Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of first-person pronouns in NIKI's song lyrics, focusing on their frequency, pattern, and context of usage. The research employs a descriptive qualitative-quantitative approach, combining corpus analysis with contextual interpretation. The data consists of song lyrics from NIKI's albums and popular tracks, formatted into a compatible text file (.txt) for analysis using AntConc software version 4.3.1. Data collection involved gathering lyrics from reliable sources, cleaning the data, and preparing it for analysis. The analysis process included identifying the frequency of first-person pronouns, observing distribution patterns through the concordance feature, and interpreting the context and meanings of pronoun usage. The findings reveal a dominance of the pronoun "I" (589 occurrences) over "We" (138 occurrences), indicating a focus on individual experiences and emotions in NIKI's lyrics. The study identifies various patterns, including "I + to be," which reflects deep emotional states, self-reflection, and regret; "I + modal," which conveys feelings and desires; and "I + verb," which directly expresses actions and emotions. Additionally, the "We" patterns, such as "We + To Be" and "We + Modal," illustrate collective experiences, possibilities, and relationship dynamics. The results highlight the contrasting roles of individual and collective perspectives in NIKI’s songwriting, enriching the emotional depth of her lyrics.

Abstract

Abstract: : This study aims to explore the relationship between language, culture, and local identity through the ethnolinguistic analysis of traditional Gresik cuisine. A total of 14 culinary names were documented, including Sego Krawu, Pudak, Mangut Bandeng, and Otak-Otak Bandeng, which serve as a medium for communicating cultural values passed down through generations. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with local residents, direct observations, and literature reviews, and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The findings reveal that the names of traditional Gresik dishes reflect the region's historical  significance as a port city, its social and cultural traditions, and its close connection with the geographic environment. For instance, the term “Pudak” illustrates the community's creativity in utilizing natural materials such as areca palm leaves as wrappers, while “Sego Krawu” symbolizes the simplicity and togetherness of the people. Additionally, the influence of the historical spice trade is evident in cooking techniques such as salting and the use of rich spices in dishes like Mangut Bandeng. Culinary names also serve as markers of cultural identity, strengthening the community's sense of belonging. In the context of globalization, these names symbolize resistance to culturalhomogenization. Through food festivals, they play a role in cultural diplomacy, introducing Gresik's unique heritage to the broader world. This documentation aims to preserve culinary traditions as intangible cultural heritage and provides a reference for future linguistic and anthropological studies. Keywords: ethnolinguistics, traditional Gresik cuisine, cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with content analysis on the Arabic language textbook for Madrasah Aliyah. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of imperative features in the form of imperative verbs and their implications for learning. Data were collected through direct observation of relevant sentences, focusing on identifying forms of imperative verbs in patterns such as tsulatsi mujarrad, tsulatsi mazid, ruba'i mujarrad, and ruba'i mazid. Each imperative verb form found was analyzed to identify its morphological patterns and semantic meanings within the context of Arabic language learning. The data analysis techniques include morphological analysis to determine the transformation from regular verbs to imperative verbs, as well as semantic analysis to understand the meaning of each imperative verb in its sentence. The research results indicate that the use of imperative verbs in the Arabic language textbook includes various wazan patterns and is used to give clear instructions to students within the learning context. The learning implications of using imperative verbs are related to the application of learning theories, such as social learning theory, cognitive theory, and task-based learning, which support students' understanding of language structure and its application in everyday communication.
