Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar, khususnya bagi siswa kelas VI yang tengah membentuk identitas dan pemahaman sosial mereka. Artikel ini membahas penguatan pendidikan karakter melalui pendekatan culturally responsive teaching (CRT), dengan fokus pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan melibatkan 20 siswa serta 3 guru di Sekolah UPT SPF SD INpres Mallengkeri II berlokasi di Makassar. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana integrasi nilai-nilai budaya lokal, seperti tradisi tabe' dan salim, dalam pembelajaran PPKn dapat memperkuat karakter siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan CRT dalam pengajaran Pancasila ber hasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang nilai-nilai karakter, seperti gotong royong, toleransi, dan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan. Siswa merasa lebih terhubung dengan materi ajar ketika nilai-nilai budaya lokal dimasukkan ke dalam kurikulum. Selain itu, kegiatan yang melibatkan budaya setempat, seperti pengenalan seni dan tradisi lokal, membuat siswa lebih aktif berpartisipasi. Hubungan positif antara guru dan siswa juga terjalin, di mana siswa merasa dihargai dan didengarkan. Dengan menerapkan pendekatan ini, diharapkan pendidikan karakter menjadi lebih efektif dan relevan, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan bagi pendidik dan pembuat kebijakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar melalui pendekatan yang responsif terhadap budaya lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of cultural extracurricular activities on the social behavior of tenth-grade students at SMAN 10 Pangkep. The method employed is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, focusing on understanding the subjective experiences of students participating in these activities. A total of 15 students actively involved in various cultural activities, such as dance, music, and theater, were included in this research. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. Semi-structured interviews were used to explore students' perspectives on how extracurricular activities influence their social interactions. Observations were made to document group dynamics and relationships among students during the activities. From a sociological perspective, this research explores the role of extracurricular activities as a means of socialization, where students learn important norms, values, and social skills essential for their social lives. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis, where interview transcripts were examined to identify key themes from the students' experiences. The findings indicate that participation in cultural extracurricular activities significantly enhances social skills, a sense of togetherness, and empathy among students. These activities also strengthen social bonds and promote tolerance toward differences, which are crucial for building a harmonious society. This study is expected to provide guidance for schools to design more effective extracurricular programs and encourage student participation in character and social development.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of globalization on local culture among XI-grade students at SMAN 1 Bengalon, from a sociological perspective. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study adopts a case study design that involves in-depth interviews and participatory observations. A total of 20 students were purposively selected to explore their views on the influence of globalization on their cultural mindset and behaviors. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews focusing on students' personal experiences with foreign cultures as well as their perceptions of local culture. Participatory observations were conducted during extracurricular activities, such as dance and music, to understand social interactions and cultural dynamics among the students. Actions taken during the research included data collection through group discussions and forums, allowing students to share their perspectives and deepen their understanding of their cultural identities. From a sociological perspective, globalization acts as a process of social interaction that brings together various cultures but also threatens the survival of local culture. The findings indicate that although globalization enhances access to information and cultural exchange, there are risks of local cultural erosion and identity crises among students. This research emphasizes the importance of education in preserving local culture, recommending the integration of cultural values into the curriculum and extracurricular activities. The results are expected to provide insights for educators and policymakers regarding effective strategies for maintaining local cultural sustainability amid the increasing influence of globalization.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research examines efforts to renew the education system at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Enrekang by adapting local wisdom values as a foundation in facing the dynamics of globalization. The main challenge identified is how to maintain the existence and contribution of Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Enrekang in the global educational environment without eliminating its inherent cultural characteristics. These issues encompass aspects of curriculum development, learning method innovation, educator capacity building, and provision of educational facilities that must be aligned with global standards while remaining grounded in local wisdom values. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach combining philosophical analysis and documentary review. Data collection was conducted through in-depth literature study from various sources, including educational policy documents, previous research studies, and theories about Islamic education, local wisdom, and globalization. The analysis was performed descriptively-interpretively, considering historical and socio-cultural aspects. The research reveals three significant findings: 1) Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Enrekang occupies a strategic position as an educational institution bridging traditional and modern values, 2) There are highly relevant local wisdom values to be integrated into the modern education system, such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and deliberation (musyawarah), 3) The developed integration model includes curriculum reformulation, contextual learning method development, and strengthening educator competencies in combining local and global values.

Abstract

The transformation of student behavior in the contemporary era reflects the complexity of changes in the social structure of society, in line with the theoretical perspective of social anomie. This study explores the implementation of strategies for addressing student delinquency at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Allu by integrating the fields of educational sociology and progressive Islamic educational philosophy. The research adopts a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological-sociological approach over one academic semester, involving 45 participants, including school leadership, educators, counselors, parents, and students. Data collection processes integrate participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, applying triangulation principles. The analytical framework is constructed by combining social bond theory and constructivist paradigms in education. The findings reveal four transformative strategies: (1) Development of a comprehensive character-building program that integrates progressive Islamic values with modern pedagogical approaches, (2) Implementation of a learning consequence system based on social behavior modification theory, (3) Strengthening classroom community groups as mechanisms for social control based on local wisdom, and (4) Revitalization of extracurricular activities aimed at fostering positive character dispositions. Evaluation indicates a 70% reduction in deviant behavior and an 85% increase in engagement in religious and learning activities. The contribution of this research lies in formulating an educational intervention model that harmonizes perspectives from educational sociology, progressive Islamic educational philosophy, and contemporary pedagogical innovations.
