Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of coaching-based academic supervision anddifferentiated methods in improving teacher competency in junior high schools in Jayapuradistrict, Papua. Coaching-based supervision is applied to create collaborative and reflectivecommunication between supervisors and teachers, while a differentiated approach allowssupervision to be tailored to individual teacher needs. This research uses a descriptive qualitativeapproach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatoryobservation and open questionnaires. The research results show that the coaching approach iseffective in identifying teachers' strengths and challenges and improving their skills in teachingand classroom management. The differentiated method allows for more personalized supervision,increasing teachers' self-confidence and reflective abilities. Overall, this research found that bothapproaches were able to create an inclusive and collaborative supervision environment, increaseteacher professional competence, and form a culture of cooperation in schools. These findingssupport the implementation of more adaptive academic supervision in schools to improve thequality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the GROW ME model in academic supervision at SD Negeri Inpres Sereh, Jayapura Regency. The GROW ME model, which consists of the steps of Goal, Reality, Options, Will, Monitoring, and Evaluation, is designed to help teachers formulate learning objectives, evaluate the current situation, explore various solution options, and plan concrete action steps. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the GROW ME model in the context of academic supervision. Through quantitative and qualitative methodologies, data were collected from observations, interviews, questionnaires and document analysis related to the implementation of academic supervision, involving teachers and principals. The results of the study indicate that the application of the GROW ME model in academic supervision can increase teacher involvement in the learning process and facilitate their professional development. This study concludes that the GROW ME model is an effective approach to improving the quality of academic supervision in elementary schools, and recommends its wider application in educational contexts. These findings are expected to provide a positive contribution to the development of more efficient and beneficial supervision practices in educational environments.

Abstract

Teacher performance is one of the important factors in improving the quality of education. However, suboptimal teacher performance is often caused by the principal's situational leadership style not meeting expectations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of situational leadership styles that do not meet expectations on teacher performance and student learning outcomes. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires to teachers and educational staff at SMPN 1 Kemtuk Gresi as respondents. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively to identify the patterns of relationships between leadership styles, teacher performance, and student learning outcomes. The research results indicate that situational leadership styles that do not align with conditions and needs can reduce teacher work motivation, which negatively impacts student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this research is the need for the school principal to apply a flexible and appropriate leadership style to improve teacher performance and support student learning outcomes. The implication of this research is the need to enhance the principal's leadership competencies to effectively apply a situational leadership style that is suitable for the conditions at the school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of situational leadership style on teacher work motivation in Jayapura Regency. Using a quantitative approach, the research method applied is a survey, involving 10 teachers of SD Negeri Inpres Sereh. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires consisting of two main parts: one to measure situational leadership style and one to evaluate teacher work motivation. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between situational leadership style and teacher work motivation. This study also identified that leaders who are able to adapt to the needs and level of teacher readiness tend to increase their enthusiasm and commitment to their work. The discussion indicates that the application of a flexible and responsive leadership style can create a more supportive work environment, thus encouraging teachers to innovate and actively participate in the teaching and learning process. The conclusion of this study is that situational leadership style has a significant and positive influence on teacher work motivation in SD Negeri Inpres Sereh, Jayapura Regency. Therefore, it is recommended for principals and educational leaders to apply an adaptive leadership style to improve teacher motivation and performance in learning.

Abstract

Secara garis besar, pengembangan profesionalisme guru merupakan aspek penting dalam menjawab tantangan mutu pendidikan di sekolah menengah, namun profesionalisme semacam itu tidak hanya mencakup pengajaran dan manajemen kelas, tetapi juga didedikasikan untuk inovasi dan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana supervisi akademik yang positif dan praktik pengembangan profesional kepala sekolah yang memengaruhi profesionalisme guru di SMP/MTs di Indonesia. Menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis kualitatif, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan tinjauan dokumen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa supervisi akademik yang positif adalah salah satu strategi yang memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan motivasi, kolaborasi, dan kompetensi profesional guru. Umpan balik konstruktif dan penghargaan, serta iklim inklusif, juga sangat penting. Guru yang bekerja dalam budaya positif cenderung lebih termotivasi untuk menghadiri pelatihan, berbagi praktik terbaik, dan menyesuaikan kompetensi mereka dengan kebutuhan siswa dan perkembangan dalam pendidikan. Saran termasuk memperkuat program supervisi berdasarkan budaya positif, memberikan pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan penilaian berkala tentang efektivitas supervisi. Temuan semacam itu memberikan dasar strategis bagi sekolah untuk meningkatkan pengembangan profesional para guru.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the BAGJA framework in clinical supervision to enhance teacher professionalism at SD Negeri Inpres Sereh, Jayapura Regency. The BAGJA framework, which consists of the stages of Creating Questions, Learning Lessons, Exploring Dreams, Outlining Plans, and Managing Execution, is implemented as a systematic method in clinical supervision to provide targeted support to teachers. This research uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were collected from teachers involved in clinical supervision, the principal, and supervisors. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the BAGJA framework significantly supports the improvement of teacher professionalism, especially in the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Teachers who participated in supervision using the BAGJA framework showed improvements in teaching methods and self-reflection skills. The conclusion of this study states that clinical supervision based on the BAGJA framework is effective in enhancing teacher professionalism and contributes positively to the quality of education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah supervisi akademik merupakan instrumen yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru di SD Negeri Inpres Doyo Lama. Dengan menerapkan rekomendasi yang telah diberikan, diharapkan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah tersebut dapat terus ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa supervisi akademik memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru di SD Negeri Inpres Doyo Lama. Aspek pelaksanaan supervisi, khususnya pemberian umpan balik langsung, merupakan faktor yang paling penting. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi perlu segera diatasi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas supervisi. Rekomendasi yang diberikan diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi sekolah dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan
