Abstract

In learning to read, a condition is often encountered where a person has succeeded in reaching the last line of a reading, but he does not remember what he has read. Therefore, in learning dokkai besides requiring knowledge of kanji, vocabulary, grammar and understanding, it also requires working memory or momentary memory for each sentence that is read. The purpose of this research is to determine the correlation of Working Memory Capacity of Japanese learners based on the Dokkai ability test (reading span test, then to determine the increase in Working Memory capacity of Japanese learners after the use of ICT in Dokkai learning. The method used in this research is descriptive, with a descriptive-quantitative analysis which describes the correlation of working memory in Dokkai learning and the effectiveness of using ICT to improve Dokkai abilities.

Abstract

Forms of speech that violate the principles of civility can be found in everyday life and in literary works, one of which is anime which is a typical Japanese animated cartoon. This research aimed to find out the speech that violates the principles of civility in illocutionary speech spoken by Mikoshiba, a tsundere character. This research used descriptive qualitative method with data collection technique in the form of listening technique by using advanced technique in the form of note-taking technique, and the analysis technique is contextual analysis method. Violation of the principle of politeness of illocutionary speech spoken by Mikoshiba, a tsundere character, was found as much as 23 data, dominated by the maxim of modesty, but no illocutionary speech was found that violated the maxim of sympathy. There are 16 meanings in Mikoshiba's illocutionary speech that violate the principle of courtesy, namely the meaning of prohibiting, refusing, inviting, ordering, complaining, ordering, regretting, insulting, underestimating, stating, promising, boasting, praising, denying, suggesting, and accepting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze hate speech on social media in the context of Japanese and Indonesian society using a sociolinguistic approach and critical discourse analysis. Data were collected from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, totaling more than 2,000 data from both countries. The results show that hate speech in Indonesia tends to be explicit, emotional, and religiously or politically charged, while in Japan it is more implicit and implied in the form of metaphors or euphemisms. The analysis also reveals that hate speech does not only reflect individual opinions, but also reproduces dominant ideologies and maintains social inequality. This study is expected to be an important contribution to efforts to improve digital literacy and develop evidence-based policy strategies to address cross-cultural hate speech.
