Abstract

Education plays an important role in improving the quality of a country's human resources. In Indonesia, teacher quality is a major concern, as seen from the results of the Teacher Competency Test (UKG) in 2012 to 2015. Of the 1.6 million participants, 1.3 million teachers did not meet the minimum competency standards, which of course has an impact on the quality of education. To overcome this problem, attention must be focused on improving the quality of teachers, not just on changing the curriculum. Another challenge is the low level of active participation of teachers in school activities and technology adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many teachers lack enthusiasm and innovation in implementing online learning. In this context, organizational commitment becomes important which is influenced by factors such as leadership style. This study examines the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment among junior high school teachers in Padang City, West Sumatra. Using a quantitative approach, data from 159 teachers in six schools were analyzed using SPSS version 26.0. The results showed that transformational leadership significantly influenced organizational commitment. This study emphasizes the importance of enhancing transformational leadership in strengthening teachers' organizational commitment. Educational organizations are expected to utilize these findings to improve teacher quality and support national education goals. This research also contributes knowledge to the world of education, especially for educational organizations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas media pembelajaran video interaktif berbantuan Edpuzzle pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila kelas V SDN 20 Indarung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan fokus pada tahap validasi. Data diperoleh melalui lembar validasi dari ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli bahasa, serta dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media memperoleh skor rata-rata 90% dari ahli materi dengan kategori sangat valid, 82,69% dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat valid, dan 75% dari ahli bahasa dengan kategori valid. Secara keseluruhan, tingkat validitas media ini mencapai rata-rata 83% dengan kategori sangat valid. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran video interaktif berbantuan Edpuzzle layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila, karena mampu menghadirkan tampilan menarik, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar serta tujuan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy based on the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) on reading comprehension skills in integrated thematic learning for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 07 Sikabu Munto, Pesisir Selatan. The study was motivated by the low reading comprehension abilities among students, indicated by limited concentration when reading, difficulty understanding text content, and challenges in drawing conclusions from passages. The research employed an experimental method with a posttest-only control design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class taught using the P5-based DRTA strategy and a control class taught using conventional instruction. Reading comprehension data were obtained through a posttest, and the results were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the experimental group achieved a higher mean score (M = 82.5) compared to the control group (M = 72.3). The independent t- test indicated a significant difference between the two groups (t(48) = 3.27, p 0.01), confirming that students who received DRTA-based P5 instruction demonstrated significantly better reading comprehension skills. The P5-based DRTA strategy effectively guided students to make predictions, focus attention, verify understanding, and construct deeper meaning from texts. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan kerja bermakna pada guru Sekolah Menengah di Kota Padang. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei yang melibatkan 159 guru dari enam sekolah. Instrumen penelitian mengacu pada Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) untuk mengukur kepemimpinan transformasional dan Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI) untuk menilai kerja bermakna. Analisis statistik dilakukan menggunakan SPSS 26.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kerja bermakna. Guru yang memersepsikan kepala sekolahnya mampu memberikan inspirasi, arahan, dan dukungan, cenderung merasakan bahwa pekerjaan mereka memiliki nilai dan tujuan yang lebih kuat. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kualitas kepemimpinan transformasional dalam lingkungan sekolah dapat berkontribusi terhadap pemahaman dan pemaknaan guru terhadap peran dan tanggung jawab profesionalnya. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan kebijakan dan program peningkatan kapasitas kepemimpinan untuk memperkuat kesejahteraan psikologis serta motivasi kerja guru.
