Abstract

Background: Biomimetic restoration with multilayered composite gives the highest aesthetic result with the least invasive tooth structure. The goal of these techniques is to restore teeth while closely mimicking the micro- and macrostructure, chromatic properties, and tooth symmetry of the original dentition. These techniques need extra instruments and the clinician's experience. Purpose: This case study aims to describe a technique for repairing anterior defects in just one appointment. Case: A 24-year-old man complained about the color, asymmetry, and fracture of his anterior teeth. However, he does not have much time to wait for the indirect restoration procedure. A single-visit treatment was preferred for this case. Case Management: A manual wax-up for the palatal index followed by multilayered composite restoration was nicely done in a single appointment. Defects in anterior teeth could be repaired in a single appointment using multilayer direct composite restoration. This method could effectively replicate the teeth's morphology, symmetry, micro-macro structure, and chromatic properties. The quick manual wax-up and layering steps are critical to this procedure. Discussion: Currently, direct restorations for anterior teeth are completed in three stages: incisal edge and palatal wall shaping; interproximal wall creation utilizing a pre-contoured matrix technology; and buccal surface application of multilayered composite. Multilayered direct composite restoration technique with manual palatal index can be an alternative procedure to create immediate natural-looking anterior restoration. This technique offered a reduction of chairside time in a single-stage appointment, laboratory cost savings, and more predictable results.

Abstract

The military invasion by Israel against Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has worsened the hunger crisis. This research aims to determine the role of World Central Kitchen (WCK) in addressing the hunger crisis in Gaza in 2023- 2024. This research uses Clive Archer's theory of international organisation roles to examine WCK's role in addressing the hunger crisis in Gaza. The methodology used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data sources obtained from journals, books, reports, and media news. The research results indicate that WCK has significantly fulfilled its roles as an instrument, arena, and independent actor. The WCK's first role is an instrument for humanitarian food aid programs by building community kitchens and collaborating with the governments of other countries and local organisations to distribute food. The second role is an arena, which means making the WCK organisation a workplace for workers and volunteers from all over the world. Then, the third role is as an independent actor, namely WCK is an independent organisation in terms of funding and also receives donations from other institutions without any binding interests except humanitarian ones. In addition to these roles, WCK also faces challenges, including difficulties in obtaining assistance and potential threats to the safety of its workers during humanitarian operations. Abstract

Marine debris is one of the most pressing environmental challenges in the modern era, with the Philippines as one of the largest contributors. This study explores the challenges in implementing the Bangkok Declaration to address marine debris in the Philippines 2019-2025. This study uses the theory of pluralism, namely the plurality of actors in efforts to prevent and reduce marine debris in the Philippines. Through descriptive qualitative research using literature study data collection techniques, the results of this study indicate that around 80% of marine debris comes from land activities, with plastic as the dominant component. The seriousness of the Philippines in implementing the Bangkok Declaration on Marine Debris can be seen from the involvement of various actors. The actors who play a role in efforts to prevent and reduce marine debris in the Philippines include the government, private sector, NGOs, and also local communities. However, there are still several challenges in implementing the Bangkok Declaration on Marine Debris in the Philippines, including the lack of waste management infrastructure, low public awareness, weak law enforcement and the problem of plastic waste imports. Despite these challenges, the Philippines' opportunity to at least approach the target of reducing marine debris remains open. This can be achieved by increasing investment in waste processing infrastructure, effective education campaigns, strengthening regulations and law enforcement, and increasing international cooperation to address waste problems, all of which must be implemented in a comprehensive, measurable and responsible manner by all actors involved.

Abstract

Early childhood is a child who is in the process of development, both physical, intellectual, social, emotional and language development that takes place gradually. Therefore, in learning for early childhood, teachers must be able to apply learning methods, one of the learning methods that can be applied is by using the montage technique. This study aims to determine: 1. Planning the Application of Montage Techniques by Teachers to Children Aged 4-5 Years 2. Implementation of the Application of Montage Techniques by Teachers to Children Aged 4-5 Years 3. Factors Influencing the Application of Montage Techniques. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The primary data sources of this study are the principal and teachers while the secondary data sources are documents and books. Data were collected using techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation and processed by reducing, presenting and drawing conclusions. The results of the research conducted were found as follows: (1) Planning the implementation of montage techniques Teachers prepare teaching materials by analyzing the module first, teachers make learning plans (RPPH), (2) Teachers prepare tools and materials for children then teachers explain the steps in montage activities using demonstration methods, (3) Supporting factors include adequate tools and materials, teachers utilize facilities at school then the motivation and enthusiasm given by teachers to children become supporting factors in the implementation of montage techniques. While the inhibiting factors are limited time and the condition of children who are still aggressive and do not follow the rules in activities because of their early age.
