Abstract

The life of prayer is a responsibility to set aside time to pray, to be disciplined in building a relationship with God, to have self-submission and reverence toward God, and to make prayer a necessity. Meanwhile, a prayer tower is an activity of prayer, praise, and worship that has taken place and is currently ongoing. The Tabernacle of David is a representation of the prayer tower in the Old Testament era, while the Upper Room is a representation of the prayer tower in the New Testament era. As believers, we need to correctly understand the theological foundations of the prayer tower, so that we do not misapply it in our Christian lives. The prayer tower is a crucial element in the harvesting of souls in these end times and serves as a trigger to help us participate in fulfilling the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus.

Abstract

In the Book of 1 Samuel 17:1-11, it tells about the battle between David and Goliath. David, who was a young man with no experience in the military world, had to face Goliath and then David was able to defeat the mighty Goliath with extraordinary faith and courage. This news has deep relevance in the context of preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the times. This article aims to explore how the principles contained in this incident can be implemented to equip future generations, especially students at State Senior High School 23, with courage, perseverance, faith and integrity in facing contemporary problems. Implementation of this teaching includes developing mental toughness, the ability to rely on God in every challenge, as well as the importance of building strong character through a clear vision of life. In addition, this article emphasizes the importance of teaching moral values, self-confidence and hard work in forming a generation that is ready to face increasingly complex global, technological and social challenges. By following David's example, the younger generation can be prepared to become individuals who are brave, responsible and have integrity in facing a future full of uncertainty.

Abstract

Glossolalia Sebagai Karunia Roh Yang Berlanjut: Rekonstruksi Biblika-Historis Atas Bahasa Roh Dalam Apologetika Pentakosta Pasaribu, George Rudi Hartono; Rumaijuk, Stefan; Antonius, Yosef

Abstract

This article examines the biblical basis, history of interpretation, and Pentecostal defense of glossolalia as a continuing gift of the Spirit. Using qualitative library research with exegetical, historical-theological, and apologetic approaches, it distinguishes glossolalia from xenolalia and clarifies that the Indonesian expression bahasa roh is a theological designation rather than a literal Greek phrase. The study argues cumulatively that the New Testament gives no explicit terminus for tongues at the close of the apostolic age, locates the cessation of partial gifts within an eschatological horizon, and regulates rather than prohibits their use. Historical reception reveals continuity and change, while selected official GBI documents and publicly documented teaching associated with Niko Njotorahardjo and Kong Hee illustrate the continuing reception of the practice in contemporary Pentecostal communities. On this basis, the article affirms that glossolalia should be received, taught, and given responsible space in the church today, both as personal prayer and, with interpretation, for congregational edification. Such affirmation does not validate every manifestation or permit coercion; the practice remains subject to Christological confession, Scripture, love, self-control, ecclesial order, communal discernment, and the fruit of the Spirit. Because this study is library-based and limited to selected biblical, historical, and ecclesial sources, it does not empirically verify the authenticity, linguistic structure, or pastoral outcomes of particular manifestations. Further multi-site fieldwork, linguistic analysis, and comparative denominational research are therefore required.
