Abstract

This study aims to understand the phenomenon of resilience and survival character of students in schools located along the riverbanks of Banjarmasin City. The unique geographical characteristics and diverse environmental challenges, including flood risks and limited access, have drawn authors' attention to explore students’ direct experiences in facing these obstacles and factors that support their persistence and achievements. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, involving students, teachers, and parents as key informants. The findings reveal that students’ resilience is formed through social support from families and communities, adaptation to the environment, and internalisation of local values such as cooperation and perseverance. Students' survival character is evident in their ability to overcome physical limitations, such as long journeys using wooden boats (jukung) to go to school, and psychological challenges, such as social stigma associated with their living environment. Additionally, the role of teachers as motivators and facilitators of creative learning is key to fostering students' optimism. This study highlights the importance of a holistic approach to support education in marginalized areas. Its practical implications include the development of locally-based inclusive education policies, teacher training to enhance competencies in unique environments, and the improvement of school infrastructure along riverbanks. This study contributes to the literature on educational resilience, particularly in regions with geographical and social challenges, while also serving as an inspiration for educational development in similar areas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi ekosistem sungai di Banjarmasin. Peran guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan dalam perspektif Kewarganegaraan Lingkungan perlu dioptimalkan. Namun belum diketahui dan  belum ada penelitian terhadap tingkat dan dimensi kewarganegaraan lingkungan di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama, khususnya terhadap guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dan informasi dilakukan melalui kuesioner, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan kriteria dan kategori Tingkat Kewarganegaraan Lingkungan berdasarkan kategori dari Karetekin. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kewarganegaraan lingkungan guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan secara keseluruhan berada pada level sedang, terutama dalam indikator sikap warga negara lingkungan yakni menggunakan lebih banyak sumber daya alam daripada yang kita butuhkan, tidak mengancam kesehatan dan kesejahteraan orang di masa depan berada dalam tingkat yang sangat rendah. Tingkat Kewarganegaraan lingkungan guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan belum mencapai tingkat yang memuaskan, karena masih masih berada pada tingkat sedang dan rendah. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini perlu penguatan dan penegakkan nilai-nilai ekologis melalui sistem pendidikan yang secara konsisten memperkuat nilai-nilai ekologis. dan memungkinkan perilaku pro-lingkungan dan pada gilirannya memberikan penguatan untuk nilai-nilai ekologis.

Abstract

The Strengthening the Pancasila Learner Profile (P5) project is one of the government decisions No. 56/M/2022 related to implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The P5 programme is structured with a project-based learning approach. SMP Negeri 10 Banjarbaru is one of the schools that actively supports implementing the P5 Programme. This research covers the evaluation of the P5 programme at SMP Negeri 10 Banjarbaru which takes the theme "Entrepreneurship" with the name "Market Day" and the creative dimension as a reference. Evaluation is needed to determine the success of programme implementation. The success of the P5 programme is not sufficiently measured only by the reflection stage but requires a systematic and comprehensive evaluation. This study aimed to determine the programme evaluation process and the success of P5 implementation based on the four aspects of the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). A qualitative descriptive approach was used in the research process. The results showed that the P5 programme at SMP Negeri 10 Banjarbaru had been implemented well and was successful overall, and could be continued. However, there are still obstacles such as the lack of participation of students. Therefore, it is suggested that the school provide an understanding of the importance of the P5 programme to students as well as cooperate in establishing communication with parents to support the implementation of the programme in the future. quality gaps despite a Gross Enrollment Rate (GER) of 98.10%. Geographic barriers, economic constraints, and unequal teacher distribution underscore the need for alternative delivery models. This study assessed the potential implementation of Open Schooling and Distance Learning for senior and vocational high schools in South Kalimantan. Using a quantitative descriptive design, data were collected from principal and teacher questionnaires, facility observations at 30 Learning Activity Centers, and document review of GER, Net Enrollment Rate (NER), and the national Education Data System (Dapodik). Descriptive statistics (mean, percentage, and frequency) showed that major barriers were limited digital infrastructure, substandard teacher–student ratios, and weak local regulations. Nevertheless, 77% of teachers supported the open/PJJ model, and most schools demonstrated adequate information and communication technology (ICT) readiness, indicating high feasibility. The novelty of this study lies in combining stakeholder perceptions, school ICT readiness, and learning activity centers conditions to map provincial-level implementation feasibility. The findings provide evidence for provincial policymaking, particularly in developing regulations, strengthening ICT infrastructure, and expanding learning activity centers in remote areas to improve equity, reduce dropout rates, and support high-quality 12-year compulsory education.

Abstract

Farmers must do everything they can to achieve maximum leek production, namely by utilizing production factors effectively and combining them optimally. In fact, many farmers do not know how to use and combine production factors appropriately. The purpose of this study was to analyze production factors that influence leek production and identify problems faced by farmers and solutions to overcome them in leek farming in Wanaraya District. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the factors that significantly influenced leek production were planting area, while the variables of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor did not significantly influence leek production in Wanaraya District. Problems faced by farmers in leek farming in Wanaraya District include high rainfall that can cause plant rot, as well as pest and disease attacks that reduce productivity such as stem-eating caterpillars and fusarium wilt disease.

Abstract

Gender equality is a global issue that continues to face challenges in its implementation across countries. School learning plays a strategic role in instilling the values of justice and equality from an early age. One such approach is through the subject of Social Studies. This article aims to examine how strengthening Social Studies learning through the integration of a global perspective on gender equality makes learning more relevant, contextual, and better able to foster critical awareness in students. This research uses a literature review. Data were obtained from various literature sources, including national and international journal articles and books related to Social Studies learning themes, gender equality, and global perspectives. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically by mapping the relationship between ten main Social Studies themes and gender equality issues in a global context. The results of the study indicate that gender equality can be integrated comprehensively into Social Studies subject themes, such as culture, history, environment, individual identity, social relations, power, economics, technology, global connections, and citizenship. The integration of a global perspective into Social Studies learning helps students understand gender equality as a cross-border, cross-cultural social issue. Thus, Social Studies learning plays a vital role in fostering inclusive, just, and responsible attitudes among global citizens.
