Abstract

This study aims to increase environmental awareness through education on cleanliness and recycling at the Ranggi Literacy House located in the PWI Housing Complex Block A59, Jalan PWI, Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra 20371. The method used in this research is action research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 15 children at Ranggi Literacy House, ranging in age from 6 to 12 years old. The research was conducted in several stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, documentation of activities, and a simple questionnaire regarding participants' understanding before and after the activity. Furthermore, the data was analysed descriptively qualitatively to see the extent to which this activity can increase environmental awareness among participants. The results of the study showed that after participating in the education, there was an increase in children's understanding of the importance of disposing of waste in its place and skills in recycling waste into more useful items. With the sustainability of this program, it is hoped that environmental awareness can increase and create a culture of caring for the environment among children and the surrounding community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) di Lembaga Kursus dan Pelatihan (LKP) Kursus Menjahit Kutilang. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini adalah instruktur dan pengelola LKP Kursus Menjahit Kutilang. Dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia di LKP Kutilang sangat ditekankan dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan non formal. Pengelolaan oleh pendiri LKP meliputi strategi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelatihan dan penilaian kinerja instruktur. Ditemukan bahwa perencanaan SDM dilakukan dengan memperhatikan kebutuhan sumber daya manusia, sementara pengorganisasian bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan keterampilan instruktur. Pelatihan menjadi fokus utama untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, sedangkan penilaian kerja instruktur dilakukan secara sistematis dan objektif.

Abstract

The study was motivated by the low participation of learners, as indicated by inconsistent attendance and lack of active involvement during the learning process. The focus of this study includes tutor strategies in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning activities. This study aims to analyze tutor strategies in improving the participation of Package C learners in the learning process at PKBM Laskar Pelangi. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that tutor strategies were implemented through adjusting learning to learners’ conditions, using interactive methods and learning media, providing motivation, applying discussions and question-and-answer methods, using personal approaches, giving learning stimuli, and conducting evaluations through assignments, exercises, interactive quizzes, and feedback. These strategies helped improve learners’ comfort, attention, and involvement during the learning process. Thus, tutor strategies play an important role in increasing the participation of Package C learners at PKBM Laskar Pelangi.
