Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi aljabar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 15 orang siswa kelas VII¹ SMP Negeri 3 Gunung Toar. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni berupa soal tes tentang kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Dimana setiap 1 soal terdapat 1 indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Soal yang diberikan yaitu soal mengenai materi Aljabar. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan ini menunjukkan bahwa dari ke 15 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Gunung Toar terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok siswa. Pertama, siswa yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang rendah ada sebanyak 5 orang, dengan persentase 33%. Kedua, siswa yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang sedang berjumlah 7 orang, dengan persentase tertinggi yakni 47%. Ketiga, siswa yang memiliki tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang tinggi, hanya berjumlah 3 orang saja dengan persentase sebesar 20%. Dengan demikian, tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Gunung Toar tergolong pada kategori sedang. Yakni hampir setengah dari jumlah subjek di kelas tersebut yang berada pada kategori tersebut.

Abstract

Classroom management is an activity that needs to be planned and implemented by a teacher during the teaching and learning process. Teachers must be able to control the classroom situation and give special attention to students in order to achieve success in the learning process. The aim of this research is to expand knowledge and understanding for teaching staff so that they can increase creativity and innovation in managing classes so that they can create effective learning. The method the author uses is a literature review with a descriptive approach used in this research, where the data is analyzed through the literature review stage. The research results show the importance of the role of an educator in managing the classroom to increase students' learning effectiveness. As a teacher, first understand the material that will be taught to students so that when students ask questions, the teacher can easily give them a detailed explanation. Apart from that, teachers can also apply various learning models that can stimulate their students' thinking patterns in a positive direction. Therefore, the higher the level of creativity of an educator in managing the class, the greater the effectiveness of students in the learning process.
