Abstract

Since the 4.0 industry, the work in industry has been largely replaced by computer-based labor and robots. This can lead to the reduction of human labor in the industry. Equip prospective workers with 21st century skills were the alternative solutions by stakeholders. However, such skills may not necessarily guarantee a person to get a job in the industry. So the students need to have entrepreneurial skills as another solution. This study aims to reveal the readiness of the students in work and entrepreneurship through these skills. The type of research used was Sequential Explanatory Design with Mixed Method Approach. The sampling technique used was Multistage Sampling that was by Cluster Random Sampling to choose the school and the class, then Proportionate Random Sampling to select the students. The data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. The content validity technique used was with expert judgment, while the construct validity used is with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The data analysis technique used descriptive technique. The results showed that the level of entrepreneurship skills of the students in general fall into the high category (Mean Ideal 2.5 < Mean Value) with the details of each of which are Self-Management (3.387), Teamwork (3.243), technology (3.186), Communication (3.162), Problem Solving (2.986), Planning and Organizing (2.986), and Initiative and Enterprise (2.923). This was reinforced by the results of interviews that indicated the existence of efforts to form entrepreneurial skills through learning and activities in the schools. The entrepreneurial skills were a one of the alternatives to prepare the students in the 4.0 industry.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) was implemented in Muara Penimbung Village as an effort to address environmental pollution caused by cattle manure waste and the community’s high dependence on LPG and firewood. The program implemented a 1 m³ biogas digester technology as a renewable energy solution as well as an environmentally friendly waste management system. The implementation stages included a needs assessment survey of partners, program socialization, technical training on digester construction and operation, operational demonstrations, and continuous usage assistance. The results showed an increase in community knowledge and skills related to the anaerobic fermentation process, digester operation, and the utilization of slurry as organic fertilizer. Quantitatively, more than 80% of participants were able to operate the digester independently, and the installed system produced an average biogas output of 0.25-0.30 m³ per day, which was sufficient to meet the daily cooking needs of partner households. Furthermore, all cattle manure waste was processed more effectively, thereby reducing environmental pollution around the cattle sheds. This program had a positive impact on environmental, economic, and social aspects of the community and supported the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly clean and affordable energy, environmental health, and community capacity building. The success of this program provides a strong foundation for the future development and replication of biogas technology among other livestock farmers.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to address three major gaps across six micro welding businesses in Payakabung Village, namely behavioral gaps (low PPE awareness), knowledge gaps (weak basic OHS management), and access gaps (limited availability of quality PPE). This activity involved 15 participants consisting of business owners and welding workers. The problem solving strategy is divided into two activities: Human Resource Capacity Building and the Implementation of Renewable Technology Interventions. Evaluation results indicate significant program effectiveness. Based on pre-test and post-test instruments, there was an increase in the average OHS knowledge score by 43.3 points, with the training effectiveness reaching 95.8% (from an average pre-test score of 45.2 to a post-test score of 88.5). Qualitatively, improvements were observed in PPE compliance and welding OHS implementation. This program contributes to achieving SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4 (Quality Education), and supports the vision of Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI) in developing highly competitive human resources

Abstract

The focus of this research aims to design a learning module based on the principles of Project Based Learning (PjBL) for the Basic Metrology course in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study adopts the 4D model, encompassing the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Validation by a subject matter expert produced an average rating of 3.50 (87.5%), classifying the module as highly valid. Concurrently, evaluation by a media expert yielded an average score of 3.25 (81.37%), situating it within the valid category. Furthermore, a practicality assessment derived from student feedback returned an average score of 3.32 (83.25%), which is categorized as excellent. In the component of creativity and innovation, the module received a score of 3.00 or 75%, suggesting that although the module functions well, there remains room for enhancement to further encourage students’ ability to generate new ideas.
