Abstract

This activity began with concerns about the high level of smartphone addiction among young children in Panarian Village, Padanglawas Regency. Since people know and use smartphones in Panarian Village in their daily lives, it has had an impact on children's development. Where many parents use smartphones as a tool to help care for fussy children, the result is that many children become addicted and this has an impact on their children's character which is not good. This service activity was carried out using a structured counseling method involving 50 participants consisting of village officials and community representatives who had children aged 2 years to 16 years. To measure the level of success of counseling, pretests and posttests were carried out on activity participants. The results of outreach activities on parenting patterns and strengthening children's character include (1). The knowledge of the community in Panarian Village, Padanglawas Regency regarding parenting patterns is very minimal, as evidenced by the pretest results of 40% of the community having no knowledge of parenting strategies. (2). Counseling participants experienced an increase in knowledge after being given material and simulations by the presenters. This was proven by the results of the postet, which found that 64% of participants were in the very good category in understanding parenting strategies in the digital era. From the results of this activity it can be concluded that the impact of using smartphones as a means of caring for children is very dangerous for children. And through counseling and guidance, parents are aware of the importance of parenting in order to prepare children for good growth and development.

Abstract

The problem of low financial literacy in rural communities often results in unbalanced consumption patterns, lack of financial planning, and low awareness of saving and investing based on sharia principles. The Field Work Lecture (KKL) activity in the form of Community Service (PKM) in Pangirkiran Dolok Village was focused on the socialization of Islamic household financial management as an effort to improve community financial literacy. The purpose of this activity was to provide understanding of sharia-compliant financial management concepts, enhance community skills in financial planning and household bookkeeping, and encourage the growth of a saving culture and halal investment. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical simulations of family financial recording. The results showed a significant increase in community understanding and skills in financial management, as reflected in more directed and Islamic-oriented financial behavior. The impact was the emergence of collective community awareness of the importance of sharia financial management as the foundation for family welfare and village economic development.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a complex issue in many rural areas of Indonesia, including Pangirkiran Dolok Village. This practice often hinders access to education, disrupts reproductive health, and limits the future potential of adolescents, especially women. To answer this challenge, a Field Lecture Work (KKL) program was implemented with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which places the community as an active subject in the process of social change. The focus of this activity is to build collective awareness and strengthen the role of citizens in preventing early marriage through participatory education and community empowerment. The methods used included participatory observation, interviews with community leaders, focus group discussions (FGDs), and training and educational campaigns involving adolescents, parents and local stakeholders. The results showed an increase in community understanding of the impact of early marriage and the growth of local initiatives, such as the formation of a youth education group and a community dialog forum. The impact of this activity is not only seen in the change in attitudes towards the practice of early marriage, but also in the emergence of a collaborative spirit in creating a more supportive environment for adolescent development. The PAR approach has proven effective in facilitating social change based on awareness, local values and active community participation.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to revitalize the educational function of majelis taklim as an effort to strengthen Islamic family law literacy among the community in Kecamatan Barumun. The main problems faced by the community were the low level of understanding regarding Islamic family law, particularly related to the rights and obligations of husbands and wives, marriage administration, family conflict resolution, protection of women and children, and inheritance distribution according to Islamic law. On the other hand, majelis taklim, which has traditionally served as a center for religious education in society, has not yet optimally carried out its educational function in the field of Islamic family law. The implementation method employed a participatory community empowerment approach through stages of socialization, needs identification, training, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. Educational activities were conducted through interactive lectures, group discussions, family case simulations, and community-based mentoring. The results showed an increase in community understanding of Islamic family law. Before the program implementation, 68% of participants were categorized as having a low level of understanding, while after the activities, 74% of participants reached a good level of understanding. Furthermore, the program succeeded in strengthening the educational function of majelis taklim through the development of thematic studies on Islamic family law and the application of more participatory learning methods. This community service activity demonstrates that majelis taklim has strategic potential as a community-based socio-religious educational medium in improving Islamic family law literacy and strengthening family resilience in rural communities.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic family law within Indonesia's national legal framework through the lens of Pancasila's justice values in religious court administration. As Indonesia's largest judicial institution handling Islamic family matters, religious courts face significant challenges in harmonizing Islamic legal principles with the constitutional foundation of Pancasila. Employing a quantitative research methodology, this study surveyed 284 stakeholders including religious court judges, legal practitioners, policymakers, and legal scholars across multiple jurisdictions to assess perceptions of Pancasila justice value implementation, institutional effectiveness, and integration challenges. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring five dimensions: understanding of Pancasila justice values, integration effectiveness, administrative performance, stakeholder satisfaction, and systemic challenges. Statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and correlation analyses revealed significant findings. Results indicate that 78.5% of respondents demonstrate high understanding of Pancasila values, yet only 64.2% perceive effective integration in court practices. Religious courts achieved a 96.45% case clearance rate in 2023, processing 603,512 cases, though substantial challenges persist in harmonizing religious and state law (71.8% agreement). The study concludes that while structural frameworks exist for integration, substantive implementation requires enhanced judicial capacity, clearer legislative guidelines, and stronger institutional mechanisms to realize Pancasila's justice principles within Islamic family law adjudication

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of informal mediation in resolving land disputes among heirs in Sungai Jior Village, the role of informal mediation from the perspective of the Compilation of Islamic Law, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders, traditional figures, the village head, and parties involved in informal dispute resolution. The findings reveal that informal mediation in Sungai Jior Village is conducted in a familial manner, involving religious and traditional leaders as mediators. Agreements are reached orally and are considered morally and traditionally binding. This mediation plays an essential role in preventing prolonged conflicts, restoring family relationships, and achieving a fair inheritance distribution in accordance with Islamic principles as stipulated in the Compilation of Islamic Law. Supporting factors include trust in community leaders, a strong culture of deliberation, and process efficiency, while inhibiting factors involve emotional unpreparedness of disputing parties and the absence of clear inheritance documents
