Abstract

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an infectious disease of the upper or lower respiratory tract that can cause various types of diseases, from asymptomatic diseases or mild infections to severe and fatal diseases, depending on the causative pathogen, environmental factors, and host factors. Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is caused by more than 300 bacteria, viruses, and rickettsia types. The incidence, distribution, and consequences of acute respiratory infections vary based on several factors, namely environmental conditions, such as air pollution, household density, humidity, cleanliness, season and temperature; availability and effectiveness of medical care; infection prevention and control (IPC) measures to contain the spread, such as vaccines, access to health care facilities, and isolation capacity; individual factors, such as age, smoking, the ability of personal factors to transmit infection, immune status, nutritional status, previous or concurrent infections with other pathogens, and underlying medical conditions; pathogen characteristics, such as mode of transmission, transmissibility, virulence factors and microbial load (WHO, 2020). This study aims to analyze several factors related to the incidence of ARI in toddlers in the Tuntungan Health Center area, Deli Serdang Regency, in 2024. This research method uses a questionnaire containing questions to obtain primary data from respondents. The questionnaire is processed using validity, reliability, normality, and logistic regression tests. This study concludes that environmental factors, such as maternal education history, individual children, nutrition, socioeconomics, and family smoking behavior, have a relationship with the incidence of ARI in toddlers. In contrast, the results for immunization factors show no relationship with the incidence of ARI in toddlers.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Long working hours, poor working conditions, and irregular sleep patterns increase the risk of burnout in freight truck drivers. Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is a procedure to relax muscles. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation on truck drivers. Methods: This research is a quasi-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. 60 truck drivers working in Belawan Port were given PMR video tutorials and underwent PMR therapy for two months. The researcher used the standard KAUPKK questionnaire to measure subject fatigue. The data were tested using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test. Results: With a z score (-5.798) greater than the z-table value (-1.645) and a p-value of 0.000, it can be concluded that there are differences in complaints of fatigue among truck drivers before and after PMR. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that the fatigue of truck drivers can be reduced by PMR therapy.

Abstract

One of the problems for human resource management is the desire to leave (turnover intentions) which can lead to the nurse's decision to leave her job. One way for nurses to stay in the hospital is to increase employee retention. The purpose of this study was to develop recommendations to increase employee retention based on the Internal service quality approach at Batu Bara Hospital. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at the Batu Bara Hospital from September 2020 to March 2022. The research population used was nurses who were actively working at the Batu Bara Hospital, totaling 105 people with a total sample of 105 respondents. Linear regression tests and multiple linear regression tests were used to determine the effect between the dependent variable and the independent variable. The results showed that the cooperation variable and role conflict variable had no effect on increasing nurse retention, and the variables of suitability to work, suitability to technology, self-control ability, supervisory system, and role ambiguity had an effect on increasing nurse retention at Batu Bara Hospital. In this study together the independent variables have an influence on the dependent variable with a large effect of 95.9%. Suggestions for the Batu Bara Hospital should further strengthen the relationship between nurses by holding regular meetings, providing knowledge to nurses about the organizational components of Batu Bara Hospital through guidance from managers/supervisors and regular training to nurses, improving the quality of existing job designs that can This is done by completing the equipment and technology needed by nurses and reviewing the existing reward system, where the reward system must implement a justice system based on the workload, education, work experience and achievements of nurses.

Abstract

Errors in drug administration were ranked first (24.8%) of the top 10 incidents reported in hospitals. The types of errors that caused death in patients included 40.9%, wrong dose, 16% wrong drug, and 9.5% wrong route of administration. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of monitoring, evaluation, and teamwork effectiveness on the implementation of the 7 correct principles of drug administration. This research is a quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at Hospital Pematang Siantar. The study population was 103 people and all of them were used as samples (total sampling). Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (a=0.05). The results showed that the implementation of the 7 correct principles of drug administration at the non-Covid-19 Inpatient Installation at Hospital in Pematang Siantar was influenced by monitoring variables (p=0.000), evaluation (p=0.036), teamwork effectiveness (p=0.042). The monitoring variable has a greater influence on the implementation of the 7 right principles of drug administration with a value of OR = 10.643 meaning that nurses who say monitoring is good have the opportunity to implement the 7 right principles of drug administration properly by 10.6 times higher than nurses who say monitoring is not good. The conclusion of the study is that monitoring, evaluation and teamwork effectiveness affect the implementation of the 7 principles of correct drug administration. It is recommended that the hospital can carry out continuous monitoring and evaluation regarding the procedures that have been established as a benchmark for achieving SOPs that are applied in implementing the 7 correct principles of drug administration. Nurses need to increase the effectiveness of teamwork (teamwork) so as to minimize the adverse impact on the patients served.
