Abstract

Communication plays an important role in inclusive education, where the use of polite, inclusive, and clear language helps build strong relationships between teachers, students, parents, and support staff. This research aims to analyze the principles of language use as an interactive communication tool and to build good relationships in the context of inclusive education. The problem formulation includes the principles of language use, the role of linguistic politeness, the ethics of interactive communication, and the importance of effective communication in creating an inclusive learning environment. By applying the principles of interactive communication, inclusive education can become more inclusive, equitable, and supportive of each student's development. The conclusion of this research indicates that interactive communication is the key to success in inclusive education, creating a friendly, supportive, and motivating learning environment for all students. Recommendations include the need to continuously apply the principles of interactive communication, raise awareness of the importance of linguistic politeness, and strengthen the relationships between all elements involved in the inclusive education process.

Abstract

This study explores the spiritual meaning embedded in the traditional Perang Sabut game in Rambutan Masam Village, Batanghari Regency, Jambi, as a foundation for character education grounded in local wisdom amid globalization. Employing qualitative ethnographic methods, primary data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with local figures (M. Suhaimi and Samsul Bahri) and participatory observation in February 2026, revealing the game as a collective ritual rich in spiritual significance: smoke from burning coconut husks symbolizes prayers for rain, the no-clothing rule reflects humility and surrender to God, and its post-Quran recitation timing integrates faith with communal bonding.Values such as gratitude, piety, harmony with nature, and mutual cooperation are instilled in children, aligning with the Pancasila Student Profile and Merdeka Curriculum. Adapting this tradition into elementary school learning strengthens moral character against modern cultural erosion, fostering a generation that excels academically, remains devout, and preserves national identity

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited number of studies that comprehensively examine the implementation of reward and punishment in improving elementary school students’ discipline, despite its significant impact on the quality of the learning process and character development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of reward and punishment on student discipline and to examine the effectiveness of these strategies in shaping disciplined behavior. This study adopts a qualitative approach using a library research design, with data sources derived from various scholarly literatures selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that rewards have a positive influence on enhancing students’ motivation and discipline, while appropriately implemented punishment can reduce violations and improve compliance with rules. These findings are consistent with reinforcement theory, which highlights the role of external stimuli in shaping behavior. The study concludes that the combination of reward and punishment is an effective strategy for improving student discipline in elementary schools. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the literature on character education strategies and practical recommendations for teachers to apply a balanced approach in classroom management. This study also suggests the need for further empirical research to examine the effectiveness of these strategies in real classroom settings.
