Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 has transformed life paradigms by integrating digital and physical technologies, requiring problem-solving to be precise, accurate, and grounded in scientific methods. This era faces significant challenges from the growing ideology of materialism, which emphasizes empirical values as the center of existence. Consequently, realities beyond the material realm, including the existence of God, are often dismissed, posing a serious threat to Indonesian society, where belief in God forms the philosophical foundation of national life. This study employs a library research method to investigate the roots of declining religious attitudes globally, partly driven by the widespread influence of materialism. Through an ontological approach, the study finds that materialism emerged as a critique of mythocentric views and speculative science. However, from an Islamic perspective, reality is not confined to the material; immaterial entities are equally real and integral to human life. Islamic logic points to a causal relationship where all existence must originate from a primary cause—the All-Existent (God). Thus, materialism's rejection of God stems from its limited understanding of existence as purely material. Keywords: materialism; ontology; islamic perspective

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of non-formal education in strengthening students' moral character through programs at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Al-Karimah. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that curriculum optimization and the implementation of programs like Thursday Berinfaq, Friday Berkah, and gender-based activities significantly contribute to character development among students. Additionally, teachers serve as essential role models, facilitating the internalization of moral values in students' everyday lives. These findings underscore the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and teachers to support effective and sustainable moral education.

Abstract

Education needs to adapt to the times to remain relevant to the needs of students. One of the important components that must be considered is the teaching materials, including those in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This research aims to formulate a strategy for revitalizing Islamic Education (PAI) learning in the D phase through optimizing textbooks that are more comprehensive, integrative, and effective in achieving learning outcomes (CP). Using a qualitative approach based on content analysis and literature review, this study identifies inconsistencies between the CP in the Kepka BSKAP and the Learning Objectives (TP) listed in the textbook. For example, the material on rukhsah only reflects the views of one specific school of thought, whereas CP aimsfor a broader understanding of the four major schools of thought. This finding confirms the need for developing more holistic materials to reflect the flexibility of Islamic law. Additionally, the learning models in the textbook are relevant to the psychological characteristics of 12–15-year-old students based on Piaget's theory of development. This research provides contributions in the form of strategic recommendations, including expanding the scope of teaching materials, integrating intersectional perspectives, and strengthening the connection with students' real-life experiences. The limitation of this research lies in the scope of the location and the limited sample size. Therefore, further research with a more comprehensive approach is needed to support the implementation of more effective and transformative fiqh learning

Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of tazkiyah in the Al-Qur'an and its implications for education, especially Islamic Religious Education. This research uses library research and literature review methods, which aim to collect information and data from various sources such as books, articles and relevant journals. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns and themes that emerged from the literature studied. The results of the research reveal in the Al-Qur'an Surah As-Syams verses 9-10, "It is truly fortunate for those who purify their souls, and truly it is a loss for those who pollute them." This also reveals the substantial implications of the concept of tazkiyah al-nafs in the context of Islamic Religious Education. Imam Zarnuji, in his book, emphasizes that achieving useful knowledge requires good morals, which can be obtained through the tazkiyah al-nafs process. These findings emphasize the importance of self-purification as a process in creating a clean heart, which essentially enables optimal acceptance of knowledge in the learning process. This research makes an important contribution in understanding the relationship between the purification of the soul and the effectiveness of Islamic religious education, as well as highlighting the importance of spiritual aspects in the learning process.
