Abstract

The implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) in monument recognition as a sustainable tourism strategy is an innovative approach that blends cultural heritage with modern technology. This research explores the concept and implementation of AR as a tool that enables monument visitors to dynamically interact with their cultural heritage. The methodology of a prototype is employed as the framework for this study. The research begins with an in-depth analysis of the current state of tourism and the challenges faced in cultural heritage preservation. A comprehensive literature survey is conducted to understand the latest developments in AR technology and its applications in the tourism sector. The outcome of this research is the development of an AR application that can be used by monument visitors. This application allows users to view monuments in their historical context, obtain in-depth explanations of architectural and cultural elements, and participate in interactive experiences that enhance their understanding of cultural heritage. The prototype methodology guides the stages of developing this AR application, from initial design to testing and ongoing improvement. Testing of the AR application is carried out at various monument locations, involving visitors in assessing its usage and its impact on the tourism experience. Evaluation results demonstrate a significant increase in visitor satisfaction, their understanding of monuments, and their interest in participating in sustainable tours. This research underscores the significant potential of AR technology in enhancing cultural heritage preservation efforts and sustainable tourism. The prototype methodology used not only guides the development of the AR application but also ensures that the application is user-centric and provides a satisfying experience. However, challenges in implementing this technology include technical aspects, financial sustainability, as well as education and training to maximize the benefits of AR in a tourism context. In conclusion, the application of AR in monument recognition is a crucial step towards a more sustainable future for tourism, with a focus on satisfying visitor experiences.

Abstract

Seiring dengan berkembangnya pertumbuhan kota, aktivitas transportasi menjadi semakin meningkat, hal ini dapat menimbulkan tantangan dalam manajemen lalu lintas, tantangan paling utama yang dialami oleh kota-kota besar yaitu kemacetan lalu lintas dan tundaan di beberapa area persimpangan. Terdapat teknologi yang dapat membantu mengatasi tantangan tersebut, salah satunya dengan menggunakan website area traffic control system atau sering disebut ATCS, website tersebut adalah sistem yang menyediakan informasi terkait dengan situasi arus lalu lintas secara real-time, sehingga ATCS dapat membantu dalam mengelola manajemen lalu lintas di persimpangan dengan lebih efektif. Fokus dari penelitian ini yakni merancang User Interface website ATCS yang user-friendly dan juga informatif, dalam penelitian ini menerapkan metode User-Centered Design yang terdiri dari empat tahap antara lain Understand Context of Use, Specify User Requirements, Design Solutions dan Evaluate Against Requirements. Hasil penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode UCD telah berhasil menghasilkan tampilan yang berfokus pada pengguna, berdasarkan kebutuhan pengguna terhadap website. Sehingga memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan website ATCS dengan menyediakan informasi yang lebih informatif. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi untuk mempermudah pengguna pada saat mengakses informasi dengan lebih cepat dan efisien. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan website ATCS dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman atau framework tertentu.

Abstract

Untuk membantu pengambilan keputusan strategis berbasis data, penelitian ini menganalisis data penjualan Superstore dari 2014 hingga 2017. Pengaruh diskon terhadap penjualan, wilayah potensial, produk unggulan, dan fluktuasi penjualan musiman adalah masalah utama. Pembersihan data, analisis mendalam, dan visualisasi melalui dashboard interaktif adalah solusi yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penjualan mencapai puncaknya pada Kuartal 4, terutama pada November 2017. Wilayah West, khususnya California, mencatatkan penjualan tertinggi, sementara sub-kategori Phones (Technology) dan Chairs (Furniture) menjadi produk unggulan. Diskon terbukti memiliki korelasi positif terhadap peningkatan volume penjualan, dengan segmen pelanggan Consumer menjadi kontributor utama transaksi. Standard Class adalah mode pengiriman paling populer di kalangan pelanggan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan strategi promosi diskon, manajemen stok untuk produk unggulan, dan optimasi mode pengiriman. Dashboard interaktif berfungsi sebagai alat eksplorasi yang efektif, membantu bisnis menemukan peluang baru dan meningkatkan profitabilitas.

Abstract

Prior social computing studies described that the performance of technology products is about how the product use benefits the users, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). To have an impact, ensuring how AI is used is a prerequisite after the development. Furthermore, its use is also influenced by how users accept AI. This study aimed to develop an acceptance and success model of AI use in the higher education world from the user perspective, to decompose the model into its instrument level, and to test the validity and reliability of the research instrument. The researchers developed the model by adopting and combining the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Information System Success Model (ISSM) and adapting the proposed model in the context of AI use in higher education learning. The measurement items were derived from definitions of the variables and indicators of the model. The instrument was tested sequentially using triangulation methods. The quantitative testing was online survey with about 51 respondents and the qualitative one was interview involving five experts. This study may contribute methodologically as one of the guidance for novice scholars in similar works. It may relate to the clarity of the research procedure and the implementation of the mixed testing methods. Of course, the assumptions, samples, and data used in the study cannot be generalized for the other studies. Referring to the model development, the proposed model may not cover the other factors related to the ethical, cultural, and organizational barriers for adopting AI. These barriers may also affect its acceptance and success. Thus, the adoption of the factors related the barriers may also be interesting to study further.

Abstract

This study explores the application of machine learning algorithms, specifically Linear Regression and Decision Tree Regressor, for predicting student academic performance using academic grade data from Kaggle. The analyzed factors include attendance, assignment grades, midterm exam grades, and final exam grades. The research methodology encompasses data collection, preprocessing, model development, training, and validation. This study contributes to the field of educational data analytics by demonstrating how machine learning can provide actionable insights into students' learning patterns and academic outcomes. The findings emphasize the effectiveness of Linear Regression for linearly distributed data and Decision Tree Regressor for capturing complex, non-linear relationships. The implications of this research suggest that machine learning models can assist educators in identifying key factors influencing student performance, enabling targeted interventions to enhance learning outcomes. Future research should explore larger, more diverse datasets and incorporate ensemble methods, such as Random Forest or Gradient Boosting, to improve model generalization and prediction accuracy. Additionally, integrating socio-economic and psychological factors could provide a more holistic perspective on academic achievement.
