Abstract

Education in the era of globalization demands the development of students' social skills, including collaboration, to prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century. One effective method to train these skills is small group discussions, which encourage students to share ideas, listen to other perspectives, and reach consensus. This study aims to identify effective strategies in guiding small group discussions to improve student collaboration, focusing on the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study design in one of the high schools that implements the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and student collaboration questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that effective strategies include the use of open-ended questions, providing constructive feedback, and dividing roles in groups. In addition, the dynamics of small group discussions can be improved with good conflict management by teachers. This study also found that small group discussions can improve students' collaboration skills, which are reflected in communication, individual responsibility, and group decision making. Implications for the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum show the importance of teacher training to improve the ability to guide small group discussions effectively. This study provides practical and theoretical contributions to the development of collaboration-based learning in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development of language in early childhood through the role-playing method in Simangambat Village, Siabu District, Mandailing Natal Regency. Role-playing was chosen because it effectively helps children learn language actively, contextually, and introduces them to social roles in everyday life. Observations were made on children involved in role-playing activities such as acting as farmers, digging, planting rice, and engaging in trade. The results show that role-playing can enhance children's language skills, including speaking, listening, and understanding words within their social context. Furthermore, this method also stimulates creativity, critical thinking, and strengthens social skills such as empathy and cooperation. The study provides valuable insights into the benefits of role-playing in early childhood language development, particularly in rural communities, and is expected to contribute to the development of more effective educational strategies in rural settings.

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECE) is a fundamental stage in character building. One effective method that can be used is story-based learning, especially children's stories in the Qur'an. This study aims to describe the application of children's stories in the Qur'an in PAUD institutions and identify the character values developed and their effectiveness. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the application of the story method is effective in shaping early childhood characters such as honesty, patience, and obedience. Teachers use auxiliary media such as puppets and picture books for storytelling. This research reinforces the importance of integrating Qur'anic stories in the PAUD curriculum as a medium for Islamic character education.

Abstract

Judi online dan narkoba telah menjadi fenomena yang memiliki dampak negatif dalam tatanan sosial masyarakat. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat untuk memberikan pemahaman secara mendalam dan membentuk kesadaran masyarakat Desa Tambangan Pasoman agar terhindar dari kedua perbuatan ini dengan memberikan edukasi dan membuka diskusi yang terarah (focus discussion) agar menjawab kekeliruan selama penyuluhan berlangsung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan perubahan sikap masyarakat secara signifikat akan bahaya dari judi online dan narkoba dimana masih banyak masyarakat yang kurang memahami dampak buruk ini di sebabkan kurangnya literasi hukum dan pengawasan pemerintah desa. Edukasi yang dilakukan secara persuasif telah menunjukkan hasil positif dengan membangun kesadaran baru dan  keterlibatan pemuda sebagai tonggak keberhasilan pengabdian ini. Mereka tidak hanya menjadi penerima informasi, tetapi menjadi agen perubahan dengan menyebarkan pesan positif ke lingkungan sekitarnya. Hal ini memicu adanya komunitas ataupun kelompok yang sigap untuk mengawasi indikasi adanya praktik judi atau penyalahgunaan narkoba. dengan demikian diharapkan desa dapat lebih proaktif menanggulangi masalah ini sebelum meluas dan menyebabkan dampak yang lebih besar.
