Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a chronic disease that occurs sometimes without symptoms and is still a problem with the increasing number of patients affected by hypertension. There are still many hypertensive patients who are non compliant with their treatment. They think that when they take medication they will be cured, even though antihypertensive medication must still be taken to keep blood pressure under control, so education needs to be carried out using sharia leaflets with Islamic elements which can later help increase patient compliance and always pray, be patient and trust in undergoing treatment. Methods: The research method uses Quasi Experimental which compares the intervention group and the control group with a Pre-test and Post-test design using the MMAS-8 questionnaire to determine the patient's level of medication adherence. Results: There was a significant difference in the level of adherence to taking medication for hypertensive patients in the control group and the intervention group using the Islamic Sharia questionnaire with a p-value of 0.021 < 0.05 and using the MMAS-8 questionnaire, a p-value of 0.005 < 0.05 was obtained. Conclusion: It is said that there is an effect of giving sharia leaflets to prolanis patients at the Gunung Pati Community Health Center, Semarang City in 2024 with a P-value of 0.000 < 0.05

Abstract

Cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the world. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of cancer patients worldwide increases by 6.25 million people, or about 12% of the global population each year. White turmeric contains turmerone, essential oil, and curcuminoids. Curcuminoids have activity against P-388 murine leukemia cells and can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. One of the solid pharmaceutical preparations that is often used is capsules. Capsules require a quick disintegration time immediately after swallowing, and they must be absorbed in the digestive tract to provide bioavailability effects. Therefore, additional materials are needed for the capsule to dissolve quickly after contact with gastric fluid. The population in this study consists of disintegrating agents with various brands. The samples used were sodium starch glycolate, Ac-Di-Sol, and SD600 with a concentration of 4%. The research used an experimental method with a post-test control group design, with four formulations with different disintegrant materials. (sodium starch glycolate, Ac-Di-Sol, dan SD600). The research results show that all formulations meet the requirements for physical quality tests of capsules except for the flow rate test. There is a significant difference between the disintegration time of formula 3 with SD600 and the disintegration time of formula 4 with Ac-Di-Sol. Formula 4 with the disintegrant Ac-Di-Sol has the fastest disintegration time, 15.70 minutes. The factors that influence the results are the moisture and hygroscopicity of the powder.

Abstract

Rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) has the potential as a medicine because it contains chemical compounds 1,8-cineol, camphor, α-pinene limonene, camphene and linalool which work as analgesics and aromatherapy. One of the pharmaceutical preparations that can be used as an analgesic and aromatherapy is a balm preparation because the balm preparation can overcome mild pain and stress. This study aims to determine the effect of cera alba and menthol concentrations on the physical properties of the balm, and to determine the most optimum concentration of cera alba and menthol. The sample used was ylang-ylang essential oil. Rosemary essential oil was made into a balm preparation in 5 formulations with variations of cera alba 5% -11% and menthol 1% -7%. The five formulations were tested for their physical properties including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, adhesion and spreadability. The test results were used to find the optimum formula using the simplex lattice design (SLD) method and the five formulations obtained one best formula, namely formulation 5 with a concentration of cera alba 5% and Menthol 6%.

Abstract

Health efforts in the form of promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and/or palliative measures can be carried out by the government and community self-help groups. Children and adolescents are important assets for shaping a healthy future generation. This service aims to improve the health quality of children and adolescents through promotive, preventive, and curative activities in collaboration with professional organizations in Purwodadi, Grobogan Regency. The methods used were designed as part of the celebration of National Children's Day at Purwodadi City's Green Park on July 27, 2025. The activities included promotive services such as health education on clean and healthy living, balanced nutrition education, and oral health education. Preventive services included free health check-ups, vaccination administration, and health screenings. Meanwhile, curative services include free treatment and vitamin distribution, which provide tangible benefits for children and adolescents in the Purwodadi area. This synergy expands the scope of services and improves the quality of health interventions provided. With 327 participants, this activity successfully increased public knowledge, awareness, and concern about the importance of maintaining health from an early age. The success of this activity is expected to serve as the basis for similar programs in the future, with a focus on sustainability, expansion of the target area, and increased service coverage. This activity is not merely a celebration of National Children's Day but also a collective commitment to building a healthy, intelligent, and competitive younger generation.

Abstract

Depression and anxiety are among the most prevalent mental health disorders worldwide, contributing substantially to disability and mortality, particularly among young adults aged 15–24 years. Their pathophysiology is closely associated with dysregulation of key neurotransmitters, emphasizing the need for safer and more effective long-term therapeutic strategies. Herbal medicine represents a promising alternative due to its multifaceted bioactivity and lower incidence of adverse effects. This review systematically evaluates bioactive compounds from selected medicinal plants and their modulatory effects on neurotransmitter pathways involved in depression and anxiety. Relevant studies published within the past five years were retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases, with inclusion criteria encompassing in vitro and in vivo investigations of phytochemical actions on neurotransmitter systems. The analysis revealed that plants such as Melissa officinalis (lemon balm), Mimosa pudica, Senna alexandrina, Helianthus annuus, Rosa spp., Laurus nobilis, Mentha piperita, Citrus reticulata, Centella asiatica, Chamaemelum nobile, and Ginkgo biloba exhibit significant antidepressant and anxiolytic properties through modulation of monoaminergic transmission, regulation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, and enhancement of neuroplasticity. These plants also demonstrate antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective activities that further support their therapeutic potential. In conclusion, herbal-based interventions may serve as valuable complementary approaches for managing depression and anxiety. Nevertheless, well-designed clinical studies are essential to validate their efficacy, safety, and mechanisms in long-term use.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical services are direct services and communication to patients related to pharmaceutical preparations to achieve definite results and improve patients' quality of life. Drug storage is the activity of storing and maintaining by placing received drugs in a place that is considered safe from theft and physical disturbances that can damage the quality of the drug. If there is an error in storing the drug, it will decrease the drug content and result in losses to the Health Center. This study was conducted to distribute the storage of pharmaceutical preparations in the Ngesrep Health Center pharmacy installation warehouse. This study is a type of non-experimental research, namely descriptive research conducted through observation and interviews related to storing pharmaceutical preparations through evaluation based on Permenkes Number 74 of 2016 and the Directorate General of Pharmacy and Medical Devices and analysis of drug storage indicators. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the suitability of the spatial storage requirements at the Ngesrep Health Center in 2024 was 90.74%, with excellent information.
