Abstract

This study examines the consumption behavior of K-Pop fans from the perspective of maslahah in Islamic economics. The main problem raised is the imbalance between the fulfillment of needs and desires, and how it is relevant to the concept of welfare according to Islamic law. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the consumption behavior of K-Pop fans reflects the principles of maslahah which emphasize the balance between worldly satisfaction and the blessings of the hereafter. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach with qualitative methods. Data were collected through observation and interviews with a number of K-Pop fans in the author's environment as research samples. The results of the study indicate that consumption that is oriented solely to the fulfillment of desires tends to be inconsistent with the principles of maslahah, because it ignores the spiritual aspects and social responsibility in Islam. The implications of this finding emphasize the importance of awareness of Islamic values in forming consumption behavior that is not only materially satisfying, but also has worship value and supports the achievement of true welfare.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the influence of gross regional domestic product, economic growth, and human development index on poverty levels in four Madura districts: Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep. We analyze secondary data, including annual data from 2014-2023, using the panel data regression method. The research results show that gross regional domestic product has a significant positive influence on poverty levels, indicating that increasing economic activity can increase poverty due to potential inequality in economic distribution. Conversely, research demonstrates a significant negative impact of economic growth and the human development index on poverty levels. This means that increasing economic growth and human development can effectively reduce the level of poverty in Madura. The policy implications necessitate the implementation of more inclusive strategies to promote equitable distribution of economic benefits throughout the region and underscore the significance of investing in human development to enhance the quality of life and economic prospects of Madurese individuals.

Abstract

The leadership of Umar ibn al-Khattab is undeniable as a statesman capable of formulating new regulations and revising those established during the time of the Prophet Muhammad and Abu Bakr. During his rule, poverty was significantly reduced through the application of sound economic principles. This study employs a library research method and descriptive analysis using books, journals, and papers related to the economic policies of Umar ibn al-Khattab. The research discusses monetary policies and poverty alleviation strategies during his reign. The monetary policy included the establishment of currency as an effort to stabilize the economy, while poverty alleviation strategies were carried out through strengthening the independence of the baitul mal (public treasury) and utilizing land to increase state revenue. The persistent issue of poverty, which remains difficult to overcome in modern economic systems, had already been a serious concern during Umar ibn al-Khattab’s leadership. The findings of this study indicate that the economic policies of his era remain relevant as references for addressing poverty through resource management and transparent, productive public financial governance.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of employee competence and discipline on performance in a company in Pamekasan Regency. Although previous research has linked competencies to performance, the specific interaction between discipline and competencies and their combined effect on performance is less explored. This study aims to fill this knowledge gap by assessing how competence directly affects performance and how it affects employee discipline which in turn affects performance. Using structural equation modeling on data from 39 respondents, findings show that competence significantly improves performance directly, and also indirectly through improved discipline. However, the direct effect of competence on performance is stronger than its indirect effect through discipline. These insights emphasize the importance of integrating a competency-based approach with a disciplined work environment to optimize employee performance. This study contributes to the competency-based performance literature and offers practical implications for improving employee productivity through competencies and targeted discipline. Highlights: Direct Impact of Competence: Competence significantly enhances employee performance directly, highlighting its pivotal role in productivity. Role of Discipline: Discipline not only supports but also mediates the relationship between competence and performance, indicating its crucial function in organizational success. Comparative Influence: The direct influence of competence on performance is more pronounced than its indirect effect through discipline, suggesting primary focus on competence development for immediate performance gains. Keywords: Competence, Discipline, Employee Performance, Structural Equation Modeling
