Abstract

Simvastatin adalah obat yang bekerja dengan cara menghambat enzim HMG-CoA reduktase yang berperan penting dalam sintesis kolesterol di hati. Simvastatin tersedia dalam berbagai dosis dan dapat dikonsumsi bersama obat lain untuk menurunkan kolesterol. Analisis kadar simvastatin dalam suatu sediaan obat memerlukan metode analisis yang efektif dan tepat untuk memastikan kualitas dan keamanan dalam formulasi sediaan farmasi. Review ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar simvastatin pada sediaan obat dengan berbagai metode analisis secara kromatografi. Studi literatur dilakukan dengan mencari beberapa artikel jurnal penelitian internasional yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2015-2024, menggunakan kata kunci “validation methode simvastatin” “determination simvastatin” dan “determination and validation method of simvastatin”. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa metode analisis penetapan kadar simvastatin secara kromatografi dapat dilakukan dengan High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Reverse-Phase HPLC (RP-HPLC), Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography (HILIC), dan Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLCHPLC dan RP-HPLC. Metode-metode tersebut memiliki keunggulan seperti sensitivitas, presisi, dan akurasi yang baik.

Abstract

Cosmetics are one of the products to improve appearance which are increasingly widely used in Indonesia. However, the large number of cosmetic uses is not in line with the quality. In recent years, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) has noticed an increase in the spread of illegal cosmetics in Indonesia. Educational videos are one practical medium that can be used to promote the dangers of illicit cosmetics. This community service program aims to increase public understanding of the dangers of illegal cosmetics circulating on the market. Community service activities are created by creating educational materials and videos that are disseminated to the public directly or via social media. So that through this educational video, the public can understand it well. The activities then looked at the public's initial level of understanding of the dangers of cosmetics by conducting a pre-test. After that, the videos and materials that had been prepared were shown, and then the public's knowledge increased through the post-test. From the results of the pre-test and post-test, it was found that public understanding of the dangers of cosmetics increased by 17.1%. So it can be concluded that this service activity successfully educated the community.

Abstract

Sampah plastik dan organik yang tidak terkelola di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) menimbulkan pencemaran udara serta risiko kesehatan masyarakat. Tanaman Sansevieria trifasciata efektif menyerap polutan di lingkungan tercemar. Sementara itu, limbah dari kemasan kosmetik memperburuk masalah plastik. Pembuatan solid perfume berbahan minyak atsiri alami menjadi solusi ramah lingkungan yang aman dan minim limbah. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan dan perilaku hidup sehat masyarakat Dusun Jatirejo, Kelurahan Mojosongo, Kecamatan Jebres, Kota Surakarta melalui dua pendekatan utama, yaitu sosialisasi penanaman pohon Sansevieria sebagai solusi pengelolaan udara dan pelatihan pembuatan solid perfume berbahan dasar alami sebagai alternatif produk ramah lingkungan sekaligus peluang usaha. Metode yang digunakan mencakup edukasi interaktif, pelatihan pembuatan produk, serta penguatan kapasitas warga dalam memahami dampak lingkungan dari sampah dan penggunaan bahan kimia harian. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan lingkungan dan munculnya potensi ekonomi kreatif berbasis bahan alami. Dengan keterlibatan aktif warga, program ini berhasil menjadi langkah awal menuju pemberdayaan lingkungan dan penguatan perilaku hidup sehat dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Inflammation is a mechanism in the body's defense system that occurs through the release of pro-inflammatory mediators. However, inflammation needs to be controlled because it triggers excessive production of inflammatory mediators that cause tissue damage and disease progression. Various types of first-line anti-inflammatory therapy drugs have potential for adverse side effects such as anemia, hypertension, and immunosuppression, so alternative anti-inflammatory agents are needed that are considered safe and effective. The red betel plant (Piper crocatum Ruiz and Pav) is known to contain secondary metabolites such as sesquiterpenes, aldehydes, phytosterols, and sterols that are already known as anti-inflammatory agents. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory potential of the red betel plant based on pharmacological network analysis. The test compounds are secondary metabolites that were successfully detected in the red betel stem such as caryophyllene, octadecadienal, stigmasterol, and sitosterol. Proteins related to anti-inflammatory activity obtained from GeneCards, proteins interacting with test compounds predicted by SwissTargetPrediction, and the results of the intersection of both types of proteins were further analyzed using STRING with Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment methods. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis showed involvement in NF-?B, IL-17, PI3K/AKT, and TNF signaling pathways, with 16 key genes related to anti-inflammatory activity targets. The main target proteins of caryophyllene and stigmasterol being HSP90AA1 and STAT3, respectively, while octadecadienal and sitosterol showed NFKB1 as the same main target protein. The results provide a scientific data for the use of these secondary metabolites as anti-inflammatory agents.
