Abstract

Penguasaan keterampilan bahasa asing oleh prajurit TNI AD sangatlah penting, karena membawa dampak dalam skala internasional. Maka dari itu seorang prajurit dianggap lebih mampu ketika dapat menguasai bahasa internasional khususnya keterampilan berkomunikasi dalam Bahasa Inggris. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris para personel TNI AD juga diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat. Di era digital ini, pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis ICT (information, communication and technology) menjadi metode pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Bahasa Inggris. Karena pada prinsipnya, penggunaan ICT lebih efektif dan efisien, lebih menarik dan kekinian (up to date), serta mampu merangsang daya kreatifitas dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Pelatihan Bahasa Ingris berbasis ICT dengan fokus pemanaatan Mobile Assisted Language Learning(MALL) akan memudahkan dalam mempelajari keterampilan Bahasa Inggris pada setiap skills yaitu speaking, writing, reading dan listening, serta struktur kebahasaannya seperti grammar dan pronunciation. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini yaitu memberikan pelatihan Bahasa Inggris berbasis ICT untuk prajurit di Yonarmed 8/UY dengan materi ajar yang di sesuaikan dengan kebutuhan para prajurit. Sebanyak 20 peserta pelatihan yaitu para prajurit dengan kategore level Bahasa Inggris pemula (beginner). Mereka di berikan pelatihan Bahasa Inggris selama 8 kali secara luring dengan integrasi pembelajaran berbasis ICT. Kegiatan Pelatihan berjalan sesuai target karena antusias dari para peserta yang sangat tinggi dalam mempelajari dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan berkomunikasi dalam Bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Analysing English learning for Economics and Business students at dr. Soebandi University involves examining how English material and instruction is tailored to meet their specific academic and professional needs. In digital era of global economy, proficiency in English is crucial for accessing international markets, participating in global business networks, and understanding global economic trends. Thus, this study is to find out how English language learning is designed for students in economics and business disciplines and its impact on their academic and professional success. The qualitative method is applied to investigate the Needs Analysis. The data is collected through questionnaire and interviews to gather all information to improve the materials design of English for Economic and Business subject. There were 30 students of Economic and Business Faculty at dr. Soebandi University, and two lecturers. The finding of the study shows material relevance content, task-based learning and technology enhance materials that needed and should be improved in designing effective materials for Economics and Business students, which  preparing them for both academic and professional success.

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECED) is a critical phase in child development that encompasses cognitive, social and emotional aspects. In today's digital era, social media such as YouTube offers great potential to enrich early childhood learning experiences. This research aims to explore how the utilization of YouTube can increase children's Indonesian language learning motivation at PAUD ASTER 36. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which allows for an in-depth understanding of the use of YouTube in the context of early childhood education and its impact on Indonesian language learning motivation. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews and observations with parents, educators and children. The results show that educational videos on YouTube that are engaging and interactive, such as animations and educational songs, increase ECED children's interest and engagement in Indonesian language learning. However, it is important to choose quality content and manage the duration of screen time wisely. This study concludes that YouTube can be an effective learning tool if used in the right way, including integration with traditional learning methods and close monitoring of screen time.

Abstract

The development of language skills in early childhood often encounters a range of obstacles. This occurs because early childhood education frequently employs conventional teaching methods that do not sufficiently engage the children’s needs in active language use. Thus, it is necessary to develop the methods adapting to the children's needs to improve language skills in early childhood, namely the conversation method. This research aims to explain the language skills of early childhood before and after the conversation method is applied. The research design is called Classroom Action Research (CAR). In this research, there we four stages include: 1) determining the population and sample, 2) data and sources of data, 3) data collection techniques, 4) data analysis techniques. The research results show that there is an improvement in children's language skills after implementing the conversation method. This can be seen from the results of observations of teacher activities in cycle I and cycle II which have increased, from an average value of 67.40% to 83.94%. The results of observations of children's activities in cycle I and cycle II also increased, from an average value of 56.62% to 78.45%.

Abstract

Whatsapp is always used in communication at this time. Lecturers and students also use the application to communicate about lectures. However, there are still many mistakes in writing messages in whatsapp. The objectives of this study are 1) To describe and explain capitalization errors, 2) Describe and explain the forms of errors in writing punctuation dots (.), commas (,), question (?), exclamation points (!), colons (:), quotation marks ("), and conjunctions (-), 3) Describe and explain the forms of word writing errors in whatsapp Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences Pharmacy Study Program Batch 2023 with MKDU Lecturers at Dr. Soebandi University. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The stages are 1) determining the research setting, 2) determining the research method, 3) collecting data, 4) analyzing data, 5) checking data validity, 6) data exposure and data findings exposure. The results of the study showed 789 language errors in the writing of punctuation and spelling in whatsapp students of the Faculty of Health Sciences Pharmacy Study Program Batch 2023 with MKDU Lecturers at Dr. Soebandi University. These errors are classified into capitalization errors as much as 357 data, then language errors in punctuation writing, namely period (.) 159 data, comma (,) 37 data, question mark (?) 11 data, exclamation mark (!) 3 data, colon (:) 1 data, double quotation mark (") 2 data, hyphen (-) 6 data, and language errors in writing words (abbreviations, re-forms, regional languages, and foreign languages) as much as 213 data.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to mastery sentence elements, to compose single sentences of Bahasa, and describe the relationship between elements sentence mastery and the ability to compose single sentences of Bahasa. The participant in this research is Xth Grader MA Al Misri. This research used descriptive with a correlational approach. In this research, four research stages were used, namely: 1) determining the population and sample, 2) data collection techniques, 3) research instruments, and 4) data analysis techniques. The result of this research based on the data analysis found that the participants’ mastery in sentence elements is in a good category with an average score is 72,55. The participants’ writing ability to compose single sentences in Bahasa is in a good category with an average score is 71,63. The calculated r was found 0,953 which was greater (>) than r table with a significant level of 5%, that is 0,423. Based on the interpretation result of interpretation guideline table, found that the calculated r (0,923) is categorized as a strong category. The result of calculation showed that the calculated t (17,68) is greater (>) than t table (2,085). The correlation result of this study showed that the significance level of two-party test is 5% and dk = n-2 = 20. The conclusion of this study is there is a positive and significance correlation between the sentence elements mastery and the ability to compose single sentences of Bahasa in Xth Grader MA Al Misri, Curahmalang, Rambipuji, Jember.

Abstract

English language teaching at the vocational education level, such as at Politeknik Masamy Internasional Banyuwangi, faces unique challenges and opportunities in the context of developing language competence for students. This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by lecturers and students and explore the opportunities that can be leveraged to improve the effectiveness of English language teaching at Masamy International Polytechnic of Banyuwangi. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method involving interviews with lecturers and students as well as classroom observations. The findings show that the main challenges in teaching English at Masamy International Polytechnic of Banyuwangi include limited learning facilities, differences in students' language proficiency levels, and students' lack of motivation to learn English in depth. However, opportunities to overcome these challenges are also wide open through the use of educational technology, curriculum development that is more contextual and relevant to industry needs, and increased training for teachers. The results of this study are expected to provide useful references for the development of teaching strategies at Politeknik Masamy Internasional Banyuwangi and other vocational education institutions.

Abstract

In Digital Era, E-learning involves the use of the internet and mobile learning, including all types of gadgets. English teachers are required to apply creative and innovative teaching models in designing ICT-based learning that is appropriate to the needs of students. This study is to identify the types of ICT tools and describes the challenges and benefits of ICT in English Language Teaching and Learning at SMKN 8 Jember. It employs a descriptive qualitative method with interviews and documentation of lesson plans for data collection. The participants include 100 students from X, XI, and XII grades, and the English teachers. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate the types of ICT media used by teachers in the teaching and learning and the implementation of ICT as a media and learning resource with the students’ responses about 57% strongly agree and 43% agree. It means that teachers already applied the ICT in classroom quite good because they have effectively utilized ICT in English language teaching easier for students to grasp the learning materials, learning motivation, and learning outcomes. Besides the benefits, it is hope to effectively address the challenges of ICT use in learning English, teachers can receive targeted training and support in several areas. These programs aim to build their confidence, technical skills, and pedagogical strategies for integrating ICT into their teaching practice.

Abstract

Pemahaman terhadap unsur-unsur kalimat akan mempengaruhi siswa dalam menyusun sebuah kalimat. Dengan meletakkan unsur kalimat yang salah, kalimat yang dibuatpun akan menjadi tidak benar. Dengan demikian, pemahaman terhadap unsur-unsur kalimat perlu ditingkatkan guna dapat membuat kalimat dengan benar. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini memiliki tujuan, yaitu:  menambah pemahaman terkait unsur-unsur kalimat dan melatih keterampilan siswa dalam menulis kalimat tunggal bahasa Indonesia dengan benar. Hasil kegiatan PKM ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan terhadap pemahaman unsur-unsur kalimat dan keterampilan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat tunggal bahasa Indonesia. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya penurunan persentasi kesalahan dalam menyusun kalimat tunggal yaitu pada observasi awal persentasi kesalahan sebanyak 75,8%, setelah pelatihan menjadi 7,6%. Temuan penting lainnya yaitu adanya hubungan terhadap pemahaman unsur-usnsur kalimat dengan penyusunan kalimat tunggal. Semakin tinggi pemahaman terhadap unsur-unsur kalimat, siswa akan semakin terampil dalam menyusun kalimat tunggal. Simpulan dalam kegiatan ini adalah bahwa dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan dan pemberian materi yang tepat akan meningkatkan pemahaman terhadap unsur-unsur kalimat dan kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat tunggal. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari hasil observasi awal ditemukan 379 kesalahan dalam menulis kalimat, setelah melaksanakan pelatihan ditemukan 38 kesalahan dalam menulis kalimat.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial YouTube secara terarah melalui konten edukasi memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kosakata, pemahaman bahasa, dan keterampilan komunikasi anak usia dini. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan video cerita rakyat sebagai alat pembelajaran di PAUD ASTER 36, bertujuan untuk memperkaya kosakata bahasa Indonesia anak. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah action research yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi, serta refleksi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kosakata anak, dengan 83,82% siswa mencapai indikator pencapaian yang ditetapkan. Selain itu, antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan sangat tinggi, didukung oleh umpan balik positif dari guru dan orang tua. Kendala teknis seperti koneksi internet dapat diatasi dengan solusi yang tepat. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penambahan variasi konten dan media pembelajaran lainnya untuk mendukung keberlanjutan program di masa depan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa yang baik dan benar di kalangan anak usia dini.  Simpulan dari kegiatan ini tidak hanya berhasil mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan, tetapi juga memberikan fondasi yang kuat bagi pengembangan bahasa anak-anak, mengintegrasikan pembelajaran yang holistik, interaktif, dan menyenangkan melalui media video. Ke depannya, keberlanjutan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat terus dilakukan guna meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak secara berkelanjutan dan lebih efektif.
