Abstract

The aimed of this research was to find out whether the implanting of mobile social networking can be able to improve the student’s ability in speaking term of accuracy and fluency at first year students’ of Sikes Yarsi Mataram. This research was conducted through pre-experimental method. The population of this research consisted of one class of first year students’ of Sikes Yarsi Mataram which consisted of 31 students at Sikes Yarsi Mataram academic year 2020/2021. In collecting data, the researcher gave a speaking test, the speaking test help into two steps, there were pre-test and post-test, while to analyzed data , the researcher used (t)test. The findings of this research showed that the mean score in pre-test in term of pronunciation was (3,06) and post-test was (5,65). The mean score in pretest in term smoothness was ( 3,39) and post-test was (5,74). And the total result of pronunciation and smoothness or X1 was (3,22) and the post-test or X2 was (5,7). So, this is showed students got improvement in their speaking after being taught through mobile social networking, the students ability in speaking English became better than before

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to analyze and describe about the morality in Nathaniel Hawthorne work entitled The Portrait of morality in Scarlet Letter Novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Specially ,this research deal with (1) What are the potrait of moralities by the main characters Hester Prynne ,Arthur Dimmsdale and Roger Chilingworth drawn in Scarlet Letter Novel (2) What are the sequences of these moralities for the main character as the doer of the moralities in Scarlet Letter Novel. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The data were words, phrases, sentences from the first chapter until the last chapter. Theories used used in this research were concerned with novel as a literary work, morals and ethics,morality,morality and religion,morality and law,immorality and the structural approach in literary criticism.This research was catagorized as literary criticms,where the researcher doing analysis, interpretation and evaluation in conducting the research.The writer applies the structural approach in hisresearchbecause to analyzes what moralities characters and what is the consequences of these moralities for the character’s life based on the instrinsic element of this novel.The result of this research were stated as follow: (1)The moralities found in the Scarlet Letter Novel were adultery,hypocrisy and revenge (2)The three main characters get different consequences of thier morality and face the risk of the morality in different ways.Finally the author can conclude that no one is perfect even the priest which supposed tobe the right hand of God.This novel reveal the morality in details and the important point is how this novel is relevant for generation to generation as a guidebook in morality aspect in society.And the writer advise that the next writer will write about literary critism in different point of view.

Abstract

Interactions gave various kinds of relationships, one of them was on traders relationship. Buyer and seller was relationship that has been effects in human life. Humans as social beings will always have relationships with each other in order to fulfill their life needs. This relationship will occur if it is based on communication. In this regard, communication plays an important role in human life. But the importance of communication will be felt if humans know what communication actually is and how the delivery process was carried out, so that it takes place effectively. In essence, communication is a process of expression between humans, what expressed, thoughts or feelings to others by using language as a channel. In buyer and seller interaction process, the ability to communicate (communicative competence) which was based on the speaker's cultural system, it can support the success of work in the informal sector. As a means of communication and self-expression, language can affect the thoughts and feelings of other humans, so that with language, a person is able to make other people take responsive actions according to the messages exchanged. Broadly speaking, communication is the process of conveying thoughts, feelings, or messages from one person (communicator) to another (communicant). With the medium of language, a communicator is able to influence the communicant and the message conveyed can be understood according to the meanings contained therein. Communication will be successful if the thoughts conveyed by the seller and the buyer can be understood precisely and equally by both parties. Thus, sellers and buyers are the determinants of communication practices and understanding of the messages communicated.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the implement of mind mapping techniques to improve students’ reading comprehension in narrative texts in eleven grade of MA Al-Islah Dasan Agung academic year 2023-2024. The research was conduct at Al-Islah Dasan Agung on 17 July – 03 August 2023. This research was carried in two classes, these are XI A as the experimental class consisted of 13 students and XI B as a control class consisted of 13 students. The research used quantitative method with quasi-experimental design. The data were gathered through test which were delivered into the pre-test and post-test. Based on the result of the research showed that mind mapping technique is improve students’ reading comprehension in narrative text, because the value of gained score (20.77) is higher than the control class (10.77). From the result of statistic hypothesis, has significance value 0.001. Based on the significance table is 0.05, meanings that 0.05 > 0.001. In other word the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, teaching reading comprehension of narrative text has improves through mind mapping technique
