Abstract

Islamic economics is fundamentally rooted in divine principles, shaping an economic system that originates from God, is directed towards God, and operates within the framework of Sharia law. Unlike conventional economic systems, which often prioritise materialism and individualism, Islamic economics integrates moral and ethical values, ensuring economic justice and social welfare. The system is built upon two key arguments: first, a theological foundation that emphasises divine guidance in economic activities, and second, an empirical and philosophical perspective that addresses real-world economic challenges. This study examines the philosophical underpinnings of Islamic economics, contrasting it with capitalist and socialist ideologies, which often fail to resolve socio-economic inequalities. By incorporating principles of fairness (ʿadl) and balance (tawāzun), Islamic economics provides an alternative framework that prioritises collective well-being. The study further explores the implications of Islamic economic thought on contemporary financial practices, highlighting its relevance in fostering ethical and sustainable economic growth

Abstract

Islamic banking, based on Sharia principles, aims to establish a fair and ethical financial system by prohibiting riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), and maisir (gambling). This study examines the challenges of Islamic banking literacy, its implementation in financial sectors, and its alignment with Qur'anic and Hadith principles. Using a qualitative approach, the research incorporates literature reviews and case studies to evaluate financial literacy levels and identify barriers to adoption. The findings indicate that limited public knowledge and misconceptions about Islamic banking hinder its broader acceptance. Additionally, regulatory constraints and inadequate dissemination of Islamic banking principles contribute to these challenges. To address them, structured educational programs, policy interventions, digital literacy campaigns, and collaborative initiatives between financial institutions and academia are recommended. Enhancing financial literacy can increase public participation in Sharia-compliant banking, ensuring sustainability in modern economies. This study underscores the importance of an inclusive and ethical financial system, advocating for broader awareness and engagement with Islamic banking principles as a means to develop a more just and equitable economic framework.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse how the modernisation of HR development at MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. This research is a qualitative field research using a descriptive approach. Data collection instruments are observation or observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants were the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of curriculum, the deputy head of public relations, the deputy head of student affairs, the subject teachers, and the head of administration. The analysis technique in this study adopted the stages proposed by Creswell, namely data analysis starting with data collection, then continued with data classification, namely the selection and concentration of attention on the focus being studied. The data analysis process was carried out continuously throughout the research. The results of this study are the development of human resources (HR) at MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan, carried out through several approaches that support each other. The efforts made include training, mentoring, MGMP (Subject Teacher Consultation), and the implementation of On-the-Job Training (OJT). Each approach has an important role in improving the competence and professionalism of educators and education personnel in this school. Through regular training, mentoring, subject teacher meetings (MGMP), and on-the-job training (OJT), educators in this madrasah can improve their pedagogic competence and professionalism. As a result, the quality of teaching becomes more innovative, interactive, and relevant to the times. This approach also strengthens collaboration among teachers and improves school management, creating a dynamic and quality educational environment.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji teori kritis komunikasi sebagai pendekatan analitis yang berfungsi untuk mengkritisi struktur kekuasaan, ideologi, dan relasi sosial dalam praktik komunikasi. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap dinamika kekuasaan dominan, menganalisis representasi dan konstruksi realitas, serta mendorong kesadaran kritis dan transformasi sosial melalui komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research), yang mengandalkan analisis kritis terhadap literatur, buku, jurnal akademik, dan konten media yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori kritis komunikasi berakar pada pemikiran Marxis, kritik budaya, poststrukturalis, dan perspektif feminis. Dalam kajian komunikasi, teori ini diterapkan untuk menganalisis konten media, iklan, propaganda, komunikasi politik, dan wacana antarbudaya. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa teori kritis komunikasi memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran kritis, mendekonstruksi ideologi dominan, dan mendukung perubahan sosial. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan relevansi teori kritis sebagai kerangka berpikir untuk melakukan perlawanan terhadap hegemoni dalam praktik komunikasi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teori kritis komunikasi dapat digunakan sebagai alat strategis bagi pendidik, praktisi media, dan akademisi komunikasi untuk mendorong komunikasi yang emansipatoris dan mempromosikan keadilan sosial dalam kehidupan masyarakat kontemporer. Kata Kunci: Teori Kritis; Komunikasi; Kekuasaan Dominan; Kesadaran Kritis; Perubahan Sosial. Abstract This study examines critical communication theory as an analytical approach that critiques power structures, ideologies, and social relations within communication practices. The main objective of this research is to uncover the dynamics of dominant power, analyze the representation and construction of reality, and promote critical awareness and social transformation through communication. This study adopts a qualitative research design using library research (studi pustaka) as the primary method, relying on the critical analysis of literature, books, academic journals, and relevant media content. The research results show that critical communication theory is rooted in Marxist thought, cultural criticism, poststructuralism, and feminist perspectives. In communication studies, this theory is applied to analyze media content, advertising, propaganda, political communication, and intercultural discourse. The findings emphasize that critical communication theory plays a significant role in enhancing critical consciousness, deconstructing dominant ideologies, and supporting social change. The conclusion highlights the relevance of critical theory in providing a framework for resistance against hegemony in communication practices. The implication of this study suggests that critical communication theory can be used as a strategic tool for educators, media practitioners, and communication scholars to foster emancipatory communication and promote social justice in contemporary society. Abstract

The development of Islamic education in Indonesia reflects a dynamic process aligned with the progress of civilization, particularly regarding the importance of diversity in education, which must be instilled in students' daily lives. In this context, Islamic education plays a central role in preserving, maintaining, and passing down values, beliefs, and traditions to future generations. This study aims to explore and deeply analyze the concept of pluralism from the perspective of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid and examine its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. KH. Abdurrahman Wahid is widely recognized as a prominent figure who consistently upholds the values of pluralism, emphasizing the importance of respecting ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative approach, while data analysis is carried out using content analysis techniques on various written sources. The findings reveal that pluralism, according to KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, serves as a fundamental foundation for building a harmonious society. Values such as tolerance, openness, and respect for differences are central to his perspective. In the educational context, this concept has significant implications, including the need for inclusive curriculum development, teaching methods that foster tolerance, and character formation that emphasizes respect for diversity. Therefore, this study recommends integrating the values of pluralism into the education system as an effort to create a peaceful, respectful, and humanistic learning environment.
