Abstract

Community-based curriculum is one of the innovations in the world of education that emphasizes the importance of collaboration between schools, families, and communities in the learning process. 7 Poe Atikan is one of the implementations of community-based curriculum. This study aims to see whether the 7 Poe Atikan program can improve the effectiveness of character education for students at SDN 1 Tegal Munjul Jaya. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires to students, teachers, and guardians. As many as 73% of students stated that they knew enough about this program, then according to one of the teachers, this program also encourages students to learn about issues, culture, or potential in the surrounding community. The results of the questionnaire from guardians, as many as 60% of respondents stated that they were very knowledgeable about the 7 Poe Atikan program, while the rest, namely 40%, felt that they did not know much.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of understanding of the concept of conservation of numbers in students of PAUD age (six years) and 2nd grade elementary school (nine years) based on Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with direct observation techniques and semi-structured interviews, as well as a number conservation test using marbles, coins, and round paper of different sizes. The subjects of the study consisted of four children: two six-year-old children at RA Salafiyah and two nine year-old children at SDN 5 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta Regency. The results showed that six-year-old children had understood the principle of conservation of numbers and realized that the number of objects remained the same even though the arrangement and size changed according to Piaget's concrete operational stages. In contrast, nine-year-old students had not fully mastered the concept, they were still influenced by the visual perception of size and arrangement. Factors of learning motivation, additional experiences (tutoring and family support), and individual interests played an important role in this difference in understanding. The findings confirm that chronological age is not the only determinant of cognitive development, so that mathematics learning strategies need to be adjusted to the characteristics of students' motivation and learning experiences.

Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah, khususnya sampah daun kering, masih menjadi tantangan di berbagai lingkungan pendidikan. Di SDN 2 Sindangkasih, sampah daun kering umumnya hanya dikumpulkan dan dibakar sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan. Program pengabdian masyarakat Gerakan Green Community: Mengolah Limbah Daun Menjadi Nutrisi untuk Bumi bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa serta orang tua dalam mengelola sampah daun kering melalui pembuatan kompos. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi awal, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan praktik langsung dengan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta mengenai jenis sampah, bahaya pembakaran sampah organik, serta manfaat kompos. Peserta mampu mempraktikkan proses pencacahan daun, pencampuran aktivator, fermentasi, hingga penyimpanan kompos dengan benar. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan perilaku yang terlihat dari meningkatnya kesadaran untuk tidak membakar sampah daun dan mulai memanfaatkannya sebagai pupuk organik. Program ini juga mendorong terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang lebih bersih, hijau, dan produktif berkat pemanfaatan kompos untuk penghijauan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil menumbuhkan budaya peduli lingkungan serta memberikan keterampilan praktis yang dapat diterapkan secara berkelanjutan di rumah maupun sekolah.
