Abstract

This study aims to increase environmental awareness through education on cleanliness and recycling at the Ranggi Literacy House located in the PWI Housing Complex Block A59, Jalan PWI, Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra 20371. The method used in this research is action research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 15 children at Ranggi Literacy House, ranging in age from 6 to 12 years old. The research was conducted in several stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, documentation of activities, and a simple questionnaire regarding participants' understanding before and after the activity. Furthermore, the data was analysed descriptively qualitatively to see the extent to which this activity can increase environmental awareness among participants. The results of the study showed that after participating in the education, there was an increase in children's understanding of the importance of disposing of waste in its place and skills in recycling waste into more useful items. With the sustainability of this program, it is hoped that environmental awareness can increase and create a culture of caring for the environment among children and the surrounding community.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the time management strategies employed by students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah and to identify the factors that influence their ability to manage time. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study type. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using a thematic analysis method, which consisted of three main stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study indicate that students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah still face difficulties in managing their time efficiently. Factors such as procrastination, inaccurate time estimation, and lack of priority are the main obstacles in student time management. This study also found that well-defined goals, internal motivation, and commitment to self-improvement are significant supporting factors in student time management. By applying effective time management strategies and understanding the factors that influence them, students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah can improve their learning productivity and achieve their expected academic goals.

Abstract

This study explored the impact of the implementation of the National Competency Framework (KKNI), block learning system, and practicum reports on the learning stress of students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Negeri Medan. A qualitative method was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews with five students, including two from the Mathematics Study Program, two from Chemistry, and one from Biology. The findings indicated that Biology students experienced lower stress levels compared to their peers in Chemistry and Mathematics. A better connection between theory and practice in biology education, along with stronger social support, contributed to the reduction of stress. In contrast, Mathematics and Chemistry students reported higher stress levels due to heavy academic demands and challenges in time management. Although the block learning system was designed to enhance focus, it increased pressure on students struggling to adapt. The study emphasized the importance of effective coping strategies and psychological support in managing stress. The findings aimed to assist the faculty in designing educational policies that address student needs, including improvements in facilities and psychological services. This research contributed to a better understanding of academic challenges in higher education and highlighted the significance of supporting students' mental well-being.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media sosial terhadap konsentrasi dan fokus belajar mahasiswa/i Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). Dalam era digital saat ini, media sosial telah menjadi bagian penting dalam kehidupan mahasiswa, baik sebagai sarana komunikasi, sumber informasi akademik ataupun sebagai sarana hiburan. Namun, penggunaan yang berlebihan dapat mengganggu konsentrasi dan produktivitas belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap mahasiswa/i FBS UNIMED yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial dapat membantu dalam pembelajaran melalui akses cepat ke informasi dan diskusi akademik, penggunaannya yang tidak terkontrol dapat menyebabkan gangguan focus, penurunan efektivas belajar, serta kecenderungan multitasking yang berakibat pada rendahnya pemahaman materi dan meningkatkan risiko kecanduan yang berdampak pada prestasi akademik. Media sosial memiliki dampak positif dan dampak negatif terhadap suatu pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi manajemen waktu dan penggunaan media sosial yang bijak agar mahasiswa dapat memanfaatkan manfaatnya tanpa mengorbankan focus belajar dan mengganggu konsentrasi dalam belajar.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of digital technology in learning and the professional development of teachers in the digital era at the elementary school level. The digital transformation requires teachers to master digital competencies in order to deliver interactive and innovative instruction. The study is motivated by various challenges, including limited formal training, inadequate digital infrastructure, and the differing instructional needs between lower and upper elementary levels. A review of literature supports that enhancing digital literacy through TPACK models and intensive training approaches is an effective strategy to improve teaching quality. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with two teachers (from a first-grade class and a fifth-grade class) and current literature studies. Content and thematic analysis were employed to identify key issues regarding technological integration and professional development strategies. The results reveal that limited formal training and digital infrastructure adversely affect the teaching process, while participation in workshops and peer collaboration enhances teachers’ digital competencies. These findings provide strategic recommendations for schools and education authorities to develop continuous training programs tailored to the specific needs of each educational level.

Abstract

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan aspek penting dalam kesejahteraan individu, terutama bagi anak-anak dalam masa pertumbuhan. Anak-anak di panti asuhan sering menghadapi keterbatasan akses terhadap perawatan gigi, sehingga meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan mulut. Penyuluhan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan dalam menjaga kebersihan gigi melalui metode ceramah, demonstrasi, serta praktik langsung. Berdasarkan teori penyuluhan, program edukasi yang berkelanjutan memiliki dampak yang lebih efektif dalam menciptakan perubahan perilaku yang bertahan lama. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di Yayasan Panti Asuhan Kasih Samaeri Ailen Indonesia ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan perubahan perilaku pada peserta setelah penyuluhan dilakukan. Program serupa perlu dilakukan secara berkala untuk membentuk kebiasaan hidup sehat bagi anak-anak panti asuhan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of academic stress on student achievement at the Faculty of Education, State University of Medan (UNIMED). Excessive academic demands can cause academic stress, a psychological condition that can negatively impact student achievement. The research methods used were student interviews and literature review. Based on the results of the study, most students experience academic stress caused by very heavy workloads, pressure to excel, expectations from parents and lecturers, and a strict curriculum. These factors can affect students' learning motivation, time management skills, and academic achievement. Based on these findings, it is important for students to implement effective stress management strategies and for universities to provide psychological support to reduce the negative impact of academic stress on learning achievement.

Abstract

High patient satisfaction will indicate how well the health center is able to provide high-quality medical care. The Service Quality Approach (SERVQUAL) can be used to measure the level of patient satisfaction consisting of fitness, assurance, physical evidence, empathy, and responsiveness. This study examines how satisfied BPJS patients are with medical services. This study was conducted at the Bawomataluo Health Center in Fanayama District. Sampling was carried out using the Accidental Sampling method totaling 99 people. The results of the study showed the influence of reliability, assurance), real evidence, empathy, and no influence of responsiveness to health services. The conclusion of this study is that there is no influence when viewed from the five dimensions in terms of performance level, but there is an influence when viewed from the aspects of completeness, assurance, physical evidence, empathy, and responsibility on the level of BPJS patient satisfaction with health services. It is hoped that the Health Center can improve patient happiness, including attention from health workers who are very important in meeting patient needs to get special care.
