Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia issued policies related to the implementation of education in the new normal era learning systems through online learning by utilizing various technologies. Without face-to-face learning, high school students have difficulty in understanding molecular shape geometry material so that it affects students' ability to develop spatial-visual precepts. As a solution to these problems, there needs to be the development of virtual reality learning videos that match the geometry of molecular shapes in real-time. This study aims to find out the validity of The Virtual Reality-Based Molecular Shape Geometry Tutorial Video As a Solution To Improve the Spatial Visual Ability of High School Students in the New Normal Era. Validity is tested through content quality and purpose, instructional quality, and technical quality. The development was carried out using the R&D method with The Thiagarajan 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate which is limited to the Develop Stage The results were obtained from Virtual Reality Chemistry (VR CHEM) media are very valid on each criterion assessed. The details of the results obtained are content validation of 91.9% and construction validation of 89%.

Abstract

Abstract

Education in the 21st century must be in harmony with technological developments where students are expected to be able to master useful skills to be responsive to changes and developments over time and to have in-depth knowledge and understanding to become lifelong learners. Based on these problems, the researcher aims to produce e-learning based PBL-STEM learning tools that are valid, practical and effective. This research procedure follows the Borg and Gall research and development method. Where the research method is pre-experimental, researchers use the One Group Pretest - Posttest Design approach. The results of this research are: the teaching tools were declared valid in terms of validation results of 95%, the practicality of the teaching tools seen from the student response questionnaire obtained a score of 95% and the student activity observation sheet as supporting data obtained a value of 98%, and the effectiveness of interactive e-modules can be seen from the average N-Gain value of the science process skills test obtained an average N-Gain value of 0.73 and in the critical thinking ability test obtained an average N-Gain score of 0.70 so it can be concluded that the teaching tools developed are suitable use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive e-modules based on socio-scientific issues integrated micro-projects to train students' understanding of concepts and science process skills on reaction rate material. This method of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D development model consisting of four stages namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collected includes qualitative data, such as interview results and input regarding the e-module development, and quantitative data in the form of questionnaire scores. The quality of interactive e-modules is assessed based on expert assessments, chemistry teacher assessments, and student assessments. Data analysis techniques involved both qualitative and quantitative methods along with validity assessment criteria. The results of expert assessments of 95.88%, quality assessments by chemistry teachers of 89.1%, and student assessments of 88.2%, obtained high validity results so that it can be concluded that interactive e-modules is feasible to be used in schools on the reaction rate material. The implications of this study suggest that the integration of socio-scientific issues and micro-projects in e-modules can significantly support the improvement of students’ understanding of scientific concepts and their science process skills fostering more meaningful and context-based learning experiences.
