifikasi memiliki rasa percaya diri yang rendah. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, skala self confidence, dan kuis asertif. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji-t berpasangan mengungkapkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam rasa percaya diri pasca pelatihan (p < 0,001), dengan 53,3% siswa dikategorikan memiliki rasa percaya diri yang tinggi dan 26,7% sangat tinggi. Hasil ini menggarisbawahi kapasitas pelatihan asertif untuk mengubah persepsi diri siswa dan meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi asertif. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa mengintegrasikan pelatihan asertif ke dalam program konseling sekolah dapat secara berkelanjutan membina perkembangan psikologis dan sosial siswa. Penelitian di masa mendatang disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi efek jangka panjang dan mengadaptasi intervensi ke dalam konteks pendidikan yang beragam.

Abstract

The high rate of early marriage in Terapung Village, Central Buton Regency, is a serious concern in efforts to improve the quality of life of adolescents and break the cycle of poverty and unpreparedness for family. This Community Service (PkM) activity was carried out at MTs Swasta Waburense with an Islamic guidance approach as the main strategy to improve students' understanding of the dangers of early marriage. Through a series of activities in the form of an initial survey, provision of educational materials, group discussions, and spiritual guidance, students were invited to understand the importance of physical, mental, and moral responsibility readiness before entering marriage. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' awareness and attitudes towards the risks of early marriage, as well as a growing commitment to continue their education and postpone marriage until they were truly ready. The Islamic guidance approach has proven effective in touching on students' cognitive and emotional aspects, as well as strengthening spiritual values ​​as a basis for decision making. This activity received full support from the school and community, and is recommended to be adopted sustainably as part of the local curriculum and policy in efforts to prevent early marriage among adolescents.

Abstract

Gadgets are one of the electronic objects that develop so quickly among everyone, both adults and children. The background of this study is based on the rampant use of gadgets by elementary school children, which can affect aspects of their emotional development, both positively and negatively. This study aims to determine the impact of gadget use on students' emotional development at SDN 67 Bangkudu and the factors of gadget use that affect students' emotional development at SDN 67 Bangkudu. This study uses qualitative research methods with student subjects at SDN 67 Bangkudu. The results showed that the Impact of Gadget Use on Student Emotions at SDN 67 Bangkudu uses gadgets a lot to play online games, especially Free Fire, as well as social media such as TikTok and Instagram. This intensive use risks causing addiction and disturbances in emotional, health and educational aspects. As well as Factors Affecting Students' Emotional Development due to Gadgets The three aspects of emotions that are affected are anger, empathy, and social interaction.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the relationship between parenting stress management and the level of parenting stress among young parents. The research sample consisted of 100 young mothers living in Luwu Regency, aged a maximum of 30 years, having children aged 0–6 years, and currently in a marital relationship. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used to measure parenting stress management was the Coping Orientation to Problem Experienced (COPE). The parenting stress variable was measured using the Parental Stress Scale (PSS). Statistical data analysis employed Pearson’s product–moment correlation analysis. The results showed a negative relationship between the two variables, meaning that the better the parenting stress management of young mothers, the lower the level of parenting stress experienced. Conversely, poorer parenting stress management was associated with higher levels of parenting stress. This finding was supported by a correlation coefficient of (r = −0.625) with a significance value of (sig. = 0.000).

Abstract

Bullying remains a serious challenge in educational settings and poses significant risks to students’ psychological well-being, academic engagement, and social development. This study aimed to explore the role of Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in preventing bullying at MTsN Kota Palopo. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of preventive practices implemented in the madrasah context. The participants included GC teachers as primary informants, as well as homeroom teachers, the school principal, and students as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that GC teachers play multiple roles in bullying prevention, functioning as trusted companions, mediators, and supervisors. Preventive efforts were implemented through individual counseling services, classroom guidance, information services, and the integration of Islamic values in counseling practices. Bullying prevention strategies also included Stop Bullying socialization during student orientation activities (Matsama), daily classroom monitoring, and close collaboration with parents and homeroom teachers. Furthermore, the study identified that bullying behavior is influenced by individual factors, family background, and the school environment. The results indicate that effective bullying prevention requires an integrative strategy that combines psychological approaches, religious values, and collaborative efforts among school stakeholders. This study highlights the strategic role of GC teachers in creating a safe, supportive, and bullying-free school environment and provides practical implications for strengthening preventive counseling services in madrasah settings.
