Abstract

This research focuses on the influence of feminism in the stories contained in the book collection of short stories by Ihan Sunrise. This study aims to describe the forms of discrimination against Acehnese women and gender equality in Ihan Sunrise’s works throught a collection of short stories by Rihon. The research method used is a qualititative descriptive method with a literature study approach. Based on data analysis, the results of this study show that the works in the collection of Rihon short stories contain elements of feminism. Discrimination of women in Aceh that occurred for years in social strata. The different treatment of women from men in community life has given birth of the Acehnese women’s feminist movement.

Abstract

Pemakaian partikel dalam bahasa Gayo dihasilkan secara unik dalam percakapan sehari-hari.  Akan tetapi, peran dan fungsi yang melekat dalam penggunaan partikel kadang-kadang tidak disadari oleh penutur. Untuk itu, tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bentuk, peran, dan fungsi partikel dalam bahasa Gayo pada masyarakat Bebesen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak bebas libat cakap. Analisis data digunakan dengan padan referensial dan metode agih dengan teknik ekspansi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa bentuk-bentuk partikel meliputi di, gə, he, kə, kəta, lə, dan mi. Peran dalam penggunaan partikel memberikan makna tambahan dan penegasan dengan mengacu pada unsur-unsur bahasa Gayo seperti adjektiva, demostrativa, dan kata tanya. Kehadiran penggunaan partikel dalam konteks kalimat bahasa Gayo menandai fungsi emotif ketidaknyamanan, kekaguman, kerasahan, kejutan, keheranan, dan keinginan untuk bertindak.Kata Kunci: Partikel, Bentuk, Peran, Fungsi, Bahasa Gayo.

Abstract

Adaptation to local values ​​is the choice of many parties when they want to bring justice to the classroom. This research reveals the cultural diversity adapted in Indonesian language learning, especially the typical Islamic boarding school values ​​of Mbh Hasyim Asy'ari Tebuireng. This research is ethnocritical. The data used is linguistic data in the form of teacher and student speech. Data collection was carried out using observation and interview methods. Data were analyzed using ethnocritical theory. Researchers describe the values ​​(culture) that exist in Indonesian language learning at Junior High Schools in Tebuireng. Apart from that, the researcher also provided critical comments on the data description. The findings in this research are that Indonesian language learning in Tebuireng is carried out in an active, integrative manner. As a result, there are three Islamic boarding school values ​​that are adapted in learning, namely: openness values, togetherness values, and tasamuh values. These values ​​are utilized by teachers to create active, interactive and loving learning.

Abstract

Writing is a critical skill in English language instruction, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study focuses on the affective domain, particularly the self-concept, and its influence on students' writing performance. The research analyzes self-concept as reflected in students' writing performance within the English Department of BBG University. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The findings revealed that students' self-concept could be categorized into academic self-concept, social self-concept, and personal self-concept. Positive self-concept was associated with higher confidence and better writing performance, often linked to previous achievements, interest in writing, and supportive environments. Conversely, negative self-concept was characterized by lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, and blame on external factors. The study concludes that self-concept plays a significant role in shaping students' writing outcomes, highlighting the importance of fostering positive perceptions and using reflective tools like journals to enhance their performance. This research offers insights for educators to develop teaching strategies that address the affective needs of students, ultimately promoting confidence and skill development in academic writing.

Abstract

This study aims to see the success of students' learning in writing anecdotal texts based on local wisdom in class X SMK SMTI Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach with an Experiment type. The population of this study used two classes, namely class X TMI B and TMI C. The sample was selected randomly and class X TMI B was selected as the experimental class and TMI C as the control class totaling 54 people. Data collection was carried out through tests. The data were analyzed using a one-tailed t-test (right side), to determine the success of students' learning in class X TMI B and C SMK SMTI Banda Aceh in understanding the anecdotal text material with the application of the discovery learning model. The t-test shows the t-value of the control class is |-16.605|>1.705 t table and the significance value (2-tailed) is 0.001 (p <0.05). And the t-value of the experimental group is |-23.844| > 1.705 t table and significance value (2-tailed) is 0.001 (p < 0.05). This means that there is an increase in student learning success in learning to write anecdotal texts based on local wisdom through the discovery learning model for class X SMK SMTI Banda Aceh.
