Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of changes in Islamic education in Indonesia during the New Order era, especially in the context of its position and recognition in the national education system. Before the New Order, Islamic educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools and madrasahs were in a marginal position and had not been fully recognized, so that public interest in Islamic education was relatively low. Using a narrative descriptive approach, this study analyzes how the New Order government's policies influenced the growth and development of Islamic educational institutions. During that period, Islamic education developed under tight control and ideological pressure, so that it had to make various concessions to the secular and bureaucratic national education system. However, Islamic education gradually underwent a transformation, from an isolated condition to limited recognition, although it remained under political and ideological supervision. Islamic educational institutions began to show resilience and adaptability, and succeeded in laying the foundation for a greater transformation after the Reformation era. The results of this study indicate that despite facing challenges and limitations, Islamic madrasahs, Islamic boarding schools, and universities were able to survive, develop, and make significant contributions to national development. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dinamika perubahan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia selama masa Orde Baru, khususnya dalam konteks posisi dan pengakuannya dalam sistem pendidikan nasional. Sebelum Orde Baru, lembaga pendidikan Islam seperti pesantren dan madrasah berada di posisi pinggiran dan belum diakui secara penuh, sehingga minat masyarakat terhadap pendidikan Islam relatif rendah. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif naratif, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana kebijakan pemerintah Orde Baru mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan institusi pendidikan Islam. Selama masa tersebut, pendidikan Islam berkembang di bawah kontrol ketat dan tekanan ideologis, sehingga harus melakukan berbagai konsesi terhadap sistem pendidikan nasional yang sekuler dan birokratis. Meski demikian, secara bertahap pendidikan Islam mengalami transformasi, dari kondisi terisolasi menuju pengakuan terbatas, walaupun tetap berada dalam pengawasan politik dan ideologis. Lembaga-lembaga pendidikan Islam mulai menunjukkan ketahanan dan kemampuan beradaptasi, serta berhasil meletakkan fondasi bagi transformasi yang lebih besar setelah era Reformasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun dihadapkan pada tantangan dan keterbatasan, madrasah, pesantren, dan perguruan tinggi Islam mampu bertahan, berkembang, dan memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pembangunan bangsa.

Abstract

Most teachers still apply conventional lecture methods and do not utilize positive behavioral reinforcement techniques or interactive social learning models in Islamic Religious Education learning, so that students' critical thinking skills and ability to connect religious teachings with the context of everyday life are underdeveloped. Recent research shows that these two approaches complement each other in creating an effective and adaptive learning process to the needs of today's students. To see and understand it, by using a qualitative approach, namely descriptive research with a focus on analysis, the author conducted a study. This study uses a literature review as its approach. By reading, recording, analyzing, and utilizing library data collection methods. After being collected, the data is analyzed using a methodology that begins with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Both of these approaches have an influence on learning and behavior. However, while behaviorism emphasizes the importance of reinforcement and punishment from the external environment, social cognitive theory emphasizes how individuals actively process and assess information received from their environment. These behavioristic and social cognitive approaches complement each other in Islamic Religious Education learning. The behavioral approach helps understand how behavior can be shaped through external stimuli, while the social cognitive approach explains how internal factors such as thoughts, emotions, and social experiences influence behavior.

Abstract

Sejarah pendidikan Islam di masa Abbasiyah merupakan salah satu periode emas yang menampilkan model pembelajaran yang efektif dan relevan untuk abad 21. Latar belakang pada penelitian ini yaitu perlunya merekonstruksi model pendidikan masa lampau untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran modern. Sedangkan, tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menemukan metode pembelajaran masa Abbasiyah yang dapat diintegrasikan pada model pembelajaran abad 21. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi literatur kualitatif yang melibatkan analisis tekstual dan deskriptif tentang metode pembelajaran ‘ilmiyyah, halaqah, dan teknik-teknik lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran Abbasiyah yang berpusat pada ilmu pengetahuan, logika, dan metodologi rasional sangat cocok untuk di implementasikan di abad 21 ini. Oleh karena itu, rekonstruksi pendidikan Islam masa Abbasiyah dapat dijadikan model pembelajaran abad 21 yang fleksibel, kolaboratif, dan integratif, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dan memberikan wawasan yang sangat berharga pada siswa di abad 21.
