Abstract

Rice is the main commodity crops in the province of Gorontalo, in addition to maize and pulses. One alternative technology to increase productivity is through application of Legowo cropping system that is engineered way of planting the tiles so that there is a spacious room extends to one direction between two rows of rice plants, while the other way seemed more tightly. In rice cultivation with system of transplanting, planting distance is one factor of production that is very important because it determines the productivity achieved. This research is expected to be a reference for farmers, especially in the province of Gorontalo to carry rice cultivation so as to increase the production of rice plants. The design of the study is a Randomized Complete Block Design by comparing between systems that are often used by farmers, namely row planting system tiles (S0), the system of row planting Legowo (2: 1) (S1), system of row planting Legowo (4: 1 ) (S2), planting system SRI (S3). The parameters of observations made were plant height, number of tillers, production (kg/plot), and observations of soil samplesman. The results showed treatment plant system of tiles provide number of tiller and height of plants that are best compared with other treatments. The best results for a number of productive tillers, the average production of grain/plot, grain weight of 1000 grain was in the treatment plant system Legowo row 2: 1.

Abstract

Paddy is the main food crop in Indonesia, including in Gorontalo Province, which has various local varieties. These varieties generally have the advantage of adapting to local environmental conditions, but sometimes they have not been scientifically tested regarding the quality of their seeds. This research aims to determine the level of seed viability of several local Gorontalo paddy varieties. This research was structured in a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatments, namely the temo variety, maraya variety, pulo kuku variety, red pulo variety, sonu variety and ponda variety. Each treatment was repeated 3 times to obtain 18 treatment combinations. The research data were then analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the Temo variety gave the best results on seed viability in terms of germination parameters (100%) and a growth speed index of 50. Meanwhile, the Sonu variety gave the best results in terms of germination rate (1.97 days) and radicle length (9.23 cm ). And overall the local Gorontalo variety rice seeds have very good quality as seen from the seed germination capacity reaching 95 – 100%.

Abstract

Bertujuan untuk memasyarakatkan bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea) sebagai pewarna alami dalam pembuatan makanan dan minuman di Desa Yamli, Kecamatan Gane Barat Selatan, Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan Program Studi Agroteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Khairun melalui pendekatan partisipatif, kegiatan ini melibatkan masyarakat lokal untuk memahami manfaat dan teknik pengolahan bunga telang sebagai pewarna. Capaian dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa bunga telang dapat diterima sebagai bahan pewarna alami yang menarik dan sehat, serta memiliki prospek untuk dikembangkan dalam produk makanan dan minuman lokal. Diharapkan bahwa pengenalan bunga telang sebagai pewarna alami ini tidak hanya meningkatkan nilai ekonomi masyarakat setempat, tetapi juga mengurangi ketergantungan pada pewarna sintetis yang berpotensi berbahaya bagi kesehatan.

Abstract

When a product reaches its maturity in its life cycle, some innovations have to be put in that product in order to lengthen its life cycle. Otherwise, that product will be perceived as obsolete. It might affect the demand of that product i.e. the demand become decreasing. Based on the observation that we conducted over two smart phone brands, the phenomena that the demand has declining pattern really happened in the real situation. In addition, the observation shows that the product life cycle is getting shorter. This implies that the manufacturer has to deal with decreasing demand more often. A case study is presented in this paper, in which manufacturer experienced final product with decreasing demand pattern. Some lot sizing techniques, such as Lot for Lot, Silver Meal 1, Silver Meal 2, Least Unit Cost, Part Period Balancing, and Incremental, are tested to solve the inventory policy for both final product (parent) and its components (child). It is concluded that a company should not consider only one component or one level whenever deciding the inventory policy, i.e. production lot size. It is shown by the case study that the best lot sizing technique for a particular parent of product whenever the company only consider the parent is different with the best lot sizing technique whenever the company consider the parent and its child. For the case presented, it is shown that the smallest total cost of parent and child is most likely occurred whenever Silver Meal 2 lot sizing technique is applied in the parent with decreasing demand pattern.

Abstract

Lokasi padat penduduk membuat Desa Faudu kekurangan lahan untuk dapat digunakan sebagai lahan budidaya tanaman sehingga pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dengan teknik vertikulture adalah salah satu cara yang dapat diterapkan oleh masyarakat.  Vertikulture merupakan Teknik budidaya tanaman secara vertikal, dimana penanamannya dilakukan secara bertingkat sehingga memungkinkan untuk berkebun dengan memanfaatkan tempat secara efisien. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Faudu Kecamatan Pulau Hiri dengan menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang dihadiri oleh masyarakat umumnya ibu-ibu rumah tangga dengan tujuan dapat menjadi solusi dalam penyediaan bahan pangan bagi keluarga. Capaian dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat sangat tertarik untuk memulai budidaya tanaman dengan memanfaatkan pekarangan mereka dengan harapan dapat menikmati hasil budidaya tanaman bersama keluarga.
