Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Financial Technology (Fintech) in improving financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia. Fintech has grown rapidly and become a solution for people who previously had limited access to formal financial services. Using quantitative methods, this study involved 310 respondents who are users of Fintech services in Indonesia. Data was collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression and Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the use of Fintech has a significant effect on improving financial literacy, especially through the financial education feature in the application. In addition, Fintech also plays a role in increasing financial inclusion by providing wider access to digital banking services, online loans, and digital-based investments. However, there are some challenges in utilizing Fintech, such as low digital literacy and concerns regarding data security. Therefore, policies that support the development of Fintech that are more inclusive and educative are needed so that the benefits can be optimally felt by the community.

Abstract

The commercialization of citizens’ personal data has become a core element of digital platform business models through profiling, targeted advertising, and data analytics. The legality of such practices is commonly justified through user consent as the legal basis for data processing. In practice, however, consent is often formalistic and reflects an imbalance of bargaining power between platforms and users. This condition raises legal questions regarding the boundary between lawful data management and digital exploitation of privacy rights. This study aims to analyze the legality of data commercialization by digital platforms and to examine whether such practices constitute exploitation under personal data protection law. Using a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and limited comparative approaches, this study finds a normative conflict between personal data protection principles and data driven economic practices legitimized by consent. Formal compliance does not necessarily ensure substantive privacy protection. The study concludes that restrictive interpretation of consent and stronger platform accountability are required to prevent the normalization of data exploitation in the digital economy.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of Financial Literacy on Personal Financial Management among millennials in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, the research investigates the relationship between financial knowledge and the ability to manage personal finances effectively. The findings indicate that financial literacy significantly influences personal financial management, highlighting its critical role in shaping sound financial behaviors. Millennials with higher levels of financial literacy tend to demonstrate better budgeting, saving, and investment habits, reducing the likelihood of debt accumulation and promoting long-term financial stability. Conversely, a lack of financial knowledge often leads to poor financial decisions, such as excessive use of credit cards, inadequate savings, and limited understanding of investment opportunities. This study contributes to the growing body of literature by focusing on the millennial generation in Indonesia, providing practical implications for stakeholders such as policymakers, financial institutions, and educators to enhance financial literacy programs. Tailored financial education initiatives, both in formal education settings and through community outreach programs, are recommended to address the specific needs of this demographic. Future research is encouraged to expand the scope by incorporating additional variables, such as technological adoption in financial management and the influence of socio-economic backgrounds, and employing mixed-method approaches to gain deeper insights into the behavioral aspects of financial decision-making.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of monetary policy on inflation rate, focusing on the role of interest rates, money supply, and bank credit. Using a quantitative approach, this research analyzes how these variables influence inflation through statistical methods. The study employs multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationships between the independent and dependent variables. Secondary data from official financial reports and economic publications provide the basis for analysis. The findings suggest that interest rates have a negative relationship with inflation, meaning an increase in interest rates can help reduce inflationary pressures. Meanwhile, money supply and bank credit have a positive relationship with inflation, indicating that higher liquidity and credit availability contribute to rising inflation. The statistical tests confirm that the model used is valid and reliable, ensuring accurate interpretations of the results. This study underscores the importance of monetary policy adjustments in maintaining price stability. Policymakers should carefully manage interest rates, money supply, and credit distribution to effectively control inflation and promote economic stability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the conditions and legal consequences of the cancellation of wills in civil inheritance law. In inheritance law, a will is an instrument that gives the heirs the freedom to determine the division of wealth as they wish. However, the cancellation of a will often occurs due to changes in the condition or wishes of the heir before he dies. This study uses normative juridical methods, with an approach to laws and regulations and literature studies to examine juridical aspects related to the cancellation of wills, conditions that must be met, and legal implications for heirs. The results of the study show that the annulment of a valid will must meet certain formal requirements, such as being carried out by heirs who have legal capacity and are in good mental health. Cancellation that is not in accordance with the procedure can result in legal uncertainty and disputes among the heirs, as a will that was previously considered invalid can be considered valid again. The legal consequences of this annulment of a will include changes in the distribution of inherited property, which can be done under general inheritance law if there is no new valid will. This study highlights the importance of procedural clarity and legal education so that heirs and heirs understand the impact of the act of annulment.

Abstract

Customary law in the archipelago is a deep cultural heritage and plays a significant role in the lives of traditional communities. This article examines the evolution and development of customary law in Indonesia, from its traditional roots to its adaptation in a modern context. This study aims to understand how customary law, which was originally local and traditional, has adapted to social, political, and legal changes that have occurred at the national and global levels. Through a historical approach and literature analysis, this article identifies important stages in the evolution of customary law, including the influence of colonialism, integration with the national legal system, and post-independence legal reform. The main focus lies on how customary law adapts to the dynamics of modernity while maintaining its cultural essence. This study also explores the challenges faced by customary law in facing globalization and social change, as well as efforts to maintain its sustainability amidst an increasingly dominant national legal system. The results show that customary law has undergone significant changes but continues to play an important role in society. Adaptation of customary law includes adjusting norms and practices to align with national law and modern values, without losing its original cultural identity. This article concludes that although customary law faces various challenges, it continues to contribute to the preservation of culture and dispute resolution in indigenous communities, as well as playing a role in the development of more inclusive national laws.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption has significantly transformed the landscape of intellectual property, particularly in the realm of copyright protection. With the rapid evolution of digital technology, creative works are now more vulnerable to unauthorized use, duplication, and distribution across various online platforms. This normative legal research aims to analyze the adequacy and responsiveness of existing copyright laws in addressing the challenges posed by digital advancements. Utilizing a statute and conceptual approach, the study examines the current regulatory framework in Indonesia and compares it with international standards. The findings indicate that existing copyright laws are still limited in their ability to offer comprehensive protection in the digital age. Key issues include weak enforcement mechanisms, lack of digital monitoring systems, and outdated legal provisions that do not reflect technological realities. The study emphasizes the urgent need for legal reform that integrates digital-based enforcement tools and aligns national copyright regulations with global legal frameworks. Strengthening the legal infrastructure and improving public awareness are essential to ensure effective copyright protection in the era of digital disruption.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The restorative legal approach is an alternative method in handling crime that focuses on restoring relationships between perpetrators, victims, and the community, and prioritizes rehabilitation rather than punitive punishment. In Indonesia, where organized crime often involves complex networks and broad social impacts, this approach offers the potential to overcome challenges that exist in the conventional criminal justice system. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the restorative legal approach in the context of handling organized crime in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with legal practitioners, law enforcement officials, and representatives of rehabilitation institutions, as well as document analysis and case studies related to the implementation of the restorative approach. The results of the study indicate that although the restorative legal approach can provide a more humanistic and constructive solution in some cases, significant challenges include resistance to change from the existing legal system, the need for training and a deeper understanding of this approach, and effective integration between restorative law and the existing criminal law system. This study suggests that in order to increase the effectiveness of this approach, there is a need for systemic reform, increased training, and the development of policies that support the implementation of restorative law in handling organized crime
