Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Google Classroom (GCR) as a communication medium in enhancing student learning motivation within the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics, Asahan University. The integration of technology and information (IT) into the education sector, particularly in higher education, has become fundamental to the academic community's lifestyle. In this research, the authors employed descriptive qualitative research methods, utilizing data collection techniques that included text messages related to lecture assignments delivered via Google Classroom. The informants for this study comprised students enrolled in the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics, Asahan University, specifically those in their third semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, who participated in business communication courses facilitated by lecturers utilizing Google Classroom as part of the instructional process. The selected informants were drawn from parallel classes A and B through purposive sampling techniques, including ten individuals each from classes III-F, III-G, III-E, III-J, and III-L, resulting in a total sample size of 50 participants. The findings of this study indicate that the use of GCR as a communication medium is significantly beneficial for both lecturers and students, serving as an effective tool for enhancing student academic achievement in technological competencies.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills in solving polynomial calculus problems through the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. Creative thinking skills are measured based on indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Using a qualitative descriptive approach to explore student perspectives and classroom interactions, data collection techniques include creative thinking ability tests and observations. The research subjects were mathematics education students who attended lectures using the Think Talk Write learning model. The presentation of achievement in the fluency indicator was 86%, the flexibility indicator was 83%, the originality indicator was 48%, and the elaboration indicator was 75%. The results showed that the application of the TTW model was able to improve students' creative thinking skills, especially in the aspects of fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. However, the originality aspect still needs to be improved. Thus, the TTW model is effective for use in polynomial calculus learning to develop student creativity.   Keywords: Creative Thinking, Multivariate Calculus, Think Talk Write   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kalkulus peubah banyak melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW).

Abstract

The study aims to describe the types of idioms and analyze the theory of idiomatic meaning contained in Oka Rusmini's novel "Tarian Bumi" based on Abdul Chaer's semantics. This research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data in this study consist of excerpts of sentences containing idioms, and the research data source is Oka Rusmini's novel "Tarian Bumi." Data collection was conducted through reading and note-taking. Data analysis techniques were carried out through data reduction, classification of full and partial idioms, meaning analysis, and interpretation based on the context of the idiom's use in the text. The results showed that 36 idioms were identified and classified as full or partial. A complete idiom is an expression that experiences a shift in meaning as a whole, making it impossible to convert based on the lexical meaning of its constituent elements. A partial idiom is an expression that still has a meaningful connection with one of its lexical elements. The use of idioms in Oka Rusmini's novel Tarian Bumi serves to describe the characters' inner states, reveal the dynamics of social relationships, and intensify the conflict in the story. It also serves as an expressive means that enriches the story's meaning and deepens the reader's understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of trauma and the inner child in the novel Feli dan Trauma by Steven Christiano Swandjaya through a literary psychology approach. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, drawing on literary psychology and Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory. The data source was the novel Feli dan Trauma, which consisted of narratives, dialogues, monologues, and event descriptions representing trauma, the inner child, and the main character's personality dynamics. Data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed using an interactive model involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the protagonist’s trauma originates from the loss of a mother figure, emotional abuse, rejection, and family conflicts experienced since childhood. These traumatic experiences shape a wounded, fearful, and angry inner child, reflected in anxiety, insecurity, unmet emotional needs, and recurring emotional conflicts. The analysis based on Sigmund Freud’s theory indicates that trauma and the inner child significantly influence the interaction of the id, ego, and superego within the protagonist’s personality. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated analysis of trauma, the inner child, and Freud’s personality structure within a literary psychology framework. This study contributes to the development of literary psychology, particularly by understanding the representation of trauma and its influence on character personality development in contemporary literature.
