Abstract

The challenge of low student learning outcomes and the limitations in motivating their active involvement in learning remains a significant issue in various educational contexts. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of formative assessment as an approach to improving student learning outcomes across different educational levels. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA framework, encompassing the analysis of 30 relevant articles from primary education to higher education. Data collection was conducted by identifying and categorizing relevant articles, then analyzing findings related to the impact of formative assessment on student learning. Data analysis was performed through synthesizing key findings from the studies analyzed. The results of the study show that formative assessment significantly contributes to improving students' understanding of the learning material, promoting critical thinking skills, increasing learning motivation, and enhancing students' active engagement in the learning process. Additionally, the study highlights the crucial role of teachers in providing relevant and constructive feedback. Challenges in implementing formative assessment include high teacher workloads, limited training, and inadequate technology support. The conclusion of this study is that formative assessment can be a highly effective tool for improving the quality of learning when supported by adequate teacher training, the development of technology infrastructure, and better integration into the curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an instrument to assess lecturers' conceptual understanding of scientific article writing using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The instrument is designed to evaluate lecturers' comprehension of key aspects of scientific writing, including structure, methodology, publication ethics, and the use of academic language. Adopting a research and development approach, the study involved expert validation and empirical testing with 275 respondents from various regions across Indonesia. The findings indicate that the instrument exhibits high content validity, with an average Scale Content Validity Index (S-CVI/Ave) of 0.968, and robust internal reliability, as evidenced by a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.852. Item-total correlation analysis confirmed the validity of all items, with Corrected Item-Total Correlation values exceeding 0.3044. The instrument functions both as an evaluative tool for assessing lecturers' scientific writing skills and as a learning resource to enhance their competencies. The study concludes that the instrument is a valid and reliable measure of lecturers' conceptual understanding of scientific article writing. Its implications highlight its potential as a vital resource in training and professional development programs for lecturers in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of digital learning media in improving numeracy literacy using a meta-analytic approach. A total of 21 relevant studies were analyzed to determine the effect sizes of various digital media, including augmented reality, website-based learning, and gamification, across different educational levels. The findings indicate that digital learning media significantly enhance students' numeracy skills, with an average effect size of 0.845. Factors such as instructional methods, material complexity, intervention duration, and types of digital media influenced the level of effectiveness. Website-based media exhibited the highest effectiveness (d = 1.48), while audiovisual and gamified media contributed positively to non-cognitive learning outcomes. This study underscores the importance of integrating digital media to advance students' numeracy literacy in the era of technology.

Abstract

Although the implementation of the Community Service Program (PMP) in higher education demonstrates high participation and funding distribution, its effectiveness in supporting the achievement of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education objectives has not been comprehensively evaluated. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of the program's implementation is needed. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the 2023 Beginner Community Empowerment Program (PMP) organized by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The primary focus is directed at the Product aspect, taking into account the systemic interconnectedness of all model components. Secondary data were obtained from 487 output validation documents and 105 national monitoring reports. In contrast, primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with three key informants who are national reviewers and program guideline compilers. The evaluation results show that the quantitative achievement of five types of outputs (scientific articles, popular articles/mass media, videos, posters, and partner empowerment) is relatively high. However, the quality of the substance and partner participation still varies. The main weaknesses lie in the program planning stage, the lack of data-based needs assessments, and the minimal involvement of partners as co-creators. These findings underscore the importance of revising implementation guidelines, strengthening implementers' technical capacity, and validating quality-based outcomes. The CIPP model has proven effective in identifying root causes and providing direction for systemic and sustainable program improvement.
