Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the material, language, media, and student responses, as well as the effectiveness of the PBL model-based learning video development product effectiveness to improve critical thinking in elementary school science learning. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research. The model used in the development is a 4-D model. The subjects in the study were students of SDN 63 Lubuklinggau, totaling 21 students of class VA as the control class, and 25 students of class V B as the experimental class. The instrument used in this research is an interview guide, a questionnaire, and a test of understanding this concept in the form of essay questions through pretest and posttest. To measure the effectiveness of concept understanding, two tests were conducted, namely before and after the learning took place in the experimental class and the control class. The data analysis technique in this study is validation analysis using Aiken's V and Interrater Reliability, teacher and student responses, and quantitative analysis using N-gain. From the research results, it is known that the results of material, language, and design validation, as well as student responses to learning videos are very feasible and good for use in learning so that students are happy and interested in learning. The results of the effectiveness of effective learning videos affect students' understanding of science concepts. Based on the gain-score test from the learning video, it gives a moderate gain score of 66%. So that students' understanding of science concepts who use PBL-based learning videos to improve critical thinking is higher than students who only use textbooks from school so that they are declared effective.

Abstract

Project-based learning (PjBL) is a learning model in which students are actively involved in solving a problem by applying the skills of researching, analysing, producing and presenting learning products based on real experiences. This study aims to determine the influence of the PjBL model on students' learning outcomes and critical thinking in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS in the Indonesian context) Class IV subjects. This research adopts a quantitative approach using the quasi-experimental method. The sample consisted of students from Darussalam Natural School Islamic Integrated Elementary School in Musi Rawas, which had just implemented the independent curriculum using the PjBL model as the applied model, while the control class received the conventional treatment. In collecting data, the techniques used are written tests in the form of description questions carried out twice (pre-test and post-test) and observation. Data analysis, data processing and analysis are carried out by determining question scores, descriptive analysis, prerequisite test analysis, and inferential analysis. The research design used was a pure experimental design with two groups, the control and experimental groups. The results of this study showed that the PjBL model significantly influenced students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in IPAS. The findings contribute to the existing literature on PjBL and its impact on students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in IPAS learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning berbantuan media konkret dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindak Kelas (PTK), dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV SD sebanyak 22 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pada siklus I tahap pretes dengan persentase 9,1% pada kategori sangat rendah dan tahap postes dengan persentase 27,3% dengan kategori rendah. Sedangkan hasil siklus II tahap pretes siswa dipresentasekan 54,5% dengan kategori sedang, kemudian pada postes mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan presentase 81,8% kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning berbantuan media konkret kelas IV di Sekolah Dasar.
