Abstract

This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR) based learning module as a means of visualizing abstract concepts in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) with the theme “Knowing Our Earth” for grade V elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the difficulty of students in understanding the abstract concepts of IPAS and the limitations of learning media used by teachers. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), with implementation up to the formative evaluation stage. The products developed are printed and digital modules equipped with 3D markers using the Assemblr Edu application, so that they can be visualized through smartphones. The results of validation by material experts obtained a score of 95%, media experts 99%, and users (teachers) of 96%, all of which were in the “very valid” category. The limited trial of 25 students showed a very positive response with a readability percentage of 85%. This module is considered to be able to increase students' interest and understanding of the material “Knowing Our Earth” with interactive and interesting concept visualization. Thus, this Augmented Reality-based learning module is worth using as an innovative learning media in improving the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media for the IPAS subject, focusing on the Plant Body Parts material for fourth-grade students at Lasoani State Elementary School. The background highlights the challenges students face in understanding abstract concepts like plant anatomy using conventional 2D media within the Merdeka Curriculum framework. To address this, the study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, covering the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, expert validations, and user response questionnaires. The developed AR media was validated by media and material experts, achieving high feasibility scores of 86.66% and 83.15%, respectively. Student responses indicated an attractiveness score of 85.60%, while teacher responses showed a practicality score of 94%, both categorized as very valid. These results demonstrate that the AR-based media effectively transforms abstract content into interactive visualizations, increases student engagement, and supports meaningful learning. In conclusion, the developed AR learning media is a valid and practical innovation that can enhance students’ understanding of plant body parts and has the potential for broader application in other abstract topics within the IPAS subject.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 5 Lolu, specifically on the topic of fractions. The research used a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design involving 20 students as the experimental sample. Data were obtained through pretest and posttest instruments and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, the Paired Sample t-test, and the N-Gain test with the assistance of SPSS Statistics. The results revealed a substantial improvement in students’ cognitive abilities after the application of the TGT model. The average pretest score of 22.5 increased to 81 on the posttest, yielding a mean gain of 58.5 points. The Paired Sample t-test produced a significance value of <0.001, indicating a statistically significant effect of the TGT model on learning outcomes. Furthermore, the N-Gain value of 0.7663 categorized the improvement as high. These findings indicate that the TGT model is effective in enhancing students’ understanding of fractions, increasing engagement, and creating a more interactive learning environment. Thus, TGT can be considered an innovative alternative learning strategy for improving mathematics outcomes at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by flashcard media on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model. The population and sample consisted of all fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Sindue in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 27 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and interviews. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS version 29. The results showed that the average pretest score was 49.70, while the posttest average score increased to 80.96. The paired sample t-test analysis indicated a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, which is lower than 0.05. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by flashcard media has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning for fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Sindue.
